Creative Images Photography is a wedding photography studio based in Monterey, CA. Established in 1979, it is home to award-winning photographer Larry Nordwick and is known as one of the best studios in the area. This photographer has traveled across the state to accommodate clients and is available to service the Monterey Bay area and beyond.
Larry started his wedding photography career at the age of 16. Mentored by renowned photographers Ansel Adams and Ken Cook, he has since been awarded the title of Master Photographer by the Professional Photographers of America. He is a five-time recipient of the award for wedding album of the year and has photographed over 1300 nuptials during the last 30 years. Larry’s skills allow him to work with a range of photography styles to create a varied and exciting gallery of images. Couples can expect candid pictures capturing the laughter and emotion of the day, along with photojournalistic images of people dancing and enjoying the celebrations. As an experienced portrait artist, he can also capture traditional shots of the couple and the wedding party.
As well as ceremonies and receptions, Creative Images Photography caters to engagements and rehearsals. After their event, couples can avail of digital files, online proofings, prints, enlargements, and wedding albums. Larry is also happy to distribute the pictures on social media. nts. Because he's worked in the area for over 30 years, he knows every single wedding venue and photo location like the back of his hand. He knows the light, the wind patterns, the foliage, and the architecture of each location. It was reassuring to know he could shoot our wedding with his eyes closed he knew the venue so well, but he always paid attention to every detail and made us feel like the most important people he'd ever shot. When we first met, I liked that he didn't feel the need to prove himself through posturing nor did he try to get my business by buttering me up. He is both classically trained (he knows how to use a camera and natural light) but also knows the latest in digital photography and image processing. He delivers both classical looks and newer, edgier trends. Tell him the look and feel that you want, and he delivers. He did both our engagement and wedding photos and hit both out of the park. My husband has a difficult time smiling naturally in photos, but Larry got natural, gorgeous shots of him smiling. Often times Larry takes beautiful candid-looking shots which are in actuality posed...but you'd never know. Larry is a workhorse but remains upbeat and dedicated through the very last shot. He worked with us on our wedding day for over 9 hours and was fantastically supportive throughout the whole day. Everyone in our wedding party and families got a kick out of working with him.
