I am a hair and makeup artist, and I am also a vendor in the bridal industry. I have worked with many photographers, and Courtney is and has been one of my top favorites of all time! Her attention to detail and her eye for the perfect shot makes her photos magical. She is an absolute joy to work with, she is easy-going and very friendly. As someone who has worked with Courtney multiple times (wedding planner here), I can honestly say that she is incredible in what she does. She's professional, efficient and takes amazing photos. She is hands down one of the most talented photographers I have ever had the opportunity of working with. Courtney and I recently worked on an Editorial Shoot at The Four Seasons in Seattle WA. The experience was completely seamless with her. She brought years of experience and talent to the shoot, capturing some incredible moments that truly showcased all of the hard work that went into the day. We had an amazing time working with Courtney throughout our engagement and up to our wedding! We got our engagement photos done with her first, which we loved. Planning proved a challenge with us not living in the area and with the pandemic, but Courtney worked with us through everything and was always there to answer all our questions and help us navigate our changing plans. We loved Courtney! Such a light during such a difficult year. We had to postpone our wedding from June to August 22nd, due to COVID, Courtney rolled with the punches right along with us. She is so uplifting and helpful, not just as a photographer, but offered advice on other vendors, locations, and professional advice on planning all parts of our wedding. I still can't pick my favorites, and I'm so glad we had Courtney as our photographer, I will continue to recommend her to friends and family!

Courtney was our photographer for our wedding on September 20th, 2020. We were one of the couples who had to face the hard decisions of "what are we going to do". Courtney went above and beyond to help us through our wedding planning year... between the endless texting, ideas, scheduling, and rescheduling, she never hesitated to help us find new and creative ideas that were unique to us. We are absolutely thrilled that we have had the opportunity to know Courtney and to see the passion that goes into her art. She captured our day beautifully and graciously went with the flow of our unexpected micro-wedding. We can't recommend her enough. It's very apparent that Courtney loves what she does when you look at her photography. She captured every moment, every breath, and every emotion that my husband and I felt on our wedding day. COVID Bride here, and all that that represents. I planned my wedding for almost 2 years and the best decision I made 6 months into planning was booking Courtney Bowlden as my photographer. I saw her photos through Facebook, and then I saw a photo book at a venue when I was touring and knew her photo style was exactly what I wanted, then I met her and instantly clicked and knew she was someone I wanted to capture my wedding day. Throughout planning my big day Courtney had many helpful tips and was very responsive back to every e-mail. She helped with putting together my timeline and helped with other vendors to book, just everything. And then COVID hit. Courtney, I felt, was by myside the entire time as my wedding day morphed into something else. At first, since I was end of June, I wanted to hold out for the big wedding, and as the phases were announced I knew it was time to adjust things. I had never been to an elopement so I had no idea how to even start planning it. Well Courtney helped every step of the way. Even when my make-up artist backed out and Courtney saved the day and gave me another list of potential artist to reach out to and I found the perfect one. So perfect because not only did I look great but she also fixed my dress when the claps on it broke (make sure you have your sew kit with you ladies!). Now as you can see an elopement was never my “dream.” I wanted the big day, all the people, all the wows, all the things. But it meant more to me to marry my Husband then all the things I wanted, and I wouldn’t change a thing. Everyone says your wedding day goes by so fast, and it does, even with having a total of 10 people. But I can tell you that I made connections and memories with each of my family members that I would not have had if I had the big wedding. If COVID has taught us anything, it is we don’t know what tomorrow brings, I am so glad I have these memories with my family because who knows what’s going to happen by next year. I also actually got to spend some quality time with my husband the day we got married and wasn’t bustling between tables to make sure we said hi to everyone. The day was about us. I originally wanted a first look to be more efficient with photos but since it was a small ceremony we ended up being able to have the first time we saw each other be as I walked down the trail towards him, and I still get goose bumps thinking about it. Our photos are breathtaking as well, not only did we have Courtney but since we got married at Rosario Beach the back drop was stunning (it was also the location of one of our first dates). We will have photos that we never would have gotten if we had the Big Day at the Big Venue. As for what my plan is for all the money I have down for all my vendors, I get to have the BIGGEST 1 year anniversary party! I get to see my husband dressed in his suit again, by the way I am so happy he bought his suit because he looked AMAZING! AND I get to wear my wedding dress again. We get to celebrate with ALL of our family and ALL of our friends with less pressure next year. It will really be about celebrating with our guest. Everyone says your first year of marriage is the toughest, and we get to celebrate it with everyone and I cannot wait.

Courtney is absolutely incredible! We love her! We originally booked our wedding date in June of 2020, yet due to Covid we have rescheduled multiple times. What is typically a stressful process of rescheduling a wedding, she has been with us throughout the entire process and has been so supportive and flexible. With the future so unknown, my now husband and I Had a small marriage ceremony with family and close friends at Rosario Park in Anacortes. What was originally suppose to be our engagement photo session became our wedding photos number one. (We hope to a have bigger celebration in 2021). She took such gorgeous photos of all the details, our personalities and you can tell she gives 100% with every couple she interacts with . She is so personable, and not only do my husband and I love her but my whole family! I highly recommend everyone to book her! You will don’t be disappointed, seriously ! :)

Courtney is amazing!! We booked Courtney in the summer of 2019 for our wedding on June 20, 2020. As we approached closer to our wedding date, we ended up cancelling our entire wedding due to COVID-19 and decided to elope with immediate family and siblings only. Courtney was very flexible, positive, and supportive of our decision to change everything with the situation at hand. She is great at communication and took the time to get to know myself and my husband. She was very caring, loving and fun! Courtney suggested an elopement spot to us and it ended up being one of the most beautiful places we had ever seen in the mountains. On our elopement day Courtney made us feel very comfortable and we had THE BEST DAY EVER. We got our photos back 3 weeks later and we are so happy with the end result. The quality of her photos are some of the best we have ever seen. We 100% recommend her to everyone and will definitely book her again for future photography needs in our family.

Courtney was perfect for our intimate wedding at Suncadia resort. She knew the area well and exactly which spots would produce stunning scenic photos. Courtney was hands down wonderful!! Talented and Personal:) She was humorous, and kept us on track with time. I did not think I would have been the nervous bride, but I mostly was!! I first started looking for a photographer for my wedding in Washington, but when a change of plans happened and we moved it to Hawaii, she followed us out there and had an AMAZING elopement package. I can't say enough good things about Courtney and her assistant! Leading up to our wedding, she was quick to respond with any questions we may have had and she was punctual the day of the wedding. If you take nothing else away from this review, it is this: Courtney's photos are a treasure. We got married in August at a park amphitheater in Snohomish. We didn't have a lot to spend on a wedding but the photography was important to me and it was the first thing I planned. I searched google images with 'Seattle" in the search bar to find the most stunning, standout photographs and track them to their photographer. When I noticed names come up more than once, I started a list. It was a long list, but over several weeks I narrowed it down. I tended toward "fine art photography," I discovered, and found myself reading articles about photographers’ use of natural light, etcetera… But finally, when I met Courtney in person, I felt completely at ease. Courtney's presence at our wedding was calming and her photography of course was beautiful. Thank you so much Courtney. Your photos of our wedding are our treasure.

Words cannot express how much I adore Courtney. We first found Courtney through her blog - she photographed a wedding at our venue two years ago and the photos were stunning. From the moment I first got in touch with Courtney, her genuine outlook and organized approach helped me feel comfortable and excited! As someone who also doesn't love having her photo taken, Courtney makes you feel calm and beautiful. Because she's a Bellingham photographer and we're down in Tacoma, she was extremely flexible with timelines, and we also opted to have her photograph the rehearsal dinner versus meeting her for an engagement session. It's great to have those pictures now, too! Kelsey, Courtney's assistant, is also fantastic. She's bubbly and fun, and made all of the groomsmen, bridesmaids, and families feel comfortable. Her detail shots are also AMAZING. All of our photos are so beautiful - I can't stop staring at them. I highly recommend reaching out to Courtney if you're looking for an insanely talented, bright and bubbly photographer.

She was the single best investment for our day. Creative, classic, fun, stunning photos, that made us all feel extra beautiful and look perfect. She was always early, and helped keep the day running smooth.

Courtney was a blast to work with! Our Bridal party loved working with her as well and she was so easy to get along with. We did an engagement shoot with her as well and all the pictures turned out beautiful. She was so easy to work with and she also worked around our schedules to make things happen! Courtney is the best! She is so talented in what she does. She photographed our wedding perfectly! She is also the most kind, approachable, and least judgmental person. She has no ego or stuck up bone in her body! It was tough for my husband and I to find someone that exceeded all our expectations (there was a lot!) as he does wedding photography on the side. I really wanted a videographer as well, but it wasn't in the budget for us. When we got our photos back (less than 3 weeks from our wedding and it was during peak season of August!) My (now) husband and I spent more hours looking for the right photographer than anything else for our wedding, and I'm glad to say the hours paid off! Courtney was absolutely the right photographer! Her style is the perfect blend of classic and modern and she is also the best value we could find for such high quality photos. Courtney is incredible! Photography was one of the most important aspects of our wedding, as far as vendors and logistics go. It was important that we found not only a quality photographer, but also someone we (and our puppy) got along with. Courtney exceeded our expectations! They are both kind, friendly, outgoing enough to make anyone feel comfortable, yet able to blend in to let the bride and groom and family have our intimate ceremony and celebration. We love how our pictures turned out! She captured the moments I requested and of course many more! We were so happy that her and Kelsey are dog people that loved on our puppy and included her in photos. Courtney captures fleeting facial expressions, stunning scenery, and incorporates texture with a beautiful use of light. We are looking forward to staying in touch and working with her again in the future.

I honestly can’t say enough positive things about Courtney. She is fabulous. Her outgoing personality is contagious and her genuinely sweet nature makes the idea of getting photographed fun and comfortable. My now husband was not excited about getting engagement photos but 5 minutes into our 30 minute photoshoot – he actually said “this is fun”. I couldn’t believe how many photos we were able to get in that timeframe. Courtney is quick, efficient and full of ideas. I was able to put together an entire guestbook album from our 30 minute session where no shot looked the same. After seeing our engagement photos I had two friends immediately email her to do their family photos. Courtney on our wedding day was like a breath of fresh air. I felt so comfortable and just knew she had this. It was like having another friend in the room. Leading up to the wedding she checked in on me and was quick to answer and reassure me of any questions I had. She was more than just a photographer, she in a way, acted as a coordinator by looking over my schedule to ensure the day and what I had planned looked “right”. If anyone knows how a wedding should flow it’s your photographer! I can’t end this review without also mentioning how amazing Courtney’s assistant was. She (without asking) put on all the groomsmen’s boutonnieres, corralled the bridal party and offered to give me her coat between photos - in January! My husband and I will 100% use Courtney for future family photos and continue to recommend her to all our friends. She really is so fun, so sweet and so talented.

I’m so impressed with her talent, attention to detail, and responsiveness. She also took our engagement photos, which I would highly recommend to any couple planning to get married. My husband isn’t too warm on taking photographs and it allowed us the opportunity to get to know her before our wedding and make him a bit more comfortable. Courtney was seriously amazing! She was always professional and on top of her game. Not only that but was really quick at responding to emails, which was very helpful when you are trying to get wedding planning stuff done. She made my fiancé and I feel totally comfortable. We were both in love with our engagement pictures and our wedding pictures. I shopped around for a while trying to book a photographer and it felt like everyone was overpriced and we would only get them for 6 hours tops + additional money for every hour as well as only 1 photographer. But Courtney was really reasonably priced and we had her there the entire night with a second photographer. She got our wedding pictures back to us just a few days over a month which we were totally not expecting since we got married during the busy season. I would definitely recommend Courtney! We cannot say enough amazing things about Courtney!! I am very picky when it comes to photography and from the moment I saw Courtney's work I fell in love! Not only does she take INCREDIBLE pictures but she is also the sweetest, friendliest person you will ever meet. You will feel like best friends in minutes! Courtney is absolutely incredible. She is so sweet, genuine, and seriously hilarious. She did our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos and I was nearly in tears at the end of our wedding because I don't know when we'll see her again. The first time I met her I felt like I'd met my new best friend. Her assistant Kassidy is just as fun and kind as she is. I honestly couldn't imagine a better duo to hang out with for 8+ hours on my wedding day--I don't think there is one. Aside from her amazing personality, Courtney is ridiculously talented. Courtney Bowlden and her assistant were so incredibly easy to work with, and right from our first meeting we felt comfortable with them. Our flower order didn't arrive, and we had a crazy morning throwing our timeline off big time. She was flexible with start time and dealing with us running around like crazy to squeeze in photos before the ceremony. Due to the time, we weren't able to shoot photos where we wanted, but she was quick to suggest other beautiful locations. In addition, after a long day of shooting, she even accompanied us to our late afterparty 30 min away to capture a few last photos. Courtney and Francys were an amazing duo at our wedding. From the get-go, my husband and I loved Courtney's vibe, she was sincere, down to earth, and open to suggestions. She was able to capture the photos we wanted for our engagement shoot and despite the weather on our wedding day (terrible rain), she was creative and accommodating. I love that she has an assistant who is not only a gem but also focuses on the details (rings, shoes, behind-the-scenes) while Courtney is able to focus on the bigger picture, they truly compliment each other and the end product, we're more than pleased and thankful for having them take part in our special day. Courtney is so awesome. I have yet to see my entire wedding album but from the one picture in our sneak peek... I am in love! She and her sidekick were so easy to work with and totally planned well on their toes when they were trying to select a perfect fall scene for our first look. She maid my now husband and I feel so good in front of the camera and all during the ceremony and wedding. You need a photographer that can both mesh well with you and your s/o and also value your day-of schedule and keep you on track. Hands down, never skimp out on photographer and find someone who gets your style/shots/and vibe! She was a little over our budget but she fit the bill for all three of the things I listed above :)

Courtney and her second photographer, Francys, were the perfect wedding photographers for us! They have fantastic personalities and were able to put us at ease. Once the wedding began, I didn't even notice them snapping away. Not only did we get beautiful poses and framing, they shot many candid photos which captured true emotion and personality. We love the clean and pure editing as well. We are so happy with our photos and will cherish them for the rest of our lives. Courtney is amazing, both in her talent and in her personality. She's really attentive in focusing on what's most important to you specifically. I had a unique request about heavily showcasing my bridesmaids' jewelry, and she was sure to get exactly what I was hoping for.
