The week before the wedding, we decided to book the governor's suite for both nights of our stay but it had been reserved by someone else the night before the wedding. On the day we traveled out to Harrisburg, a manager called us personally to say that the governor's suite was available and saved it for us. Quite a relief!
When we arrived, we learned that the pool was closed. My sister's son was bummed, but the hotel gave them complimentary coupons for breakfast. The governor's suite was a large room that gave us plenty of room to get ready for the wedding. But we had issues both nights with the second bathroom in the suite, keeping it out of order for our entire stay. On our wedding night the pipes behind the toilet started leaking and flooded the entire bathroom. Despite calling the front desk and having security look at it, the engineer was not informed until the next morning, when water was leaking out onto the carpet by the door to our room.
When we checked out, several of our guests had issues with extra parking charges on their bills, but the front desk staff removed them when requested.
While setting up the block and reserving rooms was relatively easy, our stay could have gone a little more smoothly.

nning our wedding with 250+ guests was a breeze with her help! The day of our wedding, she was working hard to make sure everything was perfect. We had the most amazing day and would not change a thing! You have absolutely nothing to worry about on your wedding day if you have it here! The food, service, decor, & staff were all truly amazing. From the housekeeping staff to the valet, everyone was friendly, upbeat, & made our guests feel welcome. Our wedding was like a fairy tale and I could not ask for a better venue for the reception! We had a ton of out of town guests that took advantage of the $99 rooms- what a great deal!

This was my third, and youngest, child's wedding. So, I've been thru this a couple times! That being said, I will say if you book with Crowne Plaza and specifically Nicole Evans...
(she gets 10 stars) their event planner, you have absolutely nothing to worry about!!! Nicole and her staff went above and beyond to make my daughter's wedding Perfect! And my role, as mother of the bride, effortless! I got to enjoy the entire reception from start to finish without having to worry about anything!
Her staff is exceptional as well. My husband runs a business and some of his employees were at the wedding...they commented to him at work the following Monday about how the staff was wonderful, smiling and happy and saying it was going to be a great night. That alone sets the tone for the night!
I was very concerned about the food because we booked a 1 1/2 years out....nothing to be concerned about...it was delicious and hot!
Even the pasta! And we had 270 guests!!!
My daughter and son-in-law commented that they're personal assistant, Bobby, gets 5 stars as well...they never wanted for anything...he was a true professional and did his job very well.

Our coordinator, Amy, was absolutely awesome! She made sure every detail was taken care of. She kept in contact with all of my other vendors and kept me sane when putting me in my place!
The package they put together for us included sooo much! My guests loved the venue and the food. They loved that it was easy to get to and the ease of staying at the hotel. The hotel accommodated our needs for our ceremony and made it look quite unique.
If I had to do the whole experience over again, I would definitely choose The Crowne.
We couldn't have asked for a better venue!
