He did everything on our wedding day to make us feel comfortable while at the same time capturing our special moments with his camera. We went to various wedding studios – and spoke to a lot of sales personnel instead of the actual photographer – until we met Matthew Sowa. Our first meeting with Matt was very personal, he was very honest and open about his work. Matt and his assistant Agatha did an amazing job shooting our engagement session as well as our wedding day. Our pictures are absolutely beautiful! Every moment that he captured turned out to be much more than a static representation of an event--- each image was alive with energy and emotions. To top it all off, his enthusiastic and accommodating personality, made him an absolute pleasure to work with!! He is awesome, highly highly recommended.

In fact, we consider ourselves incredibly privileged and lucky to even be able to book Matthew for a day. He is busy for a reason!  His talent is unreal. Matthew's creativity and eye for capturing REAL emotion is not something you find every day. You can tell how much he loves what he does by the creative way that he shoots and the unique beauty of each picture. These are not your every day wedding pictures ladies and gentleman- they are pure art. Hiring Matthew Sowa Photography was BY FAR one of the BEST (and favorite) wedding decisions that my husband and I made. Not only did he take amazing pictures completely unobtrusively, but the album that he put together for us is absolutely unreal. Our family and friends are amazed by it. I truthfully could go on and on about how happy we are, but I will end this by saying I would hire Matthew over and over and over again to capture any important moment in our lives.

fabulous photographer was my #1 priority as I am obsessed with photography and had a particular style in mind. When I saw his photos online, I knew he must be right up my alley so I made an appointment to meet with him. I explained to him what I envisioned, that I am picky about photos, and that this was the most important part of my wedding as far as I was concerned and he got it immediately. When I first went to meet with him he showed me some of the amazing pics he has taken and i was sold immediately. He truly is an artist. He is totally professional, punctual, responsive to emails and accommodating to my needs. My wedding was in NY City in beautiful Angel Orensanz in Matt is known in the City as one of the most creative wedding photographers.My whole wedding party absolutely loved him, and we all had a great time going around the City taking unique pictures as a group. he is very comfortable to work with in all ways, has a good sense of humor and helps make everything feel natural (even though it's totally unnatural to me to have someone following me around telling me how to pose). The photos ARE AMAZING! We sent the proofs to our family and friends to help us decide which we wanted to use in our albums and we have so many people telling us that they are the MOST amazing pictures they have ever seen. I've already had at least 10 people ask me who my photographer was because they were just so stunning. While the whole day was beautiful, he made it look like it was a celebrity wedding with the way he took pics. The photos should be in a magazine. I would absolutely recommend Matthew Sowa to anyone who asks. He is worth every penny, he's fun, he's energetic and as far as I'm concerned a photographic genius. Just a quick note -- we also had Matthew for our Day After shot .He has such an eye for unique beauty and found the best composition for every shot. IQ Photo is A+ and five stars in my book!

We have gotten so many compliments on our album and both of our families cannot stop raving about how gorgeous the pictures are, even over a year later. Matthew was so great during our initial consultation and he and his assistant were wonderful on the day of the wedding. They caught all the action in a breathtaking way and really captured the emotion of the day. When it came time to put together the album, Matthew was very patient with me, even though I requested numerous changes. But he still managed to engage my family and friends and mingled almost like a guest. Matthew came hihgly reccommended and actually was able to EXCEED my expectations which I thought would be impossible! I can honestly say that I think we have the best wedding photos I've ever seen. I hope every bride can say that about their photos too. Matthew was so easy to work with. He met with us multiple times in advance and after and was very patient and accommodating. Day of he was very professional, discreet and was really able to capture our day with photos, catching every moment and telling a beautiful story. I can really say that I think Matthew works really hard for you to make sure he is getting the best shots and also to capture everything. I would also HIGHLY reccommend doing the day after shoot!! This was really the best part AND so much fun. It takes the pressure off day of. You don't have to worry about traveling to different locations and worrying that you didn't get enough portraits. We were able to get a lot day of but nothing can compare to the day after shoot. Plus you get to wear your dress again!! Matthew's albums are also gorgeous, we had never seen albums like them. Again, top notch. His second shooter was great as well. I'm so grateful we found Matthew. I don't think anyone else would compare. If you're lucky enough to have found him, hire him! You will be grateful too.

I as all moms of brides was nervous about my first daughter getting married.. is he the right one for her, is she the right wife for him, will they be happy, are they ready.. all of those questions kept entering my head until we received Matthew Sowas Engagement shoot proofs back. I can rest assure that both of our children were so madly in love with each other and the happiest they have ever been, in their lives by looking at the true emotion on their faces in each and every picture! The unique shots that Matthew was able to "direct" were just fantastic. His "vintage" take on these non traditional shots were just what we as a family were looking for. Outdated are those wedding pictures from our affair 30 years ago, when the entire bridal party were continuosly told to fix their collars, turn their heads slightly, look up, look down, turn sideways, upside down etc, fix their bow ties... now all can be naturally shot with Matthews professional direction. Matthew was so professional and unintrusive at the affair that no one knew he was even snapping away the thousands of shots he took that day/evening. There werent any invasive lights, ladders or huge cameras, just two extremely talented and artistic geniuses who got the job done without any interference to guests or the bridal party and presented us with so many stunning pictures to choose from. Although I will be the first to tell you that my son in law and daughter are extremely beautiful people to begin with... Matthew pictures managed to enhance their features and magnify the love that they have for each other. I would NOT waste my time researching other photographers, just go to Matthew Sowas blog and/or website and see for yourself. His prices are in line with all of the other photographers that are near his abilities and he will work with you on exactly what you are looking for and your individual needs. We had an assistant as well, who was just as incredible as Matthew is. They offered two distinct looks which gave our family every single look and shot we could have hoped for. Matthew will have a complete open line of communication with you and always get back to you regarding any questions or concerns you might have. Matthew Sowa is a MUST HAVE at any upcoming affair. We have two other daughters who will be hopefully getting married in the near future and will definitely book Matthew before the Venue is even booked. I've never met a photographer with an eye like Matthew. He is a true perfectionist, and puts so much time and effort into his work. After our engagement pictures, I knew our wedding photos would be stunning. We just got them back and I am in love! He captured EVERY little moment that flies by in those few hours- and so creatively and artistically. Matthew Sowa has gone above and wayyy beyond my expectations!
