About this vendor
Nobody wants to look back at a photograph of themselves looking stiff, shy and uncomfortable. Listen, I get it. Getting your photograph taken can be awkward. I like to tell my clients that the first 5 minutes of a shoot are like an awkward first date, but then it gets better. It's my job to make you feel comfortable and - maybe crack a bad joke or two - so that before long you’ll forget the camera’s there and we’re just having fun. Robert Cappa once said, “if your pictures aren’t good enough, you aren’t close enough.” To me, this doesn’t mean barking commands and staging meticulous poses in the attempt to get a perfect shot; it means creating an environment where you feel comfortable enough to let your guard down and be who you genuinely are. That's the version of you I want to photograph. I strive for authenticity with everything that I do and I’m always rooting for my clients to have the best experience.
What is essential about photographing a wedding? Of course the undeniably important moments, but I’ll also work the peripherals of the room. I take pride in capturing the moments that otherwise would have slipped through the cracks. The look in your grandparent’s eyes as they admire your first dance or your baby cousins’ running underfoot. The little bits of time that without a photograph would otherwise be forgotten. I take this philosophy with me to every shoot. Whether it be a portrait shoot, elopements or events: capturing the imperfection of humanity is the foundation of what drives my photography. Our lives are an ongoing developing experience and I want your photos to tell the story of what really happened.

Courtney is a ROCK STAR!!! Let me preface this by saying I got married this weekend at the North Carolina Museum of Art, and she had already gotten us our preview photos so we can post on social media 2 days after the wedding. From the first phone call, I KNEW she was the one. She is full of energy, and goes above and beyond to understand family dynamics and the vision we had. We wanted photos that are timeless and classic. Not only was she incredibly professional, but she was EFFICIENT. I hear about so many brides spending hours taking their photos and aren't able to enjoy the party. We didn't do a first look, and were able to get ALL of the couple portraits and family shots done in less than 45 minutes! Let these photos speak for themselves... but if you don't hire Courtney for your wedding you are MISSING OUT!
Courtney was one of our favorite vendors. She was recommended by our planner and thank GAWD! Courtney was a true gem in a sea of wedding photographers. She traveled to the beach for our engagement pictures and had them turned around quickly so we could get save the dates out.
Night before our wedding, Mother Nature dumped 3+ inches of snow in the triangle. She was ready and willing to go! Courtney preformed ~flawlessly~ (to my knowledge) without her second shooter and she delivered our sneak peak quickly as well. We haven’t gotten our finals back but I know they’re all going to be amazing and we’ll look at these pictures every day for the rest of our lives. Courtney was truly amazing, incredible, and astonishing! We love Courtney ❤️
Courtney was amazing to work with! We had her do our engagement photos at the Outer Banks. She picked the best spots, was so fun to work with and the pictures came out incredible! We loved her so much that we had her take photos at our small wedding. Courtney exceeded our expectations again and helped capture all of the pictures we didn't even know we needed. Our families loved her as well and she has such a good attitude was able to put everyone in a good mood. Hopefully, you don't have to deal with this, but because of COVID, we had to modifiy pictures with spacing. Despite these restrictions, Courtney did a phenomenal job making the photos look perfect even though there was some spacing. The wedding pictures came out just as beautiful as the first ones. We would definitely work with her again and HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who is looking for a skilled photographer who is super fun to work with!
We love Courtney!
We look like complete goobers 99% of the time, so when we went into our engagement session, we figured the photos would be "okay", but we weren't pinning our hopes on much.
But Courtney put us right at ease, and sure enough, we LOVED the photos we got back. Our family and friends were also over-the-moon. Everyone said she captured "us" perfectly.
We're super excited to work with Courtney again for our wedding day.
I have never met a person who has made me and my husband (both super awkward) feel so comfortable and relaxed. Out of every investment/purchase we made for our wedding, Courtney was 110% worth every. single. penny. She is quite possibly the sweetest person I have ever met, and takes gorgeous photos. You will laugh and have a blast the whole time! And she gets every single important moment, even the ones you didn't know would be worth remembering. Thank you so much Courtney, we cannot wait to take photos with you again in the future!!! Love, Daniel & Nicole Camillone.
