My take on these negative reviews was that they were written by people who have a chip on their shoulder and believe that no kind gesture should go unpunished. We got our amazing and unique wedding invites through her and everyone (and I do mean everyone) thought they were amazing because they were all hand crafted and put together by hand that incorporated our theme and our colors. because we liked that so much we had Karen help us with the big day of seating chart and special table pieces that she invented called triple cards (THESE are super cool and the guests at the wedding thought they were a hoot!). The best part about all these things being made by the same person - they all had the same theme and images run through all of them! Several people were super impressed that I was able to tie all these things together and they said it was all beautifully done. Overall, Karen was easy to work with (And talk with lol I stayed an extra half hour because we were having so much fun talking) and dedicated to doing a wonderful job for you and giving you what you want for your invitations or other creations. I would, and am, planning on using her again in the future for big events down the line. I cannot say again how amazing this lady is at the work she does.

I came away with items completed two weeks ahead of schedule and a new tradition of serving myself a cup of tea with fine china. I did not know what to expect as he was not as involved in the planning of our wedding and just kinda' put everything on me aka "Whatever you like honey". I must admit to my surprise he was super involved in the invitation process and we had a lot of fun with Karen. She had a wide assortment of specialized and custom papers from us to choose from and we were like children in art class cutting and choosing what pretty papers we wanted. Our invitations really set the tone we wanted for our wedding as people were really dressed up and flew from far and wide to see the "Royal Wedding". We finished our invitation in one visit and she duplicated the replica we made and everyone raved about our invitations. Her prices were more than reasonable for the work and pride she puts into all that she does. Her work is quality and all of our guest talked about how much they loved our invitations. Some of our male guest told me they typically loose or throw invitations away but saved ours. I would recommend Karen again and again. She was so sweet and made the experience perfect for us. My husband is crazy about her and enjoyed working with her probably as much if not more than I did. Her shadow box with our invitations and etc was amazing and she even made our seating chart beautiful. Our theme was the Royal Wedding and I can truly say she made my wildest dreams a reality. I wish I could attach the pictures so you could see as this description truly does not do her work any justice. Tell her your vision and she will make it come to fruition.

what you envisioned...but really didn't know before you got there! She helps you to discover all the possibilities and the end result really is awesome and sets the tone for your entire wedding. She pulls out beautiful papers and ribbons and lace and doo-dads and designs it with you while you are sitting there and then helps you write your custom wording as well. If you want a very personal experience and gorgeous invitations I wouldn't go anywhere else.

She designed a one-of-a-kind baby shower invitation for us with Noah's Ark as the theme and she hand-cut the little animals out and popped them up 3-D...so cute! When it comes to creativity, personalized service, and a wonderful experience...you need look no further. This is where you want to be. The process is just plain fun! Note: When I went to check her reviews recently I was astonished to see a couple of negative reviews. Don't know who those people are but trust me when I say Karen is the sweetest person and easiest to get along with ever...must have been bridezillas on the loose!

stressful disaster. She always claims that she is not a businesswoman, she just does this because she loves to be creative and it shows. She is terrible at organization and remembering things. She would tell us one thing or give us one price, only to change it a month later. She would deny every giving us the original quote. Karen would never take responsibility for her mistakes, only that it is your responsibility to remember things; not hers. Everything is your fault, not hers. Her method of organizing your file is by placing all your stuff in a shoe-box. She will do nothing but cause you headaches if you choose Karen to do your invitations. I would not recommend Karen to anyone, I have warned my wedding planner about recommending her, and I will never do business with her again. If you do choose to work with her, be warned... write down EVERYTHING she says, save all your quotes, LOSE NOTHING! You cannot depend on her to stay true to her word. She will forget something. The invitations that were mailed out were beautiful, but they were not worth the stress it brought.

Every word inked is specifically tailored to your desire. The spacing is eloquently rendered by a professional. Yes, the process is going to take a few hours to design. Yes, it does cost more than wedding paper diva's or any other mass produced, comes on a perforated sheet, invite. You are paying for a touch of elegance. They are a truly unique reflection of two personalities that are coming together. The invitations set the tone for your guests . Anything else is insufficient by my standards. It was well worth every penny we spent, and Karen really is lovely. She loves to celebrate with you. A bottle of wine to commemorate one less thing on your list. A hug at the end of your visit. If problems arise she will communicate this to you. She does request that you send her a photo on your special day so that she can share in your joy. Karen makes you feel like family. Our order may not have been exactly on time, but sometimes it takes a little longer for perfection and I understood that the best I could. For couples wishing to use Custom Creations and Invitations; the deposit may be made with a credit card, but your final payment must be made in cash. I highly do recommend this business. Thank you Karen, it means a great deal to me that you've made our special day truly extraordinary.

used on making sure my fiancé and I were happy. She was extremely patient while I changed my mind several times. You can tell this is her passion, and she loves what she does--it shows in her beautiful work. I would recommend her to anyone!

send save the dates but to instead send out invitations earlier. She told me we have PLENTY OF TIME. so I requested June instead. I didn't feel this was out of line. She then proceeds to tell me they will be done by July 2nd. The day I was to Send out my invites for 240 GUESTS! I stressed to her that they need to be done as early as possible. She called me on July 2nd to tell me they wouldn't be ready until July 9th. It is now July 7th and I called to find out my remaining balance ( I was informed I would be sent this info in an email and NEVER WAS) And she tells me they wont be ready until ATLEAST July 16th.. 2 weeks after my invites were supposed to be sent out! She then repeatedly kept telling me I was yelling at her and harassing her. While yes I am angry, and I have every right to be when you BREAK YOUR CONTRACT, I never yelled at her. She repeatedly kept telling me to be quiet when she couldn't give me an answer as to why something I ordered 6 MONTHS AGO is still not done. While I was waiting to find out when exactly I would be able to have these invitations (that we are paying over a GRAND for) she is telling me they are still in pieces!!!!! Buckles and ribbons just hanging out in a box!!! The lack of follow up (she apparently never got our guest list and addresses that we email in May, wouldn't you contact your customer if you hadn't received something?!) and lack of Customer service astounds me. I will be telling everyone far and wide that they "have been blessed with an abundance of work" which is apparently code for they don't care about your schedule for, ya know, the biggest day of your life! Just their money. You're better off ordering from ShutterFly than this place. At least you know they will be ready on time.

and she made it all so simple and smooth-sailing. Thank goodness for Karen. I met her and instantly knew that I wanted to work with her for my wedding invitations. She is just wonderful to work with. She makes you feel welcome when you meet with her and works hard to work within the means of your budget. Her invitations are BEAUTIFUL and her expectations and pricing is clear from the get-go, so no surprises. There were a couple of times that I had to make changes to my order and Karen was more than accommodating. She is easy to be in contact with via email, calling, and/or even texting! I would definitely recommend Karen and Custom Creations & Invitations to anyone looking for wedding or event invitations.

on the table after the owner continued to write church ceremony handouts after both my daughter and I stated they were not wanted. I was at one end of the table and the mother in law to be was at the other end of a 6 foot table, very far from the pen. What she left out was that she was contacted 20 minutes after the appointment and informed that the situation had been worked out with the mother in law to be, but she stated the check was already sent to the bank. She refused to cancel the order and refund the money after the check cleared or apply the money to the current order. Not sure that is even legal. So we were stuck with church handouts we did not really want. Also, no invitations left her establishment without paying the other half of the order, which was $630 in cash, which was brought to the appointment. The question to the staff was why did the full order have to be paid when the reception cards, church ceremony, and thank you cards were still owed. By the way not just us but everyone has to pay in cash. Had she not continued to write the order, the drama would not have occurred. And yes you do have to schedule an appointment to pick the product orders as they are completed within five days of when she gets It ready, on her schedule, or pay a fee. My daughter had to change an appointment because of a foot and a half of snow and she was upset with my daughter, who did not want to drive from Lake Orion to Canton in bad weather to pick up a partial order. My daughter did send the owner an email to let her know we would pick the completed invitations up on the way to Chicago and they were in a bag at the door when we arrived. The staff were put in a bad situation and tried to be helpful but constricted by all the owner’s rules. By the way, you will get a list of her rules as a contract, so read carefully before you sign. Out of all the providers this is the only one that there has been an issue with. Hopefully, we will get the rest of the order, now that it has all been paid for. If you’re willing to do what she says, when she says it and in her time frame, you will have very pretty and professional looking invitations.

You have to pay in full before receiving your complete order so you cannot be sure she will even fulfill it. Can only pay in cash. If you cancel anything you still have to pay the same amount and have to get something from her. She won't return emails or phone calls. Her staff talked bad about my fiancé and I while we were standing there. She walked in when we picked up our invatation and the first thing she asked her staff was did we pay? She doesn't care about you or your wedding just that she makes her money. As a bride she has been my biggest regret in planning my wedding. I've left in tears twice after dealing with her and her poor attitude.

Additionally, she was able to craftily include appropriate wording for the Catholic Nuptial part of our celebration, and that was the portion of the invitation I was most worried about. Despite an error on the response card envelope that forced me to make another trip after it was corrected, I was very pleased with the end results.
