I normally don't write out reviews unless they are 100% positive, but I think with a wedding venue for other brides, I'd like to share a full perspective so someone can make a deci...
sion on spending a lot of money on a venue with all the knowledge. The other lower reviews were pretty much spot on to our experience.
I will say the positives here are that the venue is gorgeous, lighting...etc. photos are stunning in, and the wait staff members/culinary are phenomenal. Truly, I wish I had brought even more of a tip for them. They deserved it, my daughter got sick at the wedding, they got her a bucket and a trash bag. They were very kind throughout.
Cons- Upon arrival, nothing was ready. We were pounding on all the doors just to even get in, and I paid for extra time to get into the space. The event manager seemed to have no sense of urgency. We ended up moving most things to get it into place ourselves upon arrival, when a layout was gone over well in advance. I was assured it would all be in place, but it wasn't.
The floor was very dirty. Looked like it hadn't been swept or mop in a long time. My daughters gown almost immediately was covered in black dirt from how dirty the floor was.
The event manager didn't unlock the doors for my guests to enter, so people were waiting outside for 30+ minutes and our event started late. The groom had to track down the event manager to get the doors unlocked. We spent a lot of time trying to track her down pretty much the whole time.
They didnt have the arch up that we had requested and was shown to us as an option in our tour. Another thing that was in the layout and confirmed well in advance. There seems to be a lack of communication between the tour I did with Carol, the confirmation of details with Jordan, and the execution by the event manager because they had no idea of anything.
I didnt get any dessert they brought out the donut station then packed it up right after.
And like other reviews, lord was it hot. So hot it made my daughter and me sick. We couldnt enjoy dancing a lot of guests had to exit and stand outside.
Did our wedding turn out lovely? Yes, I'd say in spite of everything. If I could do it over again, would I book another venue, yes 100%.
Cross and Main was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding. We loved that it was a blank slate and we were able to fill it with flowers and decor and truly make it our own!
The most beautiful wedding venue, and wonderful to work with. We had originally booked our wedding for 2020, and had to reschedule. They were so understanding and helped us move ...
the date with no charge. Rocky Top Catering is fantastic as well. Our guests have brought up the wedding food multiple times! It was the perfect venue.
Cross and Main was the first vendor we signed with and overall we had a great experience with them. We signed with them back in March 2020, and they were helpful in moving the date...
with no extra charge. They also had a reasonable price compared to other venues we inquired with. Since we were planning from a distance, we were so grateful that they were helpful throughout the process.
On the day of the wedding, the venue allowed the wedding party to get ready at the wedding venue and it made the entire day so much more enjoyable and smoother. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful with the exposed brick and large windows. Several people commented on how beautiful the venue was and I have to agree that it was exactly what we were looking for.
The only real problem we had with the venue is that it was sometimes difficult to get an accurate estimate from them about catering, and you have to use their catering company at the venue. Also, a month after the wedding they contacted us to tell us we still owed money from some of the last-minute guest count changes. It’s fine because we owed the money, but it wasn’t great to get this message a month after the event when we thought that everything had been paid and had budgeted accordingly.
Overall, the venue is great and I would recommend it, even though some of the organizational issues were sometimes a problem.
Pros: beautiful venue, competitive price, some rentals are included (tables, chairs)
Cons: required catering company, confusing layout on estimates, organization/communication
Cross and Main was an absolutely gorgeous venue. Its rustic charm made the perfect backdrop for our wedding.
Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful venue! The only concern we had was a change of event manager in the middle of our planning process that we weren't informed about. Staff an...

aff was helpful and friendly. Rocky Top Catering, their in-house caterer, made delicious food. I highly recommend using Cross + Main!
Choosing Cross + Main was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding! The space is absolutely beautiful and Katie is incredible! Katie was so supportive in answering questions...
and offering guidance. Having to move my wedding inside last minute due to weather made me nervous, but it went so smoothly. Katie is so positive and made me feel so at ease on my big day! People raved about the look and feel of the place and I have so many beautiful pictures to treasure! THANK YOU!!!
Cross + Main was perfect for our wedding. They were flexible with the two day event we wanted - helping us find a way to rent the space without breaking our wallet. The space itsel...
f has been maintained so well & was absolutely stunning! We got so many compliments on how pretty our wedding was, but we did very little decorating, letting the building speak for itself. Katie was a breeze to work with - answering our questions before we even had a chance to ask on our tours & following up on our emails in under 24 hours every time. She was detail oriented and focused on meeting our needs for the event - thinking of details we hadn't considered and making sure the space had what we needed. It was absolutely excellent & the company was quick to get security deposits back to us after the event, which to me shows that they are focused both on service & follow up. It is all about the details and this venue and Katie really embrace ensuring you have the best venue possible for your event. I'm just looking for an excuse to host another event there now!
There are not enough words to express how much I loved working with Katie to plan our wedding and how beautiful she and the entire Rocky Top staff made our wedding. If you are look...
ing to get married in a space that people will be talking about for years to come I highly recommend Cross+Main
LOVED LOVED LOVED this venue. Not only was the staff amazing, but the venue is just beautiful. Very rustic and open -- wood floors, exposed brick walls with wooden beams, large win...
dows. Plenty of room for a ceremony and reception (there are 2 different rooms you can use as well as a bridal suite). Lots of dancing room too which was important for my husband and I.
You can get some great photos in and around the venue using various walls and buildings (the Coca Cola wall is my favorite--my husband and I got custom glass Coke bottles made for photos because I just loved the wall so much!). There is a small field across the street...we took a few photos there after the ceremony which I know we look great, but I would recommend doing a first look and taking some wedding party photos in the afternoon at another location if you are really looking for a scenic outdoor background. About 10 minutes away is Joyner Park where we took most of our photos.
If you are looking for a venue that is away from the hustle and bustle, this is a quiet and rustic charmer. We just LOVED having our wedding here.
My now husband, Nic, and I just had our wedding last Friday at The Boondocks and it was amazing! Teri was great to work with and really helped iron out details during our 30 days o...
ut meeting. The venue itself has some gorgeous exposed brick, wood floors, and lots of space. We had 18 tables of 8 guests at each and had room for a dance floor, photo booth, sweetheart, and cake cart. We used the smaller room for the bar, buffet setup, and gift table. There is no way you can beat the value and price as well!
If you're looking for somewhere a little off the beaten path, a vintage feel, and a great staff, look no further. Thanks Teri and team!!
