ork best for the type of cake I wanted (semi-naked). Since this was a destination wedding for us, we chose not to save the top tier. There was a little bit of cake left over that I willingly ate on the drive back to Chicago the next day. If D Bar is an option for your cake, you should choose them. You will not have regrets!

sizable portions with lots of fillings to try. Although they weren't that commmunicative and we were concerned that they might have forgotten us, we had no reason to be concerned. The cake arrived right on time and D Bar even placed the flowers we had wanted on it that were provided by our florist. Cannot recommend them enough!

and he was SO right! To start, the tasting was professional, but relaxed, and we were given a broad range of cakes/frostings/fillings to try. I loved their lemon curd, but wanted lime curd for filling instead. It was not a problem at all and they made it just for me! After sending cake ideas to each other, I was sent several drafts and my ideas were adjusted from there.
My cake was a 3-tier with vanilla bean buttercream frosting, vanilla cake, and lime curd filling. The middle tier was covered in white rock candy for texture and the top/bottom tiers were clean (almost looked like fondant it was so perfect). It was beeeautiful! Lisa was so accommodating, even making my cake perfect in the midst of the shop changing locations. My guests were taking pictures and wanted seconds they loved it so much! I had zero problems and couldn't be happier with my experience!
