Our elopement ceremony was absolutely perfect here. Incredible accommodations, great recommendations and communication from the host, and an absolutely stunning and functional venue. Ryan has done an amazing job at renovating and restoring this beautiful site while keeping guest comfort and ease of access in mind. To top it all off, our kiddo forgot his stuffed puppy and Ryan went above and beyond by shipping it back to us in Ohio, which our little guy is incredibly grateful for. Absolutely top notch service from someone who has truly put their heart and soul into this project. The amount of love needed to fully restore a historical building is clearly felt here, and even more reason to make this the place to say “I do.”
We had an amazing time having our wedding here! It was absolutely beautiful! Ryan was so much help with whatever we needed! He was always available for what ever we needed!

Corton Lodge is a beautifully restored 1913 church transformed into a one-of-a-kind wedding and event destination along the Elk River in West Virginia. Built on gratitude and restoration, the Lodge offers couples a serene and soulful setting surrounded by 200 acres of forest, riverfront, and walking trails.
Every inch of Corton Lodge tells a story — from handcrafted white oak furniture milled on the property to locally sourced stonework and stained glass preserved from the original church. Two luxury suites, the Bell Tower and the Riverview, provide peaceful overnight accommodations with custom tile, wrap-around decks, and breathtaking views.

What began as the restoration of a 1913 church has grown into a deeply personal mission to create a place of peace, beauty, and connection in the wilds of West Virginia. After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, Ryan found healing and purpose in the process of rebuilding — milling local hardwoods, restoring original craftsmanship, and transforming history into a sanctuary for celebration. Every detail of Corton Lodge carries his touch and his belief that love and gratitude can be built into the very walls of a place. Ryan personally welcomes each couple with the warmth of a host who truly cares. His passion for craftsmanship, storytelling, and community gives every wedding and event at Corton Lodge a sense of authenticity that guests remember long after the day has passed.
