About this vendor
I custom craft original wedding poetry about the couple and their journey — from scratch. No templates, no recycling. The poem is then printed on your choice of letterpressed stock, matted & framed. A personalized, one-of-a-kind gift from one partner to another, or from friends & family. The wedding poem can also be an integral part of the ceremony itself or be printed on programs, invitations, or thank-you notes.
Through our conversations via phone or email, I gather the key details of the couple's unique story. I listen closely to understand what makes this love & journey special. The resulting poem is a true work of art that beautifully & skillfully reflects this most meaningful of days.

Our wedding poem was a surprise gift from our dear friend, who also officiated our wedding. He worked the poem into the ceremony to elegant and memorable effect. My new bride and ...
I still marvel at how the poem captures the spirit of our meeting, courtship, proposal, and life together. I can't recommend Marty's unique service enough, whether it be as a gift, or perhaps as a touching element of a nontraditional ceremony such as ours.
I will admit, my first reaction to the idea of a custom wedding poem was a raised eyebrow. I feared the worst. Then, I heard one of Marty's works read at a wedding and was absolu...
tely stunned.
Now, nearly a year later I find myself as an officiant of a ceremony for dearly beloved friends...who are also difficult to buy a wedding present for. The idea of a custom poem fits them perfectly. Using only the information I could provide (either from my knowledge of the two, or sneakily garnered from conversations with them), Marty was able to provide a piece so perfectly suited to the couple that you would think he knew them himself!
The process is about as smooth as one could expect. Marty not only uses the information you provide, but then works with you through an editing process. He is open and willing to make changes based on your input...where appropriate. In instances where he does not accept your suggestions his reasoning (poetic and literal) is well thought and always with purpose.
This is a truly unique gift, created with the requisite love and talent befitting a poet.
Even now, years later, a week does not go by without spontaneously and joyfully reading our poem to myself, as a cherished reminder of the most special commitment it commemorates.
I heard an original poem by Custom Wedding Poems for the first time at one of my favorite weddings of all time off the coast of Maine. The poem really hit home because it completel...
y captured the couple, and it was memorable because like many details of their wedding, I had never heard or seen anything like it before. I think a lot of people think about the reception and forget to plan the ceremony with the same level of thought, and that's a missed opportunity--when they are done well, the readings and song choices at the ceremony make a huge impact. Custom Wedding Poems can make a lasting impression. The couple now has the poem framed on the wall in their kitchen, and it's a daily reminder of how their relationship began and a wonderful memory from that day in Maine. I would highly recommend enlisting Custom Wedding Poems for your own personalized piece of art!
Marty wrote a poem for our wedding a couple years ago, and friends still comment on it! I was amazed by how he wove together elements of separate lives, the location, and our hope...
s for the future. Not only was the final product a work of art, but working with Marty is such a treat. He's clever, thoughtful, and tireless in his pursuit of perfect words.
Custom Wedding Poems allowed us to have a beautiful and unique conversation piece at our wedding day. We were amazed that after a brief conversation over the phone, and answering s...
ome questions online, we received a deeply personal poem that so wonderfully encapsulated our love for each other. Family and friends attending our wedding stopped to read the poem on their way in, and were commenting on the poem's beauty all day. Next to the raw oyster bar, the poem was the most talked about item at the wedding! We proudly hang our poem in a central place in our home. My husband and I look at it every day. The poem not only reminds me of our wedding day, but how strong our love is for one another. We are so lucky to have this memento from our special day.
I was guest at a good buddy's wedding where a Custom Wedding Poem was read. Unique to the couple, the powerful poem really captured the moment. It even brought the officiant to ...
tears. The newlyweds had the framed poem on display so we could all read over the wonderfully crafted piece. Much of the buzz on the buffet line was about how lovely the poem was. I think a Custom Wedding Poem would be the perfect component for any wedding.

Marty and found him to be easy to work with. The product was all I had hoped for and more - a beautiful, warm, touching, and personal poem and stunning framed presentation. Everyone at the wedding raved about the poem, including the couple, the moms, the guests, and me!

apture the essence of our relationship and our life together is truly amazing. We have a framed copy of the poem hanging in a place of honor in our family room. Thank you Marty, I wish I had your skill with words so I could write a more eloquent review!
Our poem from Custom Wedding Poems is simply amazing. Before writing anything, Marty really took the time to talk with us about our relationship, how we met, and what we care abou...
t. While talking with him, it was easy to see that he cared about who we were and writing something unique for us. When I first mentioned the idea of a wedding poem to my wife, she had some misgivings about what a poem would really be like – thinking it might read like a slightly profane limerick. When I surprised her with the poem Marty wrote, she cried and said right away that she wanted it read at our wedding. It was a great addition to our service too. Marty gave all of our guests a better chance to see who we were and why loved each other so much . . . more than a few guests cried. After our wedding, we hung the poem on our wall. We smile every time we read it, thinking both about our wedding and how lucky we are to have found each other. We cannot speak well enough of Custom Wedding Poems, and it is largely due to all the care and effort Marty puts into his work. It will easily be the most unexpected and appreciated gift for any couple starting their lives together.
