Cream of the Cakes

The cake pops and truffles are TO DIE FOR! Liz was so friendly and helpful during the planning process. Our tasting was such a great experience and my guests could not say enough about the variety of desserts we had. My husband and I will be starting a new tradition visiting Cream of the Cakes for every anniversary to get our favorite cake pop flavors. YUMMY!!!

Liz is absolutely amazing! I have a list of allergies/dietary restrictions, and she made me feel so comfortable choosing her to make my cake for our wedding day, and I had complete trust in her. She truly cares about your big day, and will do anything to make you happy with your cake, or whatever dessert you choose. The cake tasted FABULOUS, and the cupcakes that she made for our guests were talked about all night long! I will be a customer of hers for a long time!

Liz is a gem!! We found her through my brother, and she rocked our world. she not only made a delicious cake, but a fabulous brownie bar with toppings to go with it. She loved our creative ideas, and was with us every step of the way. We love Liz and she is the sweetest woman from the beginning when we had our tasting with her. We are so glad we chose her and would pick her again every time!!

Cream of the cakes did our wedding cake after a failed attempt at another bakery. When I reached out to Liz the first time, she responded very quickly and was eager to meet. We met at Caribou in Lakeville and went thru the contract. She was very professional and eager to make our cake. I did not give Liz a lot of guidelines for our cake, and she did an amazing job! We wanted black and white with airplanes. We got airplanes on the side of our cake, and black and white. Our guests raved on our cake. Not only was Liz more reasonable priced than the other bakery, but her pricing is very straight forward and no hidden fees or charges. I didn't try the cake until it came time to cut the cake. My husband said to me "I think this might be the best cake I have had, and I don't even like cake" We both enjoyed our dessert at our wedding.

Best kept secret in the twin cities when it comes to wedding cakes!! After tasting her cake at a relative's wedding we decided to add her to the list of vendors to check out. Prior to meeting with Liz we had tastings with two large, popular vendors. Liz absolutely blew them out of the water. The tasting took place at her beautiful house in Lakeville, MN. When we arrived the dining room was set for 6 guests just incase we brought friends or family with us. Prior to the tasting Liz provided us with her list of cakes and we were able to choose the ones we would most like to try. On the day of the tasting not only did she have those available but she also added an extra that she thought we might enjoy. She gave a very professional presentation about herself and her business prior to starting a very fun tasting! Liz spent plenty of time with us reviewing the types of cake we wanted, deciding on the details of the design, and coming up with a plan for how much cake would be needed. One worry I had going in was that since it was a business of one individual and the meeting was in her home we would have to worry about cleanliness. Not a worry. The cakes are baked in a nearby commercial kitchen so cleanliness is not a concern. Liz is also clearly a very clean and perfectionistic person so I left with no worries in that domain whatsoever. Also, since this is a small business Liz limits the number of cakes she makes and provides each couple with plenty of personal attention, something that lacked greatly from the other vendors we met with. On the day of the wedding the cake was delivered on time and was absolutely gorgeous! We ultimately went with a 4 tiered cake- half red velvet and half almond cake. The guests raved about how great it tasted. Many guests told us that it was the best wedding cake they had ever tasted and we would have to agree! We could not have been happier with our experience! Don't hesitate, reach out to her asap!

I cannot say enough good things about Cream of the Cakes! So incredibly delicious! We did 13 dozen cupcakes in 4 different flavors and a small, cutting cake for pictures- everyone was raving about the flavors- all modern takes on classic red velvet, choc fudge, almond- absolutely to DIE for. And her other flavor options are incredible too- maple, lots of fruit options. The price is right to!! Liz, the owner, even threw in a free cake for our one year anniversary with our order so we didn't have to save the top of the cake and freeze it. I HIGHLY recommend this place you will not be sorry!
