the wedding he would submit our marriage license the following week. After waiting for the marriage license to come in the mail, it never came and we got a letter stating that it was never submitted. I contacted Rick multiple times after we found this out and most of the time I would see my messages read and did not get a response. When I actually did get one it was "The county is sending me paperwork and I'll let you know when I get it". This has been going on for months and he still has not fixed the problem. If you actually want an officiant who will be able to legally get you married, I would not suggest Rick. Unfortunately, he says he's been going through a lot of health issues, but after over 6 months of waiting and lack of communication, this behavior is unacceptable.

hed out about the script to see if it was ready and to make edits. He said it would be ready later that week, but we did not get a script until the day before the ceremony. We called several times to check in the week of but only one call was picked up where we did not get much of an update. Emails were also not responded to. The script itself did not capture the suggestions we had made previously, and we had provided readings to include which were not in the script. Rick notified us the morning of that he would not be able to make it due to his health issues. Thankfully we had a backup plan going into the ceremony. We were refunded slightly more than half of what we paid more than a month later and only after several call attempts. We felt very frustrated and stressed by the poor communication, effort it took to get responses for the script and the refund, and the last minute cancellation.

the big day, I reached out to schedule our in-person counseling session. He told me it would need to be a FaceTime. Not what we had agreed to, but I tried to be understanding. During the call, we made sure to mention how we wanted our ceremony to not be overly religious and also include readings from my family as well as personal details important to our relationship. I followed up with those requests in writing too, right after the call.  The week of the wedding comes and I am still requesting a draft script. Rick continued to ignore my calls, texts and emails before finally sending a script the day before the wedding. It was COMPLETELY different than what we asked for. Very religious, totally ignored the readings from my family and included zero personal details other than our names. I spent that entire day trying to call and text Rick to let him know we needed major changes. Again, he ignored me. Finally, ON THE MORNING OF OUR WEDDING I woke up to a text from him withdrawing as our officiant. No explanation, no apology.  Thankfully, I had a backup plan ready- but he has since ignored my messages about a full refund. All of this has led us to feel that Rick is a liar trying to scam couples in the best day of their lives- please steer clear!!!
