Crowne Plaza Memphis Downtown

The price was Good. My wedding coordinator Elizabeth was Excellent!! The food was Excellent at the testing. However, the food left much to be desired on our actual wedding day. It was cold and the chicken and fish were dry. A lot of my guests didn't eat. The dessert was ok, but it wasn't what we had at the tasting. At the tasting we had blueberry bread pudding. It was Delicious! At the wedding, there were no blueberries in it. It was also cold. We used the Crowne for our wedding AND reception. This meant that the room had to be flipped for the reception. It took about an hour to flip the room. I was previously informed that it may take this long. However, I didn't account for the fact that my wedding started later in the day. Plus, it was on a Sunday. By the time people got back into the room for the reception, they weren't able to stay long. We probably should have chosen a Saturday. Also, with the room flip, I knew that we had to be out of the room soon after the wedding. However, I was still thinking that we would be able to take a few pictures before leaving. We were allowed to take a couple of photos, but then we had to leave in order for the room to be set up. So, my wedding party was somewhat scattered. A lot of people actually followed us to the lawn to take photos. Others got lost in the crowd. As a result, I didn't get any good pictures with my mom or my sisters. All in all, the staff was Excellent! The front desk crew was Exceptionally Nice. Kim and the servers were very helpful. And Elizabeth was always easy to get in contact with and easy to talk to. The Bell men were Super Helpful! Even though there were a few snags, we still Enjoyed our day. My husband was Elated and that's all that mattered to me. I think this venue would be better for a smaller wedding though. We had 125 people which didn't seem like much to me. But in hindsight, I think it was a bit much for this venue. Fifty to 75 people would probably be Perfect for the room size. I also think that an earlier wedding on Saturday would be Excellent!
