This is the bride to be from the other bad review that was given to Cynthia Black. I wanted to give my insight on it as I am so upset that Cynthia would do such a thing. My fiance was being the sweetest towards her but she mentioned in the contract that she will be charging us for things that was never discussed or agreed upon. She was charging us $600 plus a $88 mileage fee and $50 trip charge fee. All my fiance did was ask her about the $50 trip charge out of curiosity because she never mentioned it and she responds that she will not be able to officiate our wedding. She also mentioned in our consultation that we can go to her with any questions and that she is so easy to talk with well obviously that is not the case. Her contract also gives her so much control over the wedding which made us so uncomfortable. She is literally nickel and diming us even if the ceremony runs late a couple minutes. On the bright side because of our terrible experience with Cynthia we were able to find such a FANTASTIC and most AMAZING officiant we also found here on the Knot (name we cannot list unfortunately)We are so happy we have found her and she makes us feel as we are important and able to ask and go to her for anything we need. Please if all possible STAY AWAY from Cynthia.

My fiancé and I are very disappointed in the service that was provided. All prior reviews may have been great in the past because once we met her we thought we have found the perfect person for the job. After we discussed prices she disclosed to us that it would be a specific amount plus Milage that we would have to pay. After choosing to go with her and asking her to forward over to us the contract to sign i come to realize she is charging me for things that we did not agree on. I emailed her a very nice email asking what those charges were out of curiousity (it was only $50 nothing I was mad about just being curious) and I get a response saying she will no longer be officiating our wedding. My fiancé was so happy to have found her and now I have to break the bad news to her because of a question that was asked. She also had to reschedule our first appointment twice before we were able to finally meet with her. Very unprofessional and would highly recommend to stay away. Please be aware.

We were renewing our vows so it wasn't the traditional "I dos". Cynthia custom made our vows so it fit our theme and ceremony. She was so sincere and professional. We loved working with her. She took our feedback into consideration and made sure we were completely satisfied with the vows. She made sure she was on time, dressed appropriately, and was professional from the first appointment to the end of the ceremony.

We must say, Cynthia was the best! She is so elegant and classy, and really radiated while she spoke during our ceremony. She put together a beautiful ceremony for us, and we are so glad that we got to work with her for our wedding. She is very good at understanding the bride and groom, and knows what she is doing.

My husband and I were so stressed about planning an interfaith ceremony and finding an officiant who could navigate our Jewish-Christian beliefs. Our wedding planner came up with one name when we asked for suggestions, which made me nervous. But after meeting with Cynthia one time, we knew we had found the perfect officiant. Whatever type of ceremony you would like, Cynthia will make it special. She has wonderful ideas that are new and different from what you see in weddings every day. She suggested a tree planting, ring warming ceremony as well as alternate and modern wording to various parts of the ceremony. Her ceremony design for us was new and refreshing, and still traditional. Cynthia was able to weave our beliefs into a beautifully designed ceremony that acknowledged and respected both our faiths. So many of our guests told us it was the beautiful ceremony they had every been to and that they were so impressed with how we had designed the ceremony to which I said... "It was all Cynthia!!" Everything is included when you sign up with Cynthia ... from an hour rehearsal to the speaker/amplification system. She is organized and professional. She sends an email confirmation for each meeting, gives you an outline of when and how many times you will need to meet. Cynthia prepared an outline of various ceremony structures and wordings to the components of the ceremony (vows, etc). Cynthia will even help you write your vows if you are so inclined. In addition, she created an outline to help you prepare for and make decisions prior to the rehearsal evening. She really does it all and she does it flawlessly. It was really perfect, Thank you Cynthia!

Cynthia is AMAZING! She created the most meaningful and personal ceremony for my husband and me. She is very good at what she does! defiantly worth every penny!

I found this officiant online through theknot.com and searched her website which had videos of services she has performed. I liked what she had to say - as we were looking for a non-traditional, secular wedding. Cynthia had some great ideas - which some of them we used - and it turned out to be a lovely ceremony.
