October 9th, 2021 was the most happiest day of my life. When Paul and I got engaged 5 years ago we both knew we wanted a beach wedding. Coral Sands came recommended to me by a fellow co-worker that attended a wedding there previously. So Coral Sands was the first and only place we looked at. Katie Prestwood was an absolute GEM to work with. She was professional in everything she did, even having a baby in the midst of planning. But she was back for the big day and it went off without a hitch.
ALL of our guests said it was one of the best weddings they had attended and had the most fun ever. The weather was perfect for a beach wedding and outside reception under the tent.
I highly recommend this place for a very low key and personal wedding. It fit our budget as we were both married previously and were engaged so long, we were looking for somewhere where we could just have a great party with all of our friends.
So many of our guests never knew about Coral Sands and we had almost everyone at the wedding book rooms to stay and make a great weekend of it. Some have even returned for a weekend after the wedding.
I can't say enough about Katie and her staff. Do yourself a favor and take a peek and this "Little Gem" of a place.
I want to say this venue is PERFECT for a quiet and romantic wedding! The view is amazing next to the ocean, and the outside reception area is amazing the way it is set up. I do recommend a dance floor! Katie Prestwood is the coordinator, We couldnt of had a better person who made this much easier than it would have been without her. She was always there to answer and help with any problems or questions we thought we had leading up to our big day. Katie did not mind staying late to help us out, she was an absolute gem! Thank you coral sands and Katie for the best day we could of asked for, it was perfect! Our families and friends loved the venue just as we did. My wife and I totally recommend this venue! You will not be disappointed!
The team there was so helpful before and the day of. We would highly recommend this location for a beach wedding.
I can't say enough good things about our experience with having our wedding at Coral Sands! Our original wedding plans fell thru because of Covid, but I was able to find a micro wedding package (Daytona Micro Weddings run by Jennifer Juniper events....absolutely AMAZING!!!!) and one of our wedding venue options was Coral Sands. My now husband and I decided this was our top choice and we have no regrets! Such a great experience with everything! I cannot say enough great things about our "Plan B" wedding. The gazebo area where we got married was beautiful! And even though it of course rained on and off throughout the day, they made it work and the transition was so smooth and easy. Plus, we were able to stay in their honeymoon cottage the night of our wedding. It was so cute and perfect!! Thank you so much to Katie Prestwood and Coral Sands for making our special day that much more special!!
Don't even hesitate, book it now! It was the most beautiful setting and Coral Sands, especially Katie, were amazing to work with. Between the coral sand beaches, the well maintained lawn, three poster fence and the gorgeous tent it was a stunning setting. (PS we got to use the tent all weekend, Friday we used it for welcome drinks after the rehearsal dinner and Sunday we did a small breakfast in the tent as well.)
We planned our wedding in 7 months and from the moment we said yes to Coral Sands it was smooth sailing. My parents live in Ormond Beach and my husband and I live in Philadelphia so it was partially planned from a distance. Katie was responsive and anything we threw at her she made it work. Different colored chairs, long tables instead of round, a caterer that had never done a wedding before, new band, a million questions from me, no problem! She thought of things we wouldn't have thought of like a sound system for the wedding to make sure our guests could hear over the waves.
We did our wedding on the beach in front of the tent at 3:30pm, end of November as the sun was setting. (I would say do the beach it was perfection, they do have other options but why not!) Katie not only helped with the rehearsal the day before but was there to take my sandals from me before I walked down the aisle.
The tent, table, chairs and linens were all beautiful. Since it was later in the year she even got us heaters just a week out from the wedding. They were perfect for our older guests. She checked in with us the day before and the day of but was never intrusive.
Ormond beach doesn't require a permit for bonfires, just a fire ring which we got from amazon and did one on the beach after the wedding, a great ending to the prefect beach wedding/party.
Most of our out of town guests stayed in the cottages and hotel. They couldn't say enough about how accommodating the staff was. The resort looked beautiful and it was so nice to have everything in one spot.
Our guests continue to say it was the best, most beautiful and fun wedding they have ever been to. My husband and I keep saying we wish we could do the wedding day again. We will be back to Coral Sands to relive the best day of our lives.
If you’re looking for the perfect spot for a beach wedding, Coral Sands is it! Our daughter was married on the beach there last weekend and it couldn’t have been more wonderful.
After the ceremony on the beach, the reception was held in a large tent on the hotel grounds overlooking the ocean. Katie Prestwood, the event coordinator, went out of her way to make sure all of our needs were met to make the ceremony and the reception perfect. She is great to work with and very responsive to all of our questions and suggestions.
All of our guests, who were mostly from out of town, raved about the hotel, the grounds and the kindness of the staff at Coral Sands.
We couldn’t have asked for a better place to have our daughter’s wedding.
