ately gave us the feeling that he could provide the vibe we wanted for our wedding. During the planning process, he was amazing! He regularly checked in with us and provided an entire worksheet that helped us organize our song selections and reception timeline. That worksheet was honestly such a huge help because it made us think about parts of our wedding that we hadn't even considered yet. He was extremely responsive and made us feel comfortable throughout the process. He mostly worked with my husband on the music since I am terrible at remembering song titles and artist names 😂, but he still made sure I felt comfortable communicating with him and that my preferences were heard. We were also able to provide a must-play and do-not-play list, which I really appreciated. And when it came to the music, he understood the assignment! 😂 We wanted different vibes throughout different parts of the day—classical R&B before the ceremony, elegant music during the ceremony, jazz and soft soul during cocktail hour, and then a mixture of African music, R&B, rap, oldies, and "hustle" songs for the reception. DJ Dabbs understood the vibe PERFECTLY. He kept the dance floor moving the entire night, read the crowd well, and had an incredible range of music. Our younger guests had a blast on the dance floor, while our older guests enjoyed watching them have a good time. There were no long periods of an empty dance floor, and the transitions between songs were great. I have to give a special shoutout to his lovely wife, who was our MC! She was absolutely amazing. She was clear, professional, energetic, and did such a wonderful job keeping everyone informed and engaged throughout the evening. From entrances and dances to the cake cutting and other activities, she kept everything moving beautifully. But there is ONE thing he did that I will never forget. He created a CUSTOM SONG for our private last dance. When I heard it for the first time, it literally brought me to tears. That was such a personal and thoughtful touch, and it made our last dance with each other even more special. My husband and I, our family, and our friends had such a great time. Our guests specifically complimented DJ Dabbs on his range of music and how much they enjoyed the entire night. We even had people telling us afterward, "Your DJ was GOOD!" As the bride, I was busy ALL night, so I didn't get to dance as much as I would have liked. But every moment I did get to dance and enjoy the music was so much fun. And knowing that DJ Dabbs had everything under control made it so much easier for me to actually enjoy my reception instead of worrying about what was happening next. Honestly, the entire night had me looking around thinking, "YES! This is exactly the party I wanted!"
