My experience planning my December wedding at Crow Canyon with Miranda was nothing short of wonderful. She worked with me planning from another state and was very clear and consistent in her communication, as well as being supportive and encouraging. Our actual wedding day was a dream, with the ballroom decorated for Christmas. The food was spectacular as well. We had over 200 people attend, and while I think the layout of the room isn’t the most ideal (wide, making it a little difficult to figure out sweetheart table placement), I never heard any complaints from our guests. The reason I rate four stars instead of five is that the club transferred ownership to the Bay Club not long before our wedding. It didn’t affect us that much, but I've read other reviews from people who haven’t been happy with the changes being made. It’s more of a precaution than a personal issue with the venue and staff.
If you have a lot of details going into your wedding, I recommend getting a wedding coordinator for the day of here.
We used the Crow Canyon Country club for our reception. We worked with Sandy who was a pleasure to work with she helped us out with all the details and made sure everything was set up just the way we wanted it. She even gave us a few names for DJ's and the one we picked was one of hers and he was great. The venue itself was beautiful and our pictures on the golf course turned out great. Also Sandy helped my Groom with he broken latch on his tux pants that broke.
My experience at Crow Canyon was fantastic up until the day before the wedding. Sharon, the on-site planner was on top of every detail, fantastic at responding to emails immediately--often within the hour--completely cool with any changes we wanted to make, and was great at handling my mom in her "wedding frenzy." She prepared the room and ceremony cite beautifully, and even gave us a free upgrade on chairs when the ones we'd been promised weren't going to arrive on time.
That being said, the day before and the day of the wedding, it felt like Sharon's composure and professionalism started to wilt. She was frazzled during the rehearsal, yelling at people and not remembering the details that made our ceremony unique--we had guys and girls on both sides of the aisle, and my mom and dad were both walking me down the aisle.
The biggest disappointment was that I had planned to surprise my husband by performing a song I'd written for him at the reception. Sharon blew the surprise 20 minutes before I was supposed to sing. I stayed back in the dressing room and had a minor melt-down before joining everyone at cocktail hour. It was a huge bummer.
Anyone who dealt with me, including all of my vendors, would say that I'm among the most laid-back brides they've ever worked with. I cared very little about the details and left most of it to the artistic discretion of the vendors and my mom. I cared about one thing: the song. And she blew it.
My husband is Jewish, and we broke the special glass at the end of the ceremony, and the club didn't bother saving it for us, nor did they bring the huge flower arrangements from the outdoor ceremony to the indoor band stage, as my mother had asked--considering what we paid for them, it would have been nice to enjoy them for more than 20 minutes.
For these reasons, CCCC doesn't get 5 stars. Everything else went so beautifully that I still have to give this place props. The site is lovely, the room has a gorgeous view, the bar service was great, and the food was really excellent, especially for "wedding food." Overall, the day was a success, I just wish that the one thing that the "laid back bride" cared about could have remained a surprise.
has amazing views of Mt. Diablo. It was so special to me and my husband because he proposed to me on top of Mt. Diablo. Excellent food and drinks. Amazing service. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a wedding venue.
