Working with Cortney was A DREAM. If you don’t read anything else, beyond this, know that Cortney creates the most gorgeous cakes that ALSO TASTE AMAZING. The wedding cake has always been a part of the wedding I was very excited for and wanted to make a beautiful spectacle of it - Cortney made my vision come to life! She was incredible to work with from the first meeting looking at inspiration photos, colors and getting to know me and my style. Her attention to detail, understanding for my vision and creativity helped bring the 7 tier cake together. She encouraged me to sketch an idea of what I wanted the cake to look like (totally optional, I enjoy drawing so was very excited to do that) then she used that as inspiration paired with her cake creation expertise to bring it to life. She took my ideas and what decor she knew would work within my budget which was greatly appreciated. I was planning the wedding from out of town and she was more than willing to accommodate phone calls and whatever it took. She even let me send her a paint swatch in the mail so she could color match the frosting to perfectly go with our wedding decor. It was a beautiful work of art, Cortney is capable of creating the most gorgeous cakes! Not only that, I had handfuls of guests reach out to me after the wedding complimenting how obviously magical the cake looked, but even more so, how DELICIOUS it tasted. Usually that’s a trade off. By far the best tasting wedding cake and any cake I’ve ever had (and my guests agreed verbatim). Her wedding white flavor is incredibly special for such a simple flavor. Her strawberries and champagne flavor also blew our guests away. You will definitely want to plan to have extra ;) Light, airy, yet moist. Sweet, but not too sweet. I could not recommend Cortney more to future brides or anyone who is looking for a beautiful delicious cake for any occasion. Cortney was great to work with! We met her at a tasting and fell in love with the cupcakes. We knew we wanted a cake for us and cupcakes for the guests, but she helped us choose the right size cake and number of cupcakes. I provided a picture of what I’d like the cake to look like, and it turned out exactly as I imagined it would! Everyone at the reception commented on how good the cupcakes were, and I can’t wait to eat our the layer we saved on our one year anniversary!

So happy we were able to have Cortney be apart of our special day. She did an awesome job turning our cake and cupcake table into a reality. I used Cortney for our wedding cake. On our initial meeting, she was very friendly and made the process so seamless. We sampled a few different flavors which were all delicious. She let me take a sample home to my now husband who couldn’t make it. Our cake ended up beautiful and delicious! All night people were telling me it was the best wedding cake they’ve had! I would for sure recommend her to all brides!

My son got married and they had Cortney make cupcakes instead of a traditional wedding cake. The cupcakes were fantastic! Cortney was great to work with as well. She was so interested in how the event went when we returned her cupcake containers to her as well. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Courtney was a joy to work with! She delivered a wedding cake that enormously exceeded our expectations. Our cake was 4 layers; Strawberries N’ Champagne, Red Velvet, Sweet Almond Maraschino Cherry, and Chocolate Mocha (with a raspberry filling) and a buttercream frosting. The cake was perfectly baked and decorated, and it tasted great!

After trying 5 other bakers, we knew Cortney was the one! We absolutely LOVED her cake. The cake is moist, flavors are wonderful (not fake tasting like some places) and the frosting is to die for! Cortney helped me create the perfect vision for my cake and then made it come to life! She combined multiple ideas for my 4 tiered wedding cake and it was just what I had been looking for! Guests raved about how delicious the cake was and only 4 pieces were left at the end of the night. Perfect for a late night snack! Cortney is very kind and really cares about her customers. We found Cortney via a bridal show when we sampled some of her cake and we're immediately hooked with her spice cake. We knew we had to have it for our wedding cake. She worked with us to do a tasting and go over what designs we would like. Ultimately we decided on a 2-tiered cake then a bunch of cupcakes for everyone. We showed her examples of what we wanted with the cake and gave her creative freedom and she knocked it out of the park! The design was perfect and exactly what we wanted. The cupcakes were a huge hit at the wedding too as everyone loved them and told us many times how good they were. I even had a friend text me a few days later saying how he missed those cupcakes and wish he could have more. Thank you for making the cake we dreamed off and helping make our day special!

We hired Cortney for our wedding through my mother-in-law who has used her in the past for multiple events and she did NOT disappoint! Although I didn't get to eat much, everything looked AMAZING. Cortney is absolutely amazing! She made a beautiful small tiered cake and cupcakes for our wedding, and everything was absolutely delicious! One of my friends said it was the best frosting he's ever had, and I definitely agreed! Cortney was also very easy to work with, and she was very quick to respond to any questions through email or text message. I never had to worry about not being able to get a hold of her, which made planning much less stressful! The cake turned out beautiful, and I loved that she was willing to help me include a small figurine of my dog on the cake, it was adorable!

From the very beginning conversations to the final product, Cortney was amazing to work with, communicates well and absolutely knows what she is doing in every aspect of her craft. Our wedding order included cupcakes for 150 guests and a two tiered cake which was perfectly decorated to bring our birch bark vision to life! I'm a person who loves unique, artistic features and I believe when you hire an artist to create a piece for you, you give them an idea and let them run. Cortney did just that and created a unique piece of art just for us. Aside from how beautiful everything turned out, they tasted AMAZING! Our guests loved the cupcakes (wedding white and chocolate) and still rave about them whenever the topic comes up. Wow! Wow! Wow! I wish I could give more than 5 stars to Cortney! She far exceeded any expectation I had for my daughter’s wedding cake! To think I just gave her a picture of what I was hoping she could recreate for us and she magically made it happen just like that. My daughter’s wedding was a Disney theme wedding and this cake was most definitely the cherry on top! Not only was it beautiful, Cortney’s cakes are also the most moist and delicious cakes you will ever taste. She also made cupcakes for my daughter’s bridal shower that were beautiful and delicious! But that wedding cake was almost to beautiful to cut into! You can’t go wrong if you decide to go with Cortney, she is the most caring person and has a vision for your event and makes it happen. She stays well connected with you during the whole process starting from the first time you meet her at the taste test, (which was quite the treat all the way through) to the end when she finalizes the final details of your cake. I can’t imagine ever going with anyone else, her cakes and cupcakes leave you wanting more, every bite is so rewarding. Right now while I’m writing this I am craving another bite! I have found a friend for life with CortneyGirls Cake Closet! Trust me, it will be the best decision you make if you select her to be your vendor for your wedding cake!

Cortney was one of the recommendations from our wedding planner and I'm so glad she was! The first time we met Cortney we knew she would not only be our wedding cake baker but our new "family baker"! I can't even count the amazing compliments we received on her cake and cupcakes. So many people told us they normally don't like cake but something about Cortney's cake kept making them go back for cupcakes throughout the night. I was blown away when I saw our cake on our wedding day. I was able to provide Cortney with a picture of a cake that I liked and she nailed the design without using fondant like the original cake. Cortney is such an amazing person herself and when you talk to her it feels like you are talking to a friend you have known forever. We got 3 different flavors of cupcakes for the guests at our wedding and one small cake for the wedding party. They all turned out delicious and the display was beautiful! We got many compliments on the cupcakes, even from people who don’t usually like cake. Cortney was super friendly and quick to respond to emails and texts throughout the entire process. She also gave us many ideas for colors and decorations. Having Cortney as our baker took away a lot of stress during wedding planning as she stayed in close communication with us throughout the process. Her delicious desserts and friendly service will not disappoint!

As a guest of many weddings where the cake and/or desserts were only so-so, I was very skeptical that I would be able to find a cake baker that was a crowd-pleaser. Let me tell you, we won the jackpot when we found Cortney! Her cake and buttercream is the best I have ever tasted, and she is so friendly and prompt and super sweet. There was literally no cake left at the wedding and I had so many people come up to ask me who did the cake. We had three flavors served (lemon drop, French vanilla, and double dark chocolate fudge) and multiple people had all 3 flavors because they couldn't stop at 1! We are looking forward to using Cortney in the future for other parties, events, or the occasional need for something sweet. :)

We had Cortney do cupcakes and cake for our wedding on 9-19-2020. After our original cake vendor fell through, we found Cortney and couldn’t have been happier with our cakes and cupcakes! We had Cortney make 96 cupcakes with four different flavors (strawberry champagne, chocolate, vanilla with raspberry filling, and lemon drop) along with a two tier small cake (approximately 36ish servings). Guest count was 98 and we had no cake or cupcakes left over at the end of the night! Cake and cupcakes are amazing and very moist! We also had some guest with diary free restrictions which Cortney was able to accommodate. Would highly recommend!

Cortney is so great to work with! She baked our two-tier cake for our June 27 wedding. From the moment I met Cortney I was super comfortable with her. She is down-to-earth, super friendly, and warm. She feels like a friend even though I've only met her in-person 3 times! She makes delicious cake. At the tasting we tried wedding white and yellow (both with vanilla buttercream), pumpkin with cream cheese icing, and carrot cake (maybe also with cream cheese icing? I can't recall). All were delicious. Comparing the pumpkin and carrot, we personally preferred the pumpkin. I didn't have a desire for a super fancy cake, nor did I have a specific design in mind, but I knew I wanted to use my Sola wood flowers for decoration (the same ones I would be using in my centerpieces and as part of my bouquet). The final product was beautiful and tasted amazing! I am very excited to dig into the top tier that we saved for our one year anniversary.

Courtney’s cakes are amazing! My sister’s wedding and reception was held at my house and Courtney did a fabulous job with her beautiful, delicate, original wedding cake.
