Renae catered the cakes for our wedding and was an absolute pleasure to work with. We purchased three different sheet cakes, gluten-free cupcakes, along with a two-tier wedding cake. Everything tasted delightful! During our consultation, Renae offered many suggestions on flavor pairings even beyond what she had available for us to sample. It took so much of the stress away to know that she was there to advise us. She made us feel so welcome and even sent us home with some fudge she had made that day. Our cakes all turned out beautiful and delicious on the actual day of the wedding. We would highly recommend Renae.

Renae has made several cakes now for our family celebrations and we knew we needed her on our team to make our wedding cake, too! Our wedding was 7/9/2022 after TWO postponements due to COVID (original wedding date was 7/18/2020!) Renae worked with us every step of the way from selecting the flavors, cake stand, coordinating delivery and more. We even added macarons to our dessert menu last minute which she was happy to make for us. The cake we selected was a two-tier pink champagne cake with blackberry cream filling and buttercream frosting. It was wonderfully constructed and adorned with fresh floral. Our guests went back for seconds and LOVED the cake! Without a doubt, Renae is a master at her craft and creates delicious flavor combinations that really elevate the typical wedding cake. We will be going to Renae for her delectable cakes for many years!

Wow, wow, wow! Renee with Custom Cakes is amazing. She offers a variety of different flavors and can do gluten free too. She provided us with a beautiful and delicious three tier cake that was delivered and set up in one piece. Additionally, we hired Renee to make a croquembouche to go along with the cake. And seriously guys, those things are not easy to make, but yet Renee made it happen. Both the cake and croquembouche turned out amazing. We love her cakes so much, that we have made Custom Cakes our designated cake place for birthdays and special events. You guys can't go wrong in choosing Custom Cakes NW.

AHHH!! We had the best cake ever! My husband and I attended a wedding open house at Hotel Oregon in McMinnville, OR a year before our wedding and found Renae with Custom Cakes NW. We love cake, we appreciate good cake, and Renae had the most amazing sampler tray that we could not stop thinking about. It was so easy to set up a time to visit with her and share my pinterest board ideas for the wedding cake. I asked for a white buttercream frosting decorated with fresh fruit and flowers. She delivered in the most amazing way. We also had a macroon tray with a variety of flavors and I regret to say I did not get a single one because they were gone so quick! I highly recommend Custom Cakes NW for your next event or wedding, you will not be disappointed with her amazing cakes and treats.

I set up a tasting about five days in advance, showed up on the correct date and time but no one answered the door (tasting is done in her home). We waited for a little while, I emailed and called but did not receive an answer so we ended up leaving. I got an email a couple hours later saying something had come up last second and that she didn’t have my number to notify me. We had been communicating via email for all our conversations so it was very frustrating to drive all the way out there, have my fiancé and father take off work early, just to have no one there. In my opinion, it would only have taken a few seconds to send me an email to let us know she couldn’t make it. The email I received was a quick apology and asking if I wanted to reschedule. I can’t imagine relying or depending on someone like this to perform such a large task for my wedding. It’s not something I’m willing to risk.

Renae was amazing. She had unique flavors representative of the region. Our guests devoured her cake. She worked with my florist so I wouldn't have to worry about decorating the cake on the wedding day. She dropped the cake off and set everything up. It was perfection. She was amazing and very available leading up to the wedding, which I appreciated. Work with her and you will not be disappointed. Thank you, Renae!

Renae was AWESOME. We had about 200 guests at our wedding. When we met with her with next to no idea what we wanted in a cake, she came up with unbelievable flavors (chocolate stout, ginger peach, and raspberry pound cake) that helped make that detail of our wedding completely our own. She put together a great tasting of combinations of cake and frosting flavors. She was very organized, reliable, and a very good communicator. She is serious about making cakes that taste good and hold up, and she went to extreme lengths to make sure our cake was absolutely perfect. She was so professional throughout the whole process, and added NO stress to our planning or wedding day. She was wonderful to work with and we would recommend her to anyone!

Renae was able to take our ideas, dreams and what we had envisioned and turn this into reality. She skillfully guided us away from some ideas that would have had bad results. Our cake was exquisite, delicate and amazing. We can't recommend her highly enough! Use her and you will not be sorry!

After trying what seemed like 50 different cakes, my fiance (now husband) and I decided to book with Renae at Custom Cakes. We had a great time sampling different flavors, fillings, and icings in her kitchen and enjoyed the variety of options for our cake. The end product was both delicious and beautiful! We got lots of compliments from our guests both during the reception and after. We were very happy with our choice!

Renae is an artist...knows how to see what you are wanting before you know yourself. She is a visionary! Our cakes were beyond beautiful and tasted wonderful!

Renae is a wonderful person to talk to, but not my favorite business person or cake designer. She was very kind in the consultation, although she did not offer cake samples which I thought odd. When it got closer to my wedding she was testy about my payments, which I understood, but she questioned whether I was even going with her, which I said all along. When it came to my wedding day, she shattered my focal point cake topper. Renae added flowers to the topper, but it got worse. She didn't put enough support into the cake so it sank and was lopsided. She also tired to add flowers to cover that up. I understand accidents, but I specifically said no lavender on the cake and she added lavender dots instead of dark purple. She also said it would be a 5-layer cake and it was only two. I'm not one to give bad reviews, but when I saw a similar one on Google, I wish I would have read it. Bride beware ...
