We trusted our parents opinion and booked Crescent City Soul without even listening to them in person! It was the BEST decision that we ever made! Wendy did an amazing job of coordinating the musicians and ensuring that everyone was prompt and ready to go. Our clients were able to march down the middle of busy streets that were shut off by NOLA police with drinks in hand and dancing the entire way. Many of our clients commented that it was the best corporate event they have ever attended and most comments were directed towards the band. Wendy was fantastic to work with...she listened to our requests but also offered great suggestions. I hope I will have another chance to work with them again. They brought SUCH a positive energy and got everyone onto the dance floor--even older people who normally sit in the corner at weddings :) They played such an amazing variety of music that appealed to all audiences. I have been to numerous weddings with bands, but none have come close to CCS. Not only were they amazing the night of, they were so easy and accommodating to plan (which is stressful when planning long distance.) If I was to redo my wedding, I would book CCS every time.

band until the event space person recommended we check out their website. The videos on the website did a pretty decent job of conveying the band's talent and vibe. But, listening to them live is what made me understand their true gift. Wendy is the leader, but all of the musicians are super-talented (e.g. the sax player, Tom Fitzpatrick has his own jazz band and has played all over town and at Jazz Fest etc.). In fact, I highly recommend you get the ENTIRE band: all three horn instruments and the second singer. We almost didn't hire the trombone and the 2nd singer (thinking it'd make sense to save money) but then we saw the whole band at Rock 'N Bowl before the wedding. We immediately told Wendy to bring the whole crew. And THAT was the best decision of all. Everyone at the wedding was dancing, even old people who can barely get by without their walkers. It was like the band can play so wonderfully that they can heal the sick (probably even revive the dead in some cases ;-) Anyway, I'm serious that you should at least go check this band out when they play live at Rock n' Bowl or wherever. If you see them after your wedding and didn't hire them you'll know you made a huge mistake that you'll regret for a long time.

They not only WOWED my client, but kept them on the dance floor all evening, playing variety music for everyone. Wendy was so FABULOUS and easy to work with. Wendy and her band know how to read the crowd and they deliver what they want. Also, they are very interactive with the crowd which adds to the excitement of the evening.
