Our experience with the Country Inn & Suites was a battle from the beginning. I called the sales director, Mike, several times at different times during the week to set up a time t...
o see the reception spaces and he never responded. After finally getting a hold of him, the associate sales director, Jessica, was able to show me around the space. The Nebraska Room is well set up and has everything for a wedding or event and it was priced well with a $500 rental fee. Jessica assured me they would provide white linens, chair covers, access to vases and other various decorations including vase filler and mirrors, and the new catering menu would average between $15 and $18 a plate. After reviewing their vague contract for the room, I noticed there was no food or drink minimum. After voicing my concerns to Jessica, she assured me this could be added later and there was nothing to worry about. We had originally been planning on a guest list of 275 people. When I asked about setting up the room block, I told her all of our guests would be from out of town and we would need a lot of rooms. She said due to hotel policy we would start with 15 rooms then add on as they filled up. I thought that sounded reasonable at the time and I signed the contract for the room block and the Nebraska room in August. After signing the contract and putting down a deposit, I was told the new restaurant would have a catering menu ready by October. I did not hear from either Mike or Jessica for months. Every week I was told they would have the menu by the end of the week and never received one. I would email Jessica questions and they would go unanswered for weeks at a time. I would call the hotel trying to get some answers and I would be greeted by rude front desk staff. I found out my guests were not able to book rooms in the block and there was no reservation for my fiance and me for the honeymoon suite which I had specifically reserved when I signed the room block contract. We sorted the room situation out with the front desk staff and again booked the honeymoon suite. Finally, in January Jessica seemed to start answering some of my questions. I talked to her in detail and sent her a follow-up email about what we had discussed. I asked again about a menu, bar prices, linens, and a decoration inventory to start getting a better idea of how much everything would cost. Again my email went unanswered. I went to the hotel in person to find out that neither Mike nor Jessica worked there anymore. I was able to meet with the temporary sales director and she told me they could not get chair covers, they were only recently able to get table linens, there were no decorations I would be able to use, the honeymoon suite was still not booked for us and had been a booked by someone else, the whole hotel was full and our room block could not be expanded beyond the 15 rooms, and the food and bar would cost almost double the original price. When COVID-19 set in, my fiance and I decided to cancel our reservation with Country Inne & Suites completely. Signing anything with them was a mistake. Both Mike and Jessica blatantly lied to my face about catering, the room block, decorations, bar pricing, and their willingness to have my wedding. What seemed like a great deal turned into a nightmare.
I thought our overall stay was good but we were suppose to have a shuttle and my husband and I never received a ride
We set up a room block here, stayed here the night of our wedding, and had a brunch here the next day. They have a deal that if your guests book 15 nights, they'll give you a free s...
uite. A couple of days before the deadline we were at 13 and they said that was close enough and gave us the suite. It was large, clean, and beautiful. They also let us bring in welcome bags that they gave to our guests when they checked in. We had a guest miss the deadline for reservations, but they let him reserve anyway. We reserved one of their meeting rooms for brunch on Sunday and they set up everything and took it all down when we were done. The food was delicious and most people said it was the best they ever had. I'm really glad we chose this hotel to work with, because they went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of.
Loved the space, loved almost everyone I worked with (a couple workers wernt that friendly but everyone else made up for it) Food was pretty expensive but they had cheaper options ...
to choose, just a bummer cause you dont get to keep your leftovers and I had alot of no shows so all that food in the trash. Overall it worked great for what we needed and they were very acomadating.
Nice hotel, people are friendly but it just was not close enough for my guest to my location!
I used this venue for my June 26th Wedding. They were very helpful, everything went as planned and they were always there to answer my questions!
