We contacted the venue only about three weeks after booking, hoping they would show some understanding and compassion given the circumstances. Unfortunately, we felt that there was no willingness to work with us at all. It felt like the money was more important than understanding the situation we were going through. We were hoping they might offer at least a partial refund, or another reasonable solution, but they refused. What makes this even more disappointing is hearing about issues other people have experienced at weddings held at this venue as well. A wedding should be a happy and stress-free experience, and the venue should be working with couples not creating additional problems during such an important time. I understand businesses have policies, but there should also be basic understanding and customer service, especially when someone is dealing with an emergency and the event is still months away. Keeping $1,500 without trying to find any reasonable solution left us feeling extremely disappointed and unheard. I would personally think twice before booking this venue. Make sure you understand their cancellation and deposit policies completely before giving them your money. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this venue to couples looking for a venue that will be understanding and willing to work with them when unexpected circumstances happen. We trusted this venue with one of the most important events of our lives, and unfortunately, this experience has completely changed our opinion.
