Cork Catering & Special Events

Working with Cork and Jennifer Messerges was a fabulous experience! Our wedding reception was held in a large, open, empty loft space and they helped us to fill the space and make it look stunning! We have received nothing but compliments on our food. Cork offers very innovative and delicious dishes at a reasonable price. We had a vision in mind of what the food should be at our wedding and Cork really delivered. We had shopped around at several catering companies and nobody even came close to giving us what we wanted within our budget. Cork stuck to the budget and still delivered magnificent food - very impressive. We were sold on the food at the tasting. I dare you to find better tasting dishes from another caterer in Chicago! Cork was very flexible as well, and Jennifer took all of our crazy mind-changes (of which there were many...) in stride, and had helpful suggestions on how best to pull off our vision. I could not say enough good things about this company. You will not be disappointed!

Early in our planning my husband and I decided that we wanted to serve Italian Beef for our wedding, which is a Chicago tradition. It's also a very casual food that we wanted served in a more upscale fashion than usual. Corky's did a great job meeting our needs. We selected our menu from their offerings and then set up a tasting - the tasting costs $25 but if you use them as your caterer, it is deducted from your final bill. We knew that we wanted a buffet-style menu and were careful in our entree selections, but when it came to the big day, the food tasted just as good as it did in the small portion we had at our tasting. Corky's also provided china rentals and handled the cutting and plating of our cake. Our coordinator Sandra was on the ball and even though it took her a couple of days to respond sometimes, ultimately she was always attentive to our needs. We really appreciated their willingness to provide a few servings of a vegetarian entree so that our veg guests wouldn't be limited to bread and salad! She was also very helpful in working with us in pricing to stay within our budget. I wish that the portions had been a little larger (by the time the last table visited the buffet, most of the food was really depleted) and that the waitstaff hadn't been nearly as aggressive about bussing the tables (our guests complained about their drinks disappearing when they set them down to dance for 5 minutes) but overall we had a great experience with Corky's and I'd definitely use them again for another catered event!

I'm so glad I chose Cork to do my catering for my wedding at the South Shore Cultural Center. They brought my vision to life with beautiful linens, excellent service and great tasting food. My contact Jennifer Anderson was amazing and worked closely with me and my planner to deliver my dream wedding within budget. Highly recommended.

I used Cory's Catering, Cork's more affordable catering side. In the very beginning I had trouble getting a hold of someone to schedule a tasting and get information, but once I did the service was good. I was stuck to having a 10,000 wedding or less and Corky's was affordable, yet the food quality was not sub-par. My catering manager was there for the prep and until dinner was served and everything went as planned. Some of my guests even raved about the vegetable medley and lemon chicken! :-)
