I did not end up having my wedding at the DMA because of the professionalism shown at our initial appointment. I made an appointment with Victoria Shepherd to walk through the DMA ...
as a potential vendor and she blew us off and never showed up. After waiting for 20 minutes, we walked out. Crazy thing is- I have another engaged friend who Victoria did the same exact thing to. We were not about to shell out thousands of dollars to someone who could not be bothered to do her job.
This was truly a dream come true! The atrium was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Loved it!
I loved our venue. We had about 230 people in the Atrium. However I wish I would have really thought about the little rules because it is a museum. I would have honestly still used...
the DMA, but been more prepared. For example there are absolutely no candles allowed in the museum, vendors can't get in until 5:00 p.m. and must strike that night (some extra fees), can't have a kids table (or even crayons for them to color), etc. It was beautiful and we loved it just some additional rules other venues wouldn't have. Monique was wonderful to work with and the food was spectacular!
The Hamon Atrium has beautiful Chihuly blown glass as the backdrop to the room. The ceilings are HIGH with a lot of white so there was so much you could do to it. The service the...
y provided was superb.;Security is tight so make sure your vendors and family members know. Try to work something out with the coordinator before the wedding day.

o side rooms for people who wanted to escape the music, and great restaurant-quality food by the museum's head chef!;When working with the museum, you are assigned an event coordinator. Our first one was awful, but we switched and the second one more than made up for everything - she was amazing. So stand up for yourself and make sure you're paired with someone good.
