Crooked Tree Acres

Crooked Tree Acres is a rustic wedding venue in Henning, MN. We welcome couples to celebrate their big day surrounded by natural beauty, a charming barn, and their loved ones. How our story started: Crooked Tree Acres began when Jody and Linda Gueningsman purchased a piece of land in rural Parkers Prairie, MN in 2009. The property was originally purchased for hunting and recreation for them and their 2 sons. Many trips and vacations followed with family and friends, and work started to build the property into a hunting and fishing haven. As you can guess, with almost 400 acres, many hours were spent cutting trees, clearing lanes, building food plots, and maneuvering stands to various places on the property. Crooked Tree Acres’ name was born after Jody was clearing trees for hunting lanes and spotted a tree in his path. He took a photo and sent it to Linda, stating, “You‘re never going to believe what I just found: a Crooked Tree!” The property was immediately named and remains Crooked Tree Acres today. This has become a “right of passage” to anyone new who comes to the property, and numerous photos and trips have been taken to and from our little spot in the woods. How the barn happened: Jody always wanted a barn on the property; however, many other projects came and went through the years, and it was never built. Our oldest son found the woman of his dreams and, as they were planning their wedding, approached us with an idea. She wanted to get married in a barn, and he wanted to get married on the property. As you can guess, this was the time to set everything aside and start raising a barn! Work started in late 2021, tirelessly planning for the vision of what is here today. Our wish for you: Crooked Tree Acres is our little slice of heaven, and we hope it will be yours, too! With expansive acres, a fully serviceable barn/venue with 2 private suites, outdoor and indoor ceremony sites, electric campsites for anyone who wishes to stay on property, and an enclosed porch to have your private happy hour, all of which allow you to never have to leave the property on your special day! We desire every couple to have the wedding of their dreams. Because of our own experience in helping plan our son and daughter-in-law’s wedding and the sweet memories they made, we hope other families can have the same experience.
