We were disappointed on the lack of attention to detail. I got married during the middle of the pandemic and I requested the ceremony to be in Spanish and English and even though I sent her the translation of the ceremony with 2 weeks in advance for her to practice and she does state that she is bilingual; she could barely say the words and struggle to read it from the beginning to the end. We streamed live our wedding so that our family and friends could be with us and for some odd reason she kept calling me Gabriela and even on the top of my vow's sheet said Gabriela and that is not my name, my father in law had to intervene and tell her that was not my name but through the ceremony she had already called me by the wrong name several times. Sadly for us, several guests brought this out and it was really obvious. She was really kind and respond all of our question before the interview, but did not preform at our wedding how we would have wanted it to be.

Mary was very thorough and responsive from the start. She has a format to help couples fully decide their wedding ceremony details from the beginning of their practice to the end at their reception. Mary was pleasurable with everyone in attendance & performed a ceremony with us that our guests felt a part of. We are all so pleased with the wedding package the she provides.

She provided use with lots of vow templates, and all the forms you would need to make the name changes.. Are ceremony was a brief ceremony which was absolutely perfect. Mary also took the time after the ceremony to take a set of gorgeous photos too! We're so grateful to have picked a wonderful person to do are ceremony..

Today the 4th of August 2020 I married my best friend and the father of my sons by JP Mary Pugh and I must say its was a great experience in all. Even with rain and an impending hurricane approaching Mary was incredibly patient, punctual and kind throughout the whole process. She took our photos and recorded videos for us right by the riverside. It was fun, exciting and relaxing. I would recommend her for anyone's wedding. She was excellent.

Mary was professional and easy to work with. Our wedding had been delayed due to the pandemic, and we wanted a simple but meaningful legal ceremony. She met us at our location of choice, a local beach, and officiated a lovely ceremony. Her fee covered submitting the marriage license, a keepsake copy of our vows, and photos and videos she took during and after the ceremony. Highly recommend!

Mary was extremely helpful since the first phone call. I wanted to do something simple and she gave me suggestions of where I could have my wedding. She provided me with templates for ceremony scripts through dropbox. On the day of the wedding Mary made a video and took various pictures which were nice to remember the day. She’s truly is best justice of the peace in CT. I would recommend her 100 times over.

Mary was just great. We had a snafoo with the venue and she was very accomodating on VERY short notice. She helped take off a lot of the pressure getting to the date and with the vows. Would definitely recommend her services.

Mary Pugh is amazing! She just officiated my ceremony and she absolutely hit it out of the ballpark. She is soft and gentle when she needs to be, with a formidable, strong voice that demands attention and respect. She was also so lovely to talk to, easing my anxiety and tension with assurance that everything will go as planned. My brother happened to be late, and this threw the timing of things off slightly and yet Mary was so patient and understanding- a real gem! Do not hesitate to hire her as she’s a cut above the rest. A beautiful officiator who is impeccably organized, warm and generous with her time. I’m sure she get’s booked often so make sure you secure her asap.

Mary officiated our wedding on Saturday and she was absolutely wonderful! Not only did she take the time to meet with us beforehand to talk about the ceremony, she was always very responsive to emails to answer any questions we had. She got to the ceremony site a bit early and took some photos of the bridal party outside doing photos and other candids of our guests which I soooo appreciated! Especially since we will need to wait 8 weeks for the professional photos to get to us. The ceremony went beautifully and even though there was a little hiccup with the string quartet, Mary addressed it gracefully and made light of the awkward situation, making everyone laugh. I can’t thank her enough for her professionalism, attention to detail, and grace. The photos of us at the end and with our rings were beautiful.

Mary did such an amazing job on our ceremony! It was important to us that our wedding not just be about us, but the people around us, which is something I didn’t think we would achieve with the ceremony itself. However, Mary’s words conveyed that message perfectly. My family keeps telling me how touching and beautiful it was. Mary was an absolute dream to work with. She provided us with so much information that helped us create the perfect ceremony and also help us plan the rest of our wedding. Mary was amazing. She met with us shortly after I reached out to her. She is super sweet and was a big help in explaining how we apply for our marriage license. She replied back to all my emails and questions instantly which is almost unheard of. We did not hire a videographer but she videotaped our vows and that was such a nice touch to her services and I will cherish that video forever. Mary officiated our wedding in Simsbury, CT recently, and was completely wonderful. In the planning stages, she allowed us the flexibility to craft a ceremony that we were comfortable with, and that reflected who my wife and I are as individuals, and as a couple. Mary’s ceremonies are eloquently written and beautifully arranged, and we ended up using a ceremony she had written with some minor personal customization. It turned out lovely. On our wedding day, Mary arrived to our venue early, making sure that everything was in order for our ceremony to run smoothly. She also took a still video of our ceremony, and provided her own Bluetooth sound system for us to use for our ceremony music. It also had a microphone attached for us to use during the ceremony. Just a few hours after our ceremony, Mary had already sent us the video and photos that she took, as well as a scanned copy of our completed marriage license. We are very pleased with the work that Mary did to make sure that our wedding ceremony was successful and beautiful. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding officiant in CT!

As an officiant Mary Pugh helped create a wonderful warm and inclusive celebration. On a day where everything means so much and excitement can be so high, her calm and reassuring manner was supportive and welcome. Mary was very friendly and easy to work with. She wanted to make sure our day went the way we wanted it! She had lots of references and examples to help us plan. She took the time to get to know us and what we were looking for. She walked us through the ceremony to make sure we were prepared. And she did a great job running the ceremony! She did a lovely dramatic reading, with her beautiful voice and careful prosody. She improvised around minor glitches, and made sure everything went smoothly.

I used Mary's daughter Christy. She was great, sent me a bunch of scripts that we combined into an original piece for our ceremony. She was also able to incorporate a celtic handfasting ceremony, for our Irish heritage.

She makes this as easy as possible for you. We were blown away with everything she provided for us. She did a great job, has a great voice, and dressed professionally (you are also given many options on what she wears). Extremely happy we picked her for our wedding, she is a top choice.

Wonderful officiant! We were married by Mary on the coldest day of the year 1/6/18! She was such a delight to work with; very through and she made the process and day so easy! I had no worries with Mary there. She did a wonderful job with our ceremony, including a hand ceremony and blessing of the rings. She made everything go smoothly. She even took so many pictures afterwards and a video of the ceremony. We didn't get a videographer, and when we got the video of our ceremony I was SO happy she recorded it! I would highly recommend Mary - definitely lives up to the name Ct's TOP JP! :)
