Want a Maine destination wedding on a budget you determine? Want to customize your own wedding venue?Sound unrealisticly? Well that may be true unless you have the will, the skill and the time to plan, design and implement your own "farm" venue plan. The Damariscotta River Association offers the removated Darrows Barn building and Round Top Farm grounds for your outdoor wedding and indoor reception consideration. The white farm house with vaulted tressle wood ceiling. a lighted stage and unfinished hard wood floor is yours to customize. It will comfortablly host 100 to 150 of your wedding guests, it has electrical outlets, folding table and chairs, a kitchen and bathroom facilities but the rest is up to your creativity, available time and budget. Building a plan for a late July unseasonably warm and muggy evening the 50 foot or more vaulted celiling helped but 4 powerful fans were a welcomed and needed supplement. It is up to you to decide on the decorations, the menu, the place settings, the lighting, the bar arrangements and the menu. You have the option of a complete "do it all yourself" venue or you can choose all the vendors needed to make your special day a very unque and budget friendly experience. Not for the faint of heart but a worthy consideration.
