r/sexier than I thought we could pull off, or the price was too steep for the amount of hours we wanted to have the photographer available, or photos felt too “posed” and cookie-cutter. Then we found Randy. The first thing I noticed about Randy’s portfolio is that people were smiling and laughing. You’d be surprised how few photographers feature photos that look joyful! The second thing I noticed is that photos weren’t all the same; different couples had different looks and styles. I felt like I was learning something about the couple by their photos. When we contacted Randy, we discovered that his work was not only in budget, but that his pricing included a full day of wedding photos – no matter how many hours the day lasted! Our package included engagement photos, wedding photos, a small album, and we added a photobooth for the wedding day. Our engagement session and wedding ended up being two years apart (thanks, COVID) and Randy did an incredible job with both! The engagement shoot gave us a great sense of how Randy works and got us accustomed with posing. What I most appreciated was the fact that Randy caught the moments in between the poses – where my husband and I were laughing with one another or sharing a special moment. For the wedding photos, Randy joined me a little bit before 9 am and was with us until the reception ended at 11 pm! He had a second photographer there during most of that time, as well. I really wanted to capture the joy of finally being able to be together with family and getting to celebrate. After nearly three years of being engaged, I was determined to make the day as stress-free as possible and just enjoy myself. Randy picked up on our joyful, relaxed mood right off the bat and gave us the photos of our dreams! Our photos are bright and colorful (although he picks wonderful photos to do in B&W) and full of laughter, big smiles, and happy tears. Every part of the day is beautifully captured, but we are especially fond of the candid joy in our reception pictures. He got such wonderful shots of our guests that we sent everyone a photo in their thank you cards! If you want wedding photos that feel like you, your partner, and your loved ones, I cannot recommend Randy enough. He is professional, easy to work with, and so talented. We are so grateful to have found him!

We had everything set up for our December 2020 wedding by the end of February, and then shutdowns and the pandemic hit! However, Randy and his awesome communication kept us in the loop the entire time. We were able to meet for beautiful engagement pictures in June when everything opened up. When things shut down again in November, we had to revise all of our plans - drive-through reception, only wedding party and close family (3o people) able to attend, etc. We knew it would be a special time to document, and a beautiful day, and Randy captured it perfectly. He got amazing pictures, mostly outdoors in December because of facemask requirements inside, worked well with our freezing family members, and still capture the most intimate moments of the day. We just got our album from him, and it tells our story perfectly, from my bridal party laughing behind facemasks while we got ready to our bride/groom pictures alone outside the wedding reception venue being able to see our breath because it was so cold! It was perfect, and Randy was able to handle it beautifully all in stride! We would not hire him again in a heartbeat!

they are perfect. My wife and I are very critical of our photos, and for some reason have a hard time just relaxing and being us in front of the camera. Randy was would have my wife whisper things into my ear to make us laugh. He is funny (everyone got along great with him), super nice, talented, professional, and carries around two suitcases full of equipment to get the lighting and angles just right. He quick at setting up and snapping shots so you can get plenty of them on your wedding day. He was with us the whole day, which was awesome. He has many techniques that make amazing photos like puts some sort of lighting flash behind us to light up the top of the gazebo we were in in order to make it look like the gazebo was glowing around us, so cool. He did some action shots that made it look like my wife was almost floating. I could go on and on about how good of an experience this was for us.

In addition, we had Randy do an engagement shoot for us in Chicago - and again, he was great. captured the “real” moments beyond the posed photos that we love, but frankly aren’t always as beautiful as those unplanned. We were fortunate to have him photograph both our engagement photos and our wedding. During our engagement session, we had two full hours to take photos, and, lucky for us, I learned first-hand that Randy has such a great eye for finding beauty wherever you are. All of our pictures were so stunning that we had a VERY difficult time picking out our favorite ones for the save the dates (which is a great problem to have). Prior to the wedding, he met with us in our own neighborhood and went through every detail with us thoroughly. He was so available and adaptable to any last-minute wishes or changes. On the day of, he and his partner were prompt and helpful in guiding us along, ensuring to capture things I did not even think of. Basically, he was our unofficial coordinator. He also was patient in letting me have the time to celebrate with my loved ones while also guaranteeing that not one photo was missed, which I think shows his experience in allowing that balance throughout the day. When we received our wedding photos, they were all above and beyond what we could have hoped for. I continue to have a hard time picking which ones I want to showcase in albums and around the house—there are too many amazing photos to choose from! He also captured all of our guests throughout the day, and going through the pictures was like reliving the day all over again from so many different perspectives. If I did it all over again, I would hire Randy in a heartbeat! I recommend him 1000%, and am so grateful for all the work he did for us throughout this chapter of our life!
