Traveled to New Orleans, which is my hometown, for a convention. I stayed for 4 nights. The walk to the convention center was very easy. Every member of the hotel staff that we encountered were super friendly and approachable. Food in the Bistr...
o was great as well! Courtyard/Pool area is beautiful and peaceful. Our room was clean and well stocked. There was some renovations happening, but that did not affect our room whatsoever. Location is close to so many restaurants and attractions and just a 15 minute walk or 5 minute Uber ride to the French Quarter. Hotel provided a list of restaurants within walking distance, which was awesome! The newly renovated lobby is absolutely beautiful! Love the exposed wood beams and brick. It gave the lobby a rustic atmosphere mixed with a modern twist. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to New Orleans! Even with renovations going on, I still had to give credit where credit is due. Whoever manages this hotel deserves a reward. I'm sure its not easy to wow your guests with an ongoing renovation, and yet, I was amazed at the level of service, friendliness, and cleanliness. Keep up the great work! I can't wait to see what it all looks like after the renovations are fully complete! I definitely recommend anyone stay here! Thanks again for an amazing stay!

My husband and I stayed at the hotel to attend WHITE LINEN NIGHT in the wearhouse district this past weekend. Just steps from the occasion, couldn't ask for a more perfect location!
Upon entering the hotel we took note of the spacious inviting ...
lobby. It had a gorgeous painting of old New Orleans and a lovely mural featuring Louis Armstrong and musical NOLA. Many people were congregated with friends and family throughout the room enjoying the ambience and serenity of the room; giving a nice feel of the place.
Absolutely loved our quiet balcony room off of the swimming pool on the third floor with a comfortable king size bed which was exceedingly clean!!!!! The loveseat was heavenly!
Definitely recommend!

Stayed here for 3 nights, here's my experience:
The good: lobby looks nice, very aesthetic with a big mural on the wall. 2 blocks from the convention center and very close to a lot of other things, making it convenient.
The bad: many, many th...
ings that would lead me to not recommend it. The lobby doesn't have complementary coffee, which is typically a mainstay of Marriott hotels (I'm a lifetime gold member and have stayed in dozens). The rooms on the main side of the building are clean but cheaply updated. The water on the faucets is reversed from the norm in all the rooms (cold on left, hot on right), which seems strange. On the first day I found several items under my mattress from previous tenants (a battery, some medicine), which makes me wonder how thoroughly they clean the room. The water temperature was very sporadic - sometimes it was all warm to hot, sometimes all luke warm, sometimes cold to hot, depending on the day. On day 1 I found a small lizard crawling on my wall as well, which makes me wonder how well they're maintaining the property.
For my third night here, they switched me to the "quiet" side of the building (floor 2A) because a large group of kids were coming in. Fine, but when I got to my room I realized "quiet side" was a misnomer. Apparently this side of the building is directly below the roof mounted air conditioning system, and there is a constant low level buzzing noise that permeates the hallway and the rooms. I downloaded a free decibel app on my phone and it consistently registered about 47-49. I sleep with ear plugs so its not a huge issue for that, but I imagine that others might struggle with that intensity of low-level noise. I'm not looking for whisper quiet, it seems excessive to have this level of noise constantly across an entire hallway. I tested it out a bit and its loud enough that it drowns out the TV when its on lower levels.
The rooms on the "quiet side" (2A) are also completely different with brick walls and high ceilings with beams exposed. Which is fine as an aesthetic, but when I checked the windows there was a lot of paint peeling and discoloration around the wood (see picture). Without knowing the age of the building, my worry for families with small children is that the paint could contain lead, and the flaking and could be a health hazard.
Giving the hotel 2 stars because of the sheer convenience of it being located so close to the convention center and downtown and the relative price. But if you're sensitive to noise and get placed on floor 2A, I would highly recommend you ask to be switched to a different floor in the main part of the building.

We came to New Orleans for a convention and this hotel was within walking distance to the convention center.
It was not a great experience. First impression was not great, as there is only valet parking available at $40/45 a day, depending on ...
the size of your vehicle. However, the lobby smelled fabulous and the staff was nice. Unfortunately, that's where the positive review starts and ends.
The elevator is old and wobbly. It actual got stuck for someone. Walking into the room was a great disappointment. It was small and dated, there were only two puny drawers and bedside tables, a small refrigerator with no room for anything other than drinks in the door, and the window only had blackout shade curtains that didn't even close all the way. We couldn't even open the curtains during the day because there were no window shears for privacy. You could look out the window and see into other guests rooms. Smh. The sink was so small, you could barely put anything out, especially because the towel rack covered one side, and the shower head was pitiful. We were there from Monday-Saturday, and we wanted housekeeping for one day, and they didn't come by.
Having stayed at multiple Marriott hotels, this was not what I was expecting. At all. I would not recommend this to anyone.
