D. James Videography

On the date of first meeting Derek to book him for the wedding he didn’t show up to the meeting. We waited at Starbucks for an hour while calling and e-mailing with no answer, but ended up leaving. He then called saying to meet at a Starbucks of our choice saying he forgot. We sat at another Starbucks waiting while he was stuck in traffic, until he called again asking us to meet at a third Starbucks of the day. On the day of Derek showed up alone when we paid to have 2 videographers in our contract. We were promised to have our video within 2 months to go over editing, but didn’t receive the video until 7 months post wedding. When received, the video was missing my dad’s welcome speech, we couldn’t hear the vows due to the microphone being on the priest who was too far away to pick up what was being said during the vows, and the camera angles were focused on the back of the crowd and we couldn’t see what was going on. I was watching Derek and my photographers walk around rather than what was happening up front. We expressed our disappointment and Derek was very apologetic and agreed to have the rest of the footage and edits to us within a week, along with $300 comping us for the missing videographer. 2 months later, the footage was received but missing the $300 promised in December. Great guy, loved the montage and speeches, just super disappointed by the entire experience start to finish.

Wow, just wow. Derek blew any and all of our expectations out of the water with our wedding video. So so glad we decided to do a wedding video and even more glad that we picked Derek to do the job. He captured our love and our day perfectly and I cannot stop watching the video.

I have the utmost respect for Derek and his talent. He created the most beautiful and romantic highlight video for our wedding that we can't stop watching! I was originally impressed most by his cinematography, but was really blown away by his ability to capture intimate moments that we can re-live for the rest of our lives. All of our guests said they either teared up or cried while watching the video - that's how much love and emotion he was able to capture! Such a great value for the work he delivers!

Where do I even begin?! I knew I always wanted a videographer for our wedding but it was definitely something that got pushed to the back burner during planning so it was became a last minute decision. I was THRILLED when Derek and Aria said their company was available for our wedding date and after meeting with Derek, I knew they were the right choice. I am so thankful we decided to hire D. James Videography. Derek and Aria are SO unbelievably kind and easy to work with. Aria was fantastic with all of our communication and Derek was very professional and on his game- through the planning and on the big day. Our wedding DVD is something I know we will cherish forever and it was worth every penny and should be on everyone's "must have" list! Our highlight film is absolutely beautiful. Derek captured our day from start to finish so perfectly. He accommodated my requests, no matter how silly they seemed. I will say it took a little longer than we expected to receive our final product (to be fair, some of that was on our end with requests) but in the end, we are very happy and would highly recommend D. James Videography! Everyone raved about our highlight film and said that they loved reliving it (even the happy tears) or felt like they had been there. Derek was great at capturing each special moment but not being intrusive or in the way. His work on our highlight film is truly something special and that of a true artist. Our DVD includes the highlight film, the entire ceremony and the speeches and toasts. Your wedding day goes by SO fast and it is honestly amazing to be able to look back and enjoy it over and over again. There is an incredible amount of planning and money that you put into this day, so trust me, you want to be able to remember it and be a part of moments that you may not have even been a part of on that day. His work is phenomenal, pricing is extremely reasonable (and as mentioned early, worth every penny) and end result is priceless. You will not regret working with D. James Videography and your day will forever be remembered with such beauty and all the feels!

As most of you are probably doing right now,I too questioned my need of a videographer. Before you read any further I would just like to say...YES,YOU NEED DEREK! My fiance as well as our families were very against it as we had a photographer already however every time I would watch such videos I would get emotional. Many times we went back and fourth regarding this, thankfully a few of my HS friends posted their videos on FB which were done by Derek and that was enough for me! From the moment I contacted Derek, I could tell this would be amazing. He worked with me as far as hours needed, budget and getting the feel for every detail which was important to us. The day of our wedding, even with all the equipment we never once felt as though he was in the way. When we received our video, not only was I in tears but so was my husband and our families. EVERY SINGLE PERSON has told us that they are so glad we used Derek and can't believe what an unbelievable job he did. No matter how many times we watch it, we still cry and feel that same emotion as we did that day. Derek, thank you for capturing every detail, every tear,every beautiful moment that allows us to relive that day and remind us what this life is all about!

D. James videography was awesome to work with. his work is just amazing. it was the best money I spent on the wedding and me and my husband are so happy with the video. my family and friends loved it as well. I would def recommend him.

Captured Memories Will Last Us A Lifetime Our wedding was in October 2015. We hired Derek toward the last minute... We're so glad the other reviews were here to provide us with the comfort that we were making the right choice, so it only made sense for us to return and leave our experience, so others can take comfort during what is undoubtedly a stressful and trying time. In sum: GO FOR IT! Hire Derek as your videographer. You won't be disappointed. Of all our vendors, Derek was simply the most professional. He put everyone at ease and really captured the day in a way that looks effortless... We have been married for nine months and have already watched the videos several times, because, believe us, the whole day really does fly by. Could not be any happier that we hired Derek to "capture" these memories that we can now relive over and over again. Thanks Derek & co for a job very, very well done.

I was initially hesitant to get a videographer because of the additional cost, but D. James Videography was well worth it. He was great to work with throughout the whole process and the finished product was incredible - from the editing to the lighting and music. My wife and I couldn't have been happier. If you're on the fence, just do it! D. James did a fantastic job and I know we'll be happy of our decision for many years to come. Highly recommended.

Derek was the videographer for my wedding and I couldn't have asked for a better videographer. The video captured all of the most memorable moments and I received a ton of compliments on the video. I also had the Slo-Mo video and that was a ton of fun for the guests at my wedding and made for a great addition to remember the memories! Derek was very professional and I would definitely recommend him.

D. James Videography filmed our wedding on October of last year and did an excellent job! He took careful note of the special aspects of our wedding we wanted filmed, but he also demonstrated professional experience in how he made sure to capture aspects of our wedding we didn't even knew we wanted! When we look back at that day, we watch our videos rather than photos because his shots capture the moment so much better. The videos this company produces are outstanding and make you feel like you relive the wedding every time you watch them! If you could only chose one media source for your wedding I would definitely choose this videographer. His work is so much better than a wedding album.

Initially, booking a videographer was an after-thought. I had spent a lot of my time, energy, and budget on my wedding photographer; however, at the insistence of my mother, I decided to book Derek... and I have not regretted it since. Derek did an INCREDIBLE job. He was reliable, great with communication, and he met the deadlines he set for himself. But all that aside, he captured my wedding beautifully, and it's my wedding video-- not the pictures-- that really bring back all the great memories I have of my wedding day. Derek is a skillful artist, and there's no question that he's been given a talent for this work. I highly recommend him.

D. James Videography did an amazing job with capturing those truly precious moments from our wedding and then putting it in to a priceless video. I have cherished having the video memories even more than my still shots (from another photographer). He was even able to take some excellent still shots, from his video, that I have as photos on my wall. A lot of the still shots that he took from his video came out better then my photos from another wedding photographer. My husband and I have enjoyed watching our wedding video and re-living all those special moments together. D. James also did a reception (engagement) video for us. It was perfect and really added to the reception. Thank you for your hard work!
