this bride has said she’s very happy with her pictures, she felt it necessary to besmirch my good reputation. So, I have to tell my side of the story in an attempt to help future potential clients understand the source of this negative review. The first thing I do for potential clients is to create a timeline with them outlining their wedding plan and talking about how much time they’ll need to book in order to take the pictures they want taken. In this case, Danielle and Zach decided to book an hour less than I recommended. This led to not having enough time to shoot every shot they wanted, and then having to add time which had to be paid for at the wedding. For the sake of timing, at the wedding Danielle authorized editing her shot list which resulted in not getting all of the pictures she had originally asked for. When to shoot time ended, and she had to pay the additional balance due for the extra hour, she said to her wedding party as I stood by, “Everyone warned me about money grubbing photographers.” I was at a loss as to how to respond to such an insult in front of her party. The work finished and payment made, I thought it best to make a quick and quiet exit. It is so frustrating to take such pride in what I do and have to offer and then be treated so badly. And then there is the follow up of working tirelessly on the thousands of pictures to deliver a beautiful finished representation of the wedding day. I always try to tell each wedding's story honestly, but didn’t want to let my feelings of being mistreated to come through in the imagery. This bride was just plain mean, to me and the other vendors involved. The fact that she herself says the pictures are beautiful tells me I was successful in putting my feelings aside and doing my job very well. As to the timing for delivering the final images, I am completely forthright in explaining the timing for post production. Typically it takes a week to finish a full size wedding. Because of the number of weddings I shoot each year, and that they almost all are shot within a four month period, it takes approximately three months to deliver the finished wedding online, which are then ready for full resolution image downloads. Once I have the approval on the wedding photography I can then mail off your backup thumb drive. I call it a backup because you have immediate access to download any images you need as soon as they are posted online. This bride’s work was delivered digitally 14 weeks after the wedding. And she was able to access her downloads at that time. Her thumb drive was delayed because she took a few weeks to respond to my emails asking for approval, and then because it was the height of my shooting season. But again, she had access to all the pictures through online downloads. I have shot over 300 weddings, over the last 12 years. Most people are so appreciative of my art and service, but there will always be mean people who feel entitled to treat people badly just because they are paying them. This type of person is someone we all have to deal with from time to time, but this is not someone’s opinion to value at all.
