Our style is natural, unique, and spontaneous, capturing those special moments of your wedding day. One of my brides said best: "Crystal knows when to provide direction and when to let things flow naturally." So, If you are a fun, easy-going couple who loves unique images and values photography, we are the wedding photographers for you! Want to know how we are different? If it pours down rain on your wedding day, please don't worry. I offer at no additional cost the opportunity to our couples to return to their venue to hold a couples session in their wedding attire. Why do I do this? Simple, because I hate to see my couples spend thousands of dollars for beautiful images of themselves on their wedding day only to have it rain and have everything shot inside in a dull environment/background. Obviously, I can't control the weather, but this is just my way of making sure my couple gets beautiful images of their wedding day.     I'm Crystal the owner of Crystal Image Photography. I'm a Wedding & Destination Photographer based in VA and travel all over the country to cover weddings of all types. I am also an LGBTQ friendly wedding photographer.I'm married and have one daughter. My daughter Casey is and will always be my best accomplishment in my life! I have entered my 25th year in business this year in 2021 and Casey has become my second shooter. So, I guess you could say we are a mother and daughter team! ​I'm a huge animal lover. I share my home with five beautiful rescue tuxedo kitties (NO, I am not a crazy cat lady :) and one little blind Bichon dog. Jaxson is my daughter's loveable black lab who everyone loves to meet as you may find him traveling with us at times. I'm a big-time coffee drinker, lover of tattoos, and sometimes craft beer drinker. In my free time, you can find me anywhere near the sun, sand, and water....preferably in the Caribbean if I can get there.

ah, shot the photos, and then Crystal and her team edited them. Leah was fantastic to work with and the photo gallery turned out great. We also ordered several prints and they look fantastic in person, too. We especially appreciated (1) Her ability to adapt her services to our needs and budget, offering different lengths of coverage (6 hours, 8 hours, etc) and other modifications to fit what we wanted; (2) The clarity on her website that she works in Central VA and that she is LGBT friendly, which helped us know it might be a good fit; (3) The gallery was sent to us right when she had promised, despite the fall being a very busy wedding season in VA. My only caveat is that sometimes Crystal was not super quick to respond over email, but again, fall is a very busy season for weddings here so I understand. Overall we got tremendous value for our money and we are so happy to have such beautiful photos to document our special day.

being able to make payments and all of the inclusions in the packages she offers. She responded to my never ending questions in a timely manner and helped me feel more confident and prepared. My sunset engagement photos were absolutely stunning. That was our first time having professional photos taken and Crystal made us feel so comfortable. My wedding photos were also so beautiful. My only complaint is that, as the bride, I only got a few photos alone. Looking back now, I wish I would’ve gotten bridal portraits done. It also seemed that there were more photos of my husband and his family versus mine. I should have been more clear about my wants. wedding day, we felt so confident in choosing her. Booking was super easy, and we were thrilled she was still available for our date. Crystal made the planning process so smooth. Since we didn’t have a wedding planner, her help with our timeline was a lifesaver. She made sure everything had its moment and gave us so much peace of mind. On the big day, Crystal showed up with Leah and Derek, and they were the best team we could’ve asked for. The three of them captured so many beautiful pictures and videos that we’ll treasure forever. Our only regret? Not booking a longer package so they could have captured our Robot-led party and grand exit! Now we’re trying to pick our top 80 pictures for the album, and it’s nearly impossible because there are just so many great ones. The photos were so good they even made my grandma and dad cry! Crystal and her team really listened to what mattered most to us and captured all the little details perfectly. If you’re looking for someone amazing to trust with your wedding photos and videos, Crystal is the way to go. We’re so grateful for her and her team for making our memories last forever!

s. She really takes all feedback into consideration and when your session begins Crystal already has a solid plan in place so you don’t feel lost or out of place. From our engagement session we really learned the ropes of getting our poses and we had so much fun on our wedding day. We asked Crystal to focus (other than typical wedding shots) on quality time with our families and our guests have been raving about her and her team ever since. I’ve heard “They never missed a beat!” And “I can’t wait to see your photos, the team of photographers truly seemed to know what they were doing!”. I have seen Crystal in action at a wedding prior to mine and when I saw her on TheKnot I knew I had to reach out. Thank you again Crystal- I can’t wait to see the images from our big day!

Their editing style wasn’t quite what we were looking for, but that’s just a personal choice and has nothing to do with their photography knowledge, poses, and quality. Other than some photos seeming a little washed out, the photos were beautifully posed and shot. If you like the look of the photos in their gallery, I highly recommend Crystal!

ystal, the fit was immediately correct. She asked thoughtful questions, and her enthusiasm for weddings and capturing the magic was infectious. We knew we were in good hands. After a few phone calls, and a few questionnaires we were off to the races. We had Crystal do our engagement photo shoot and our wedding photography. In both cases, Crystal took photos that were natural and beautiful. But the magic of Crystal's craft didn't come out until we saw the candid photos she took throughout the night of 6/3/2023. She, and her second shooter Casey, captured some really wonderful moments of our guests interacting, and dancing, and laughing. It was amazing. If you want beautifully framed photos of your wedding; Crystal is your gal. If you want fabulous photos of your wedding guests having the time of their lives; Crystal is your gal. My husband and I were super nervous to do our first professional photoshoot together for the engagement shots but it was a really good decision - Crystal is so easy going and knew exactly what kind of poses we should do. She was able to use the engagement shoot to understand what we liked and didn't like in those photos, and our wedding photos were even better. Highly highly recommend!
