I cannot express how perfect our wedding was, with the help of Marty and the CAC. I got so many compliments on how fun the whole event was, and a large part of that had to do with ...
the venue and the ideas Marty had for us. We had ~150 people for both ceremony and reception, and from the starting pre-ceremony cocktail to the final dance in the blackbox, people were having a great time all night. First, Marty is a blast to work with, and is incredibly knowledgeable about the space and so helpful in coordinating all our vendors (which took a huge stress off me at crunch time). He was very responsive to email, and he had a lot of great ideas that work perfectly with the CAC that I would have never thought of. Second, the space is incredibly unique. It made for gorgeous pictures and a memorable night for everyone. Third, it was shockingly affordable given the uniqueness of the space, the hours of the event, and level of coordination we received from Marty and his team; Everyone on the CAC staff was friendly and helpful. My only warning is: This is not a venue for someone who needs to scrutinize every detail. Remember, it is a museum, so the decor and exhibits can change at any time. But it's such a fun, unique space, it is well worth it in the end! I would not have changed anything for the world.
We could not have chosen a better wedding venue than the CAC! Marty was an absolute joy to work with. He was extremely responsive, especially close to the wedding day, when stress ...
levels tend to increase. He was also so much fun, and knowledgeable about both his space, as well as nearby hotels, restaurants, etc. The CAC was also surprisingly affordable, especially for such an incredible space. Our photographers were giddy with all of the creative photo opportunities the space lent itself to. Our wedding day still feels like a dream, and that's in large part due to Marty and the CAC.
We moved our wedding to the Contemporary Arts Center 10 weeks out and I was feeling the pressure. Marty immediately made us all feel like we were in good hands. He helped bring tog...
ether a beautiful wedding that our guests are still talking about - which is exactly what we wanted. Everyone loved the transition from upstairs to the lobby to the black box theater. Marty was incredibly easy to work with, and answered all my questions. I couldn't have asked for a better day.
When we were looking for a venue, we were wanting something that was more than just your typical "cookie cutter" venue, and we definitely found it at the CAC. The venue is incredib...
ly unique with so much to offer. Marty (the event coordinator) was always very responsive to our inquiries and was able to provide suggestions to us as well. The venue looked gorgeous on our wedding day. The only small issue we had was during the room flip from ceremony to reception. We had centerpieces that had a round mirror and 3 vases to be placed, along with the table number. We had asked if they would be able to place those centerpieces during the room flip and they had indicated they would. Unfortunately, during the wedding day, they indicated at the last minute that they would not be able to set them up for us and my best friend (who was also acting as my wedding planner) had to go and set-up the centerpieces. There were only 14 and it wasn't a huge issue, but was disappointing since everything had been so seamless prior to that. It definitely didn't derail the day though, which continued without fail. We received such rave reviews from our family and other guests who were absolutely thrilled with the fun, beautiful, and unique venue. I would definitely recommend this to a bride and groom looking for something elegant that will stand out from other venues. It's an absolutely incredible space!!
I had my wedding reception here a month ago and it was perfect! Such a fun and memorable night. My husband and I had a really hard time finding a venue for our reception until we w...
ent to the CAC, Marty was wonderful and is literally up for any idea you throw at him. Everyone loved the bar in the elevator and the screen in the black box where Marty suggested we use a company that people can send photos to during the reception and they would be put up on the screen in real time, which was awesome! We got to see our reception through the eyes of our guests while we danced the night away. The venue is unique and different but that what I loved about it. Also I had just under 200 people and that was the perfect amount.
The Contemporary Arts Center was the most romantic and creative reception venue!!! We loved how the reception progressed from the 6th floor, to the main floor then to the basement!...
Marty was also the most caring, thoughtful and involved reception host! He made sure all of our needs were met from our initial meeting all the way through is leaving our wedding night! Have your reception here!!!!
Most of our reception was a success... the guests loved the elevator bar and the cocktail hour throughout the museum was a big hit. We enjoyed dancing the night away in the "blackb...
ox" and playing slideshows on the big screen as we had our first dances.
Unfortunately, it started out very rocky. The tables were not set up correctly, so the bride and groom's families were seated at the head table and the bridal party had nowhere to go as they walked into the reception. Marty was arguing with me (the bride) that I must have ten extra people at the reception and refused to acknowledge the empty table in the back. Also, there were far too many people for the space and people could hardly walk between tables. I would never, ever again suggest having more than 200 people seated in the space.
I would recommend this venue as long as you have someone to stay on top of the details and don't rely on their event coordinator. Also do not have more than 200 people.
Joe Penno at the CAC was great.. the night went perfect. Whatever he had to do to make the night exactly what I wanted, he did. He's better at email then phone. But he was just gre...
