Crystal Ballroom

My (now) husband and I had a reception for our wedding at Crystal Ballroom in July 2023. We had a bit of an unorthodox event, and the warm and flexible attitude of everyone we interacted with at Crystal Ballroom helped us bring the party to the next level. Renting Crystal Ballroom provided us with the entire space from 10 AM to around 1 AM; we scheduled movies and brunch from 11 AM - 3 PM, a short break, then the full-on reception from 6 PM through midnight. Overall: Everything about the process exceeded our expectations! We worked with Dave, who is literally the nicest and most organized human being. Dave made sure that we had a set schedule, that pricing (for the space itself as well as for the bar) was clear, and that nothing was confusing or unanticipated going into the event. It was like we entirely circumvented the stress typically associated with large events like this. Big credit to Dave and the team: everyone working our event was SO amazing and we would choose this venue again in a heartbeat. Layout: The layout for the ballroom is relatively modular. For our movie screenings, we opted to have chairs set out near the screen, but also let our friends know that they could bring blankets and pillows a la picnic-style. (Side notes: Crystal Ballroom provided popcorn and candy for our movie screenings, which was great!) For the afternoon/event reception, we had one of our friend's bands play as well as another one of our friends DJ for the night, so we wanted to make sure that there was a ton of room for dancing. Because we were going for a buffet-style dinner, we arranged an area for tables and chairs so people could take a break from dancing, grab a plate to eat, or chill with friends after getting a drink from the bar. There was ample space for our ~80 guests, so there was never a feeling that the space was crowded. Parking: Parking was available for us to rent behind the space, which was super helpful for the band, DJ, and caterer (we hired separately) to unload and load equipment. Event: All staff in the space were amazingly nice and everything for our night went better than we could've ever hoped. The sound engineers were fantastic the whole day, including the sound and display for our movie screenings, for our friend's band, and for our friend who DJ'd. Crystal Ballroom has a long history of holding musical acts, so it was no surprise that the venue worked with our friend's band to make sure the lighting fit their vibe, did a sound check to ensure that everything was set up and working, and ultimately made for an amazing event. The bartenders working our event were so great! Lovely conversation and fantastic drinks. We were able to coordinate times for an open bar vs. cash bar throughout the day, so that was nice. TL;DR 10/10 highly recommend this space for weddings/similar events. Event planning staff is stellar, pricing is clear, and the space is so perfect.
