Craig and his photography team were entrusted with capturing the essence of our August wedding. While I acknowledge Craig's undeniable talent in producing beautiful photos, I feel compelled to share my deeper concerns. My heartache doesn't stem from the quality of his work but rather from the imbalance in how he documented our special day, particularly regarding me and my family – a critical aspect, as I was one of the brides.
Inexplicably, my partner received an abundance of photos featuring her bridesmaids and her family, even including heartwarming outdoor shots. On the other hand, my own family had journeyed 2200 miles to be part of this cherished occasion, and yet, I lack individual photos with them. The snapshots with my bridesmaids are scarce, and I am left without full-length photos of myself.
On the wedding day, my anxiety grew as I observed Craig's apparent disorganization. He and his two support team members were conspicuously absent, leaving me feeling neglected in the bridal room. This situation resulted in rushed photos and left me with no choice but to request additional shots with my bridesmaids. When I later approached Craig regarding our missing photos, he attributed it to us not being ready. However, we were prepared and waiting in the bridal room, yet the opportunity slipped away.
Although the video created during dinner had its charm, I would have preferred a fair distribution of attention between photography and videography, ensuring that my side of the family received due consideration. If it weren't for my bridesmaids taking the initiative to request photos with our guests, we would have been without any documentation of those precious moments.
Given Craig's accolades, I admit to feeling taken aback by the disarray that unfolded on our wedding day. While Craig had been a pleasure to work with in the lead-up to the event, his performance on the day itself left me deeply disappointed and emotionally wounded. Regrettably, I cannot turn back time, and I find myself with an inadequate collection of photos to relive those cherished moments. I struggle to comprehend how he could justify neglecting an entire bride and her bridal family on such an important day.
I am sharing my heartfelt experience to caution future brides. I implore you to communicate your needs and expectations clearly with Craig and his team. No bride should have to look back on her wedding photos with sorrow due to their scarcity. I now possess no video footage of my outfit and no pictures with my beloved niece, and this loss continues to weigh heavily on my heart. I genuinely hope your wedding day surpasses mine in every way, but please remember to advocate for yourself and your dreams, for no amount of payment can guarantee a perfect outcome.

Craig, Monica and Matt did an INCREDIBLE job at my wedding on 10/14/23. They were so much fun to work with and I couldn't be happier with how the photos turned out. We had ALL of our photos back before we even returned from our honeymoon! The Same Day Edit video they played at our reception was truly amazing and was so special to show our guests more of the wedding day! I cannot thank Craig David Butler for giving me the greatest gift of beautifully capturing my wedding day. The day was an absolute dream and now I can relive it time and time again through the moments he captured ... from my first look with my now husband, my daddy/daughter dance, photos of my grandparents and more that will always hold such a special place.
His guidance for posing and his eye for detail left us with pictures of our guests, special moments between myself and my husband, views of our venue and intricate details of flowers, jewelry and dancing.
Craig also did our videography and that is something I would recommend to all brides. The day goes by in a flash but the video allows you to relive the day, it's also a great memory to share with loved ones.
If you want photos from your special day that perfectly capture all of your emotions, joy and excitement ... then that is exactly what Craig can provide.

I cannot say enough good things about Craig, his process, his artistry and his employees. Every single photo is absolutely phenomenal. He has such an outstanding ability to capture all of the moments you want captured as a bride and so many more that you didn’t even think of. Craig was the first vendor we booked because we HAD to have him after we saw his work and we postponed with him 3 times through the pandemic—and it was worth every minute and dollar of it all. Everything they do is punctual and thought out. From the beginning meetings, to the day of and the review when creating your albums and spreads. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for and everything we paid for exceeded our expectations. When the flowers have wilted and the dress no longer fits, you have your photos and your memories to look back on. Everything was captured to the fullest that day and I could not possibly be more thankful for the beautiful keepsakes we have. Thank you Craig & Katie for EVERYTHING.
Craig was great and easy to work with throughout the day. He helped to make sure everyone got organized and made taking photos fun and the time flew by. The photos and videos we got turned out great and was easily one of our favorite vendors for our wedding.
Craig and his team were amazing to work with and the photos and video were so well done! Craig is super nice and definitely takes the time to get to know you and your partner and it showed how comfortable we were in the photos! Highly recommend the same-day edit video — we received so many comments on how guests have never seen that done and how different and cool it was! We also worked with Craig on the wedding photo album and he did such a great job with the layout!
We could not have chosen a better photographer for our wedding. Not only does he make taking pictures fun and comfortable, but he is also extremely easy to get ahold of and very flexible. We chose to do the same day video and people still rave to this day how cool it was and what a great job Craig and his team did putting it together. Craig is truly a professional and knows what he’s doing, you won’t have to worry about a single thing when it comes to pictures or video if you chose Craig for your special day. He really did capture every detail, some I wouldn’t have even thought to capture. Lastly, he got our wedding pictures and video to us within a week for previews pictures and less than a month for full pictures and video!

My husband and I met Craig back in the fall of 2021. During our meeting, he took a lot of time getting to know us, which we really appreciated. We knew right away we wanted Craig to take our wedding photos and videos. From our engagement session to our wedding day, Craig David Butler Studios created a fun and comfortable experience (my husband and I are very awkward in front of the camera lol)!
Another fun bonus was the same day highlight reel! My husband and I knew about it, but we kept it a surprise from our guests. The video was absolutely beautiful!!

After seeing the impeccable work Craig did for my brother’s wedding, I knew that I not only wanted but needed Craig’s expertise at my own wedding. Craig and his daughter make an amazing team and they went above and beyond to create such a special memory for my husband and I. They delivered a beautiful Same Day Edit video during our reception, with only a short period of time to pull that together after the ceremony. I was also incredibly impressed at how quickly we got all of our pictures and video footage back. We had all of our digital files within 1.5 weeks after our wedding date. I can not tell you how many people reached out to us saying they had to wait at least 2 months before they received anything from their wedding photographer. Having Craig David Butler photography was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. The planning process was simple and there were a lot of examples to see what we would like to have as well.
The day of was perfect. Both photographers were punctual, funny, and put everyone at ease. It made taking pictures less of awkward posed moment and more of us just enjoying the day. We have more pictures laughing and with genuine smiles than we ever thought I would have.
The same day reception video was a hit. Definitely get that! Everyone loved it and really got a chance to feel like they were there with us the whole day.
Overall, if we could have our wedding all over again, we'd definitely choose Craig David Butler photography.
We were all blown away with Craig and his team!!!! He made us feel so comfortable and relaxed throughout the whole day! He was so professional and fun at the same time! Our guests were so amazed that right after dinner he had put together an unbelievable video of us that started at our home and continued with our ceremony!!! When i received my photos i noticed that they had just used software to enhance the images. As the Groom i was wearing makeup due to the software that they were using. I was really unhappy. I found that the cameras used didn't produce the highest level of quality i would expect and some of the photos are grainy.
There were lots of up charges when you want your album.
We allocated a large budget to photos but didn't get what we paid for.
I can't say enough good things about Craig David Butler and his team. My husband and I knew from the day we met him that we wanted him to be our wedding photographer and it was hands down the best wedding decision we made!! He was extremely easy and fun to work with, and the photos we received were beautiful. Our same day edit was perfect and our wedding guests still talk about it!! Five stars doesn't do justice to the amazing work that we received from Craig and I highly recommend him if you are looking for an incredible photographer.

Craig was absolutely amazing to work with! The pictures and moments he captured were absolutely amazing. Craig and his two assistants (Katie and Matt) did a great job of capturing the best moments throughout our wedding day. They were fun to work with and very thoughtful about lighting, posing, and the background, which goes a long way in leading to high quality photos. We did a choreographed dance for our first dance, and they captured the whole thing on video as we asked them to. One thing that sold us on Craig was the same day edit video he offers. We were so impressed with the video and have watched it probably 25 times since our wedding. The wedding party, wedding guests and people we've shown the photos to have said that they are very good. We would highly recommend!
Choosing Craig David Butler for our wedding photography was easily one of the best decisions we made. I would recommend him to anyone, but what speaks even more to his professionalism is that I know my guests and family members would as well. Numerous guests asked for his contact information at the reception and the days following with hopes of using him for their future events.
When working with Craig we always felt that I was in the hands of a professional. He was great about keeping to appointments, answering questions in a timely manner, and being clear and up-front about every aspect of his work. He also provided plenty of sage advice about dos and don't for the wedding décor and attire, which helped us achieve the aesthetic we wanted for the ceremony and reception.
Everyone at our wedding was blown away by the video he created for the reception. He did an amazing job of catching the many different parts of the wedding, the preparation, the guests and family coming in, and of course the ceremony, that it was a breathtaking experience to see it all together. It was also great because we could see parts of the wedding that we had been planning for months, but would never see since we were in our respective places during the ceremony. We have been watching the video nearly every day since our wedding and still loving it, and I know it will be something we will cherish for a lifetime.
Lastly, Craig went above and beyond to help us when we explained that our family in from overseas would not be able to get copies of photos over the internet. He provided our photos in an extremely short turnaround time to make sure our loved ones got copies before they departed.

We had the photography and videography service from Craig and we loved the service from beginning to end! The team is professional and experienced in capturing moments and lights. If you are not comfortable with posing, Craig will help you and ease your nerve. And for videography, I highly recommend you to get the service as well, they have ' same day edit' which will show you the day of preparation and the vows that brings you back to time. We and our guest enjoyed the service and had really a good time. Thank you for being part our special day and make it memorable.

Amazing! I got married Saturday and had my pictures by Wednesday! AND WE LOVE THEM ALL! Craig was so accommodating and flexible- it seemed like we had a lot of special needs for this wedding and he was there to meet each one. I am big on moments, and he captured so many great ones without us knowing, I tear up just thinking about it! I feel like he can read a couple and a wedding style and adapt to it, which was really important to us. Highly recommended!

Our wedding photos turned out absolutely amazing, it ended up raining on our wedding day and we had to change the location of photos last minute. The CDB team rolled with the punches and everything was perfect. I can't stop looking at all my wonderful pictures. I tend to be very picky and critical about photos (especially of myself) but I can honestly say that I love EVERY SINGLE ONE of my wedding photos. Craig has a natural talent to capture the best moments PERFECTLY. I actually came to know Craig through my friend Elena who had hired him for her wedding. I have been in quite a few weddings and I knew the moment I met Craig that I wanted him for my own wedding (and at that moment I wasn't even engaged)! He is not only an amazing photographer but he isn't loud and pushy...he just does his thing in the background. Having been in many weddings with bossy photographers, I can say that Craig is not at all this way! Additionally, the Same Day Edit that he creates is phenomenal. I would give Craig and his team an unlimited amount of stars if I could! My mother used him 13 years ago as their photographer for their wedding and I just recently used him for our wedding on July 21st! His work is absolutely out of this world! He is so personable and makes taking a million pictures FUN. We got a million compliments from everyone we know saying he was outstanding! We're still getting compliments almost 2 weeks later! He made my day run smooth and took stresses away by taking control! I could never thank him enough for making our day truly perfect! We will be going to Craig for everything we can! Our wedding photos turned out better then we could ever ask for. Craig and his team was laugh and joking with us on the day of but they keep there professionalism the whole time. Matt the second photographer was great with Tim. My groom (Tim) cant take a photo with out this half cocked smile its crazy unless you can get him to laugh. we only have one photo of Tim and the half cocked smile out of 800 that is amazing. Craig was also great with my family some of them have reached out to him about the online photos. I was only aware of this after the fact when my family told me. He did as they requested with no problems at all any large changes that were made he let us know right away. Katie did an amazing job on our same day edit. We are still getting complements about it. My favorit complement from one of our guest was "even though we didnt get a change to talk you and Tim's presents was around as the whole time. We have never felt so welcomed at a wedding" I contribute that to the Someday edit. Our wedding album proof also caused problems for us and Craig did every thing in his power to fix the problems. We have truly been some of the headrest people to work with. Craig and his team never treated us like we were inconvenience them. If you have it in you budget then your crazy not to use Craig and him team and go all out its worth it.
I give 20 stars. I can not say enough things about Craig. Professional, wonderful, funny and amazing! Craig did my wedding Saturday, and my pictures are complete. They are amazing and I want to print each one. My guests were amazed by the same day edit, and many of our engaged friends have asked for his contact information. Out of all my vendors, Craig was my absolute favorite. He and staff are just wonderful! Book him now!!!
There are not enough words to describe how amazing Craig and his staff are. They are phenomenal photographers and working with them was a blast. The same-day edit was amazing and such a great surprise for our guests after dinner. He was so easy to work with and he is fast and efficient. He had our wedding photos up online in just a few days after the wedding. And they were amazing. Everything was so natural and nothing seems staged and awkward. I would recommend him to anyone he is well worth the price!
Craig did an amazing job! After another bride in our family had a disappointing experience with her photographer, we had very high expectations. He met and exceeded every one of them. I was getting married in my hometown but had moved across the state already, so my husband and I were unable to come meet with him on weeknights. He was so accommodating and offered to set up times over weekends that were available for us. I can't even begin to describe all the ways in which he helped make our day so special and STRESS-FREE! The day of the wedding was seamless due to his planning, organization, and talent! He was fast and precise and knew exactly how to make the photography process easy for my bridal party. Even my husband, who hates getting his picture taken raved about how simple and memorable Craig made it. CDB was an amazing choice for a photographer. Our pictures are stunning and are by far the best I have ever seen. He truly captured the emotion of the day effortlessly. Everyone I've shown the photos to has been blown away. Our same day edit was a total hit at the reception. I cannot wait to see the full length video! Craig and his team did an amazing job capturing our wedding. It was perfect! We met a few times before the big day to talk about day of details and he took careful notes of the ins and out of our wedding :) We also decided to purchase the video with the Day of Edits and we were blown away! I am so happy we did it, 100% worth the money. Our guest loved it and my husband and I enjoyed watching it on our one year anniversary.
This guy and his team were amazing!! I couldn't have asked for better pictures, everyone loves the pictures and the same-day-edit was spectacular! It made me laugh and cry and it still does when I watch it 3 months later!! A bit pricey but totally worth every single penny!! We loved Craig!!

We were excited to work with CDB when we first hired him, and throughout our experience, he was friendly and a nice person. When we booked him, our package included an engagement session. However, to receive any of the photos from that session, we had to pay (on top of what we already paid for the wedding package), and it was not cheap. We felt like the photos should be included in the package, but maybe us being first timers to book a wedding photographer, we should have known that, but I had worked in the wedding industry for almost six years, and I had never heard of that.
Finally, the wedding day came, and we had paid for a second shooter. During the ceremony (which was not at a church, so there were no shooting restrictions), there was only one close up picture throughout the entire ceremony. All the rest are from the back of the aisle, and you can barely see us at all. We felt at least one of the photographers should have been close so that we had closer shots to get our facial expressions, and a close up of our first kiss. I had even made an announcement to have no phones out during the ceremony so that they could get the best photos. Needless to say, I am regretting immensely making that announcement.
During the reception, we felt like there was no effort put forth to get the best shot. My husband has long hair, and during our cake cutting, neither photographer bothered to move so that they could get shots of our faces while we cut the cake. There are no shots of our first dance that we love, and again, during the speeches, and while we sat at the head table, all of the shots are from the back of the room and you can barely see us.
We simply are very disappointed. We felt there was no effort put forth to get the best shots, and we could've gotten the same quality, if not better for a quarter of the cost.
My husband and I will be hiring another photographer to do a photoshoot in my wedding dress, and his wedding tuxedo because there are about nine photos out of almost 1,000 photos from the whole day we like. We can never experience our wedding day again, and we can never get those shots.
I've even heard from my parents, and other family members that they were not thrilled at all with the shots either. Just very disappointing, especially for how much we paid.
Craig David Butler and his team are just absolutely amazing. From the first time we met, we felt immediately at ease- and that's so important if you want pictures that turn out well! And after seeing his portfolios and videos, it was a no-brainer decision for us to go with Craig.
Craig was genuinely fun to work with, but he's also very professional and goes the extra mile for his clients (he drove all over metro Detroit on our wedding day!). He has an amazing eye and captured all kinds of things during my wedding day that I had no idea were even happening. Our pictures are just breathtaking!
Also- Craig and his team somehow manage to do a same day video (bride and groom getting ready, parts of the ceremony) that is played at receptions. We and our guests were absolutely blown away! People are still talking about Craig weeks later!
You will not be disappointed with Craig and his team! Going with him was one of the best decisions we made!

Craig and his staff did an outstanding job on our wedding photos and video! We could not be happier with the amazing shots they got throughout the day and how timely we received all of our prints and wedding album. Our favorite part of his services was the "Same Day Edit" video which is played at the reception for all of the guests to see. The same day edit video was AMAZING - we received so many compliments about this, and provided something different for our guests! Craig David Butler Studios was worth every penny we paid! We needed to be very careful with the wedding budget for my daughter's wedding (October 2015) but I knew from my wedding 33 years prior that photographs are THE most important investment, they are what you refer to year after year to help you remember that special day. Nothing else you purchase matters as much. We interviewed and reviewed pictures from close to 20 photography studios, from downright cheap to similarly priced studios. The one thing that Craig David Butler Studios did that no other came close to was to capture the FEELINGS on both film and in pictures! I found myself crying looking at stranger's pictures and videos! That is when I was sold. To me, capturing the day in video and photography was a must as I knew the moments go by so fast it can make your head spin. An element that ALL our guests raved about was the same day edit that was shown during the reception! It allowed our guests to relive the event immediately and allowed our family and friends to see what occurred before the ceremony too. We LOVED it! Where do I begin to CDBS? They were absolutely incredible to work with on our wedding day. From the moment we met Craig and Bonnie, we knew we didn't need to look anywhere else for a photographer. Whenever we met at the studio, we were met with the utmost professionalism and a warm smile. Our engagement photos were great but our wedding photos were absolutely stunning. I felt like Craig and everyone else were able to capture the day beautifully. Some of the photos truly took our breath away! I wasn't expecting to spend as much as I did for a photographer, but Craig and his team are pretty amazing! Craig really cares about you and what you want for your photos. He kept things moving for pictures with bridal party and family before and after the ceremony. He is a lot of fun to work with and makes you feel comfortable. I'd choose him all over again!
Craig was our photographer for our December wedding and we were so impressed by his work. Our wedding pictures came out absolutely stunning and he worked really well with our loud bridal party, keeping everyone on time and not being pushy when everyone became distracted. The same day edit video is a must!! We received so many compliments from this and it was so good that there wasn't a dry eye in the house! Craig's assistants were great as well and helped capture some of the best moments from our special day. Craig and Matt, our second photographer, were both very professional but fun to work with.
