Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve

though it's apart of a suburb, it sits far enough back that it feels secluded. The Director and Coordinator worked with us through the whole process, suggesting caterers and rental companies, helping with the set up and break down, and letting us be as creative as we wanted. There was a fire pit that proved to be pretty useful when the late night temperatures dropped to about 30 degrees. They had just built a 'wedding' area that Summer, complete with two bridges that went over a rock lined creek and a ton of greenery and trees surrounding the area. With the fall leaves on the ground, it was stunning! I don't think we could have asked for a better venue. The final deciding factor, of course, was knowing that the money we put into the venue was going straight back into preserving the space and they also offer a service of planting your own tree in your honor somewhere in the preserve that you can visit whenever you please. It's nice to know that our day of happiness helped support the local wildlife. One other great thing about this space is that the decorations were minimal due to the overwhelming beauty of the natural space in the Fall. We didn't have to do much and that helped keep the wedding 'green'.
