Connie Decker Cakes

She was absolutely fantastic! I never leave reviews, but my wife and I were so incredibly thrilled. She was always accessible and accommodating. She even drove the cake all the way up to Fort Drum, NY. The cake was absolutely delicious. We did a 2 tier chocolate and vanilla. Even a week later, the cake leftovers were delicious, moist, and soft. Cannot explain how happy we are with our decision.

Meeting with Connie was so personal and felt so welcoming! We met with her at your lovely home where she bakes from her code kitchen in the lower level of her home. We went with a three tier chocolate cake with chocolate truffle filling and chocolate cupcakes! On a side note, we had milk in carafes served at the wedding because the cake is so decadent and it was so nostalgic! Connie worked with our florist on picking out flowers we had in our arrangements to decorate the cake with! Connie also helped my husband plan out a diy cake stand which we really appreciated! I did purchase a cake topper keeper from Connie as well and we just cracked it open from the freezer for our anniversary! It was really just as good! If you’re looking for a classic, family feel with delicious cakes or cupcakes, Connie is your vendor!!!

Connie was amazing to work with! Right from our first visit, she completely understood our vision. We wanted a polka dot cake to represent my husband's grandparents' favorite decoration, and to incorporate the cake topper from my grandparents' wedding cake. Connie certainly brought our vision to life! She created a sketch, worked with us to restore the very old cake topper, and made small cakes for us to taste test with our families. The cake turned out beautifully, and it was delicious! We are approaching our one year anniversary, and we can't wait to dig into the frozen top layer!

Re: Connie DeckerCakes: I had Connie do my wedding cake and it was outstanding yes I mean outstanding she went to the Linklean House set up cake and had everything looking absolutely beautiful, to also providing a special container for my cake top to freeze which we just ate a week ago and it was as delicious as the day she made it Lemon with a white frosting (I mean to die for). Connie makes the most beautiful cakes, as well as the most delicious cakes! She is extremely talented. She is very easy to work with and will work with you in order to make the exact cake you want. Absolutely and highly recommend Connie if you want the most stunning and best tasting wedding cake!

Connie is very detail oriented plus makes amazing cakes! We had a lemon cake with raspberry butter cream filling. Our guests were all commenting on how great the cake tasted! Even those who don't eat cake told us they ate all of our wedding cake. Not only was the cake amazing, it was beautiful too! Connie does it all!

We started with ordering different cakes to help us decide which flavor we wanted which, for us, was the way to go. The wedding cake, vanilla with raspberry and chocolate ganache, was eaten by all the guests and the waitresses told us that Connie's cakes are the only ones that get eaten and enjoyed. It is 18 years later, they are still married, and birthday cakes and other special dates always have one of her cakes--the groom loves the lemon!! Connie is also delightful to work with and to know.

Connie Decker is not your typical baker or your typical wedding cake saleswoman. She does not have a website or an email (as far as I know). She does not do tastings; however she did let my parents purchase some small cakes in two flavors and a few types of icings (so we did our own at home tasting). Everything is word of mouth and boy are her cakes AMAZING! You have to know going into this that you will be doing business in her home which was a bit off-putting at first. You should also know that she has a NYS certified kitchen so you do not need to worry about cleanliness. Most importantly her cakes are amazing amazing amazing (go for the lemon - it is not too fruity and was may favorite of the three we had at our wedding). She is able to handle anything you throw at her. Definitely give her a call! We had a very small wedding (42 people) so price was not an big issue; so it is hard for us to speak to bang for your buck. Whatever the price, it will be hands down the best wedding cake you can get in the Syracuse area! The price was for both the wedding and groom's cake.
