Dana is AMAZING! She made our engagement shoot and wedding day so perfect by putting us at ease throughout the process. She listened to everything we wanted and made sure to capture the most memorable moments of our wedding. She is always quick to respond to emails and made sure that the package we purchased met our needs perfectly. She is the sweetest and most professional photographer I have ever worked with.

My husband and I highly recommend Dana! She was such a treat to work with, and so naturally captured the beautiful scenes and emotions on our special day. Dana is by far the BEST in the business!!! We instantly loved how organized, experienced, professional, and kind she was from the first time we met! She did our engagement pictures which were phenomenal - and we couldn't wait until we did our wedding photos! They were absolutely perfect!! Let me begin with the fact that she is by FAR the most amazing photographer-ever! When I married my husband, neither he nor I had ever been professionally photographed until our wedding day..... we did not do engagement pictures, had never had any family photos done...nothing! Dana worked with us so wonderfully through the entire process and allowed us to completely reflect on our day- and oh my goodness did she produce our beginning! She worked with us and helped us with our timeline, our picture coordination, and she worked with our videographers as if they were all one team! Our images returned to us in an extraordinairely timely manner and completely blew us away by how beautifully she was able to capture our wedding. Dana is incredibly genuine, easy to work with and delivers quality work... quickly! I had such a wonderful experience working with Dana. She has a very easy process when it comes to contracts, questions, receiving pictures, downloading/purchasing pictures, etc. She is experienced, adorable, hard working and works well with other vendors. The most impressive part? Well, besides the pictures themselves... She mailed me a custom "Dana Goodson Photography" wooden + magnetic USB port with all of my high resolution pictures for us to keep. She knew going into the wedding that my husband and I weren't into the "cheesy" pictures. She managed to capture incredibly beautiful pictures without us feeling awkward whatsoever. Also, my mom used to be a wedding photographer years ago and [as you can imagine] my wedding pictures were important to the both of us. Dana did a phenomenal job and my mom totally approves! I highly recommend for anybody in the St. Augustine/Jacksonville/Amelia Island area!

I really wanted to like Dana! I very, very carefully researched local photographers for a Jacksonville wedding. I was planning from out of town at the time, so I had to rely heavily on reviews/photographers' websites. I loved Dana's work on her site, so with the great reviews I felt as though I could trust her to take great photos for our day. She did not see our Jacksonville wedding venue before the wedding day, which I assumed would be fine, assuming she would bring the tools and know-how to make it work wherever she was. I assumed wrong! Dana seemed fine and pleasant enough (though one additional gripe I have is that she waited until several DAYS before the wedding to call me on the phone to ask about some details - why that couldn't have happened sooner, I don't know, but we had to talk to her on the car on speaker phone running from place to place because it was such a busy time). However, I was pretty surprised at the quality of the photos we had done. They were entirely indoors, which could have been part of it (maybe she's more used to or trained in doing outdoor?!), but every single family/wedding party photo that we took in the synagogue sanctuary in front of the chuppah has awful lighting - it's as though she didn't know what equipment she would need, or didn't know what to use, or what - I have no idea, but correct lighting seems like it should be photography 101. In addition, I was unpleasantly surprised by how she laid out some of the photos, and also, the aisle that was holding our ketubah was standing in the background of some photos when anyone with an artistic eye should have known to remove it. It's possible she was flustered and didn't know or understand the space well enough, but unfortunately for us, all of those photos of the family and wedding party in front of the chuppah mostly suck. The rest of the photos were overall just ok, there's really only a handful of shots that I think are great, which is unfortunately. Finally, I had appreciated that Dana had a section on her website dedicated to photographs of "the details," which was important to me because I planned and designed the wedding myself. However, there were several important details from the day that just weren't photographed - for example, I had carefully set out a guestbook table with old family wedding photos, and she simply did not take any pictures of that (?!), and I had made a gorgeous and intricate welcome sign decorated with fresh flowers, that she took no pictures of. It just seemed like strange creative choices not to capture some of those things. I wanted to be able to love Dana, but unfortunately, given the work product that we ended up with in terms of the quality of our wedding photos, I can't recommend.

Choosing a photographer is perhaps one of the most important decisions of the wedding planning process. Once I reviewed Dana's portfolio and spoke with her, I knew she was the photographer for me. Her photos are absolutely gorgeous and timeless. I did not want trendy photos, but photos I would love in 50 years, and Dana blew my expectations out of the water. She has a talent for lighting- each photo captures the light beautifully and she seemed to get every moment of the wedding day. We got married during the Nights of Lights in St. Augustine so we wanted some nighttime photos- and WOW! Not many people can create a beautiful photo shoot at night, but Dana certainly did. Aside from her talent, Dana is so sweet and personable- a true pleasure to work with (and that's very important when you are spending 10+hours with a person). Thank you for everything, Dana! We will treasure these photos and memories!

Finding Dana Goodson to photograph our wedding was such a Blessing. I knew from the first time meeting Dana that I wanted her to be our wedding photographer. When I found out that she had our date available I was thrilled!! We first had the pleasure working with Dana to do our engagement photos and after seeing how great they turned out (and might I mention it was a rainy, overcast day) we could not wait to see what special moments she would be able to capture on our big day. They say if it rains on your wedding day it means good luck, which it did but that did not stop Dana from capturing the most amazing photos we could have ever imagined. Dana is so talented and truly has a passion for what she does..it shows in ever photo. Dana was so wonderful to work with and we would highly recommend. Thanks Dana for capturing moments from a day we will never forget but always be able to look back on!!!

We were so happy to have Dana as the photographer for our wedding, especially on New Year's Eve. Our wedding was at night and we wanted a photographer who really knew what they were doing because not everyone can capture a nighttime event. Dana was very professional and people remarked that it seemed like she was everywhere all night. The photos turned out so magical and capture every bit of wonder and happiness we experienced on the most important of days. I will say one thing, Dana does not do any photoshopping at all, which is why this is not a straight five star review. Fortunately, my husband has some photoshop skills and was able to remove her assistant and lights/cords, etc. out of some of the photos. I just felt the service should have included the thoughtful removal of those obvious obstructions at the price paid. That is the only complaint, however, on an otherwise overwhelmingly positive experience with a very talented photographer.

Worth every penny! My wedding and engagement photos are more than I ever imagined! I'm so thankful to have such beautiful keepsakes of our special day. Our wedding album is AMAZING. We have received so many compliments on our photos! Dana was a joy to work with and really felt like a friend, rather than a vendor, at our wedding. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Dana was a joy to work with. She and her assistant worked hard to make sure all the shots that we wanted were captured and always maintained a kind and professional attitude even when I got a little grumpy from being hot and tired! Dana ensured that she captured all the details of the wedding as I expressed this was important because I worked so hard on the small details as I did not have a wedding planner or day of coordinator. While we have not yet received our photos from our wedding as it is too soon, we know everything she does will be beautiful because our engagement pictures came out wonderfully! If you are looking for crazy trendy photo tricks Dana will not be right for you BUT if you are looking for someone that will take photos that will stand the test of time then Dana will be perfect for you as she is a very classic photographer that lets the beauty of the day and the way she captures the shot speak for itself. Dana communicates well with you to ensure you and her will be on the same page and she is such a people person!

If you are planning your wedding, everyone will always give you the same advice- get a good photographer and don't sweat the small stuff. I can't say I was very good at the latter, but I was dead set on getting a good photographer. I booked Dana before I had even settled on a venue, and I couldn't be happier that I did. She is so talented, responsive, friendly, and willing to work with you to get unique shots. I am definitely not a natural when it comes to being comfortable in front of the camera, but Dana's photography skills made it look like modeling was my side-job. Our engagement and wedding photos are breathtakingly beautiful. So, get a good photographer- go with Dana!!!

Dana is an amazing photographer. Her pictures are incredibly clear and she captured every single moment of our wedding. At first I was sad we didn't have a videographer but when I saw the pictures she had taken I didn't need a video at all. She captured the emotion of the moments so well too. Some of the pictures still make me teary eyed when I look at them. And she was so much fun to work with. She blended well and she made it so fun. I would highly highly recommend her.

Dana was the best photographer I could ask for. She was so easy to work with and made everyone feel completely comfortable. Not to mention the pictures were outstanding. Each one had outstanding quality and she has a great eye. We used her for our engagement shoot, bridal portraits and the wedding. The engagement shoot was a great way for us to get used to being in front of the camera. She made it very easy. She chose a beautiful location for the bridal portraits and they turned out great. We could not have asked for better wedding pictures. It ended up raining and she was still able to take great portraits. She captured so many beautiful, memorable moments. Dana was the perfect photographer for Adam and I. Our engagement pictures turned out amazing so we knew she would do a great job at the wedding. She did a great job working with what she had to work with as our space was limited for pictures due to rain.

I am a picky person, I will admit. I looked at a lot of photographers for our wedding. I saw the good and the bad, and then I saw the excellent -- Dana Goodson! Her photography is more like art than just pictures. From our engagement shoot to our wedding day photos, she managed to capture our personalities and our relationship in ways I could have never expected from a photographer. She also was a genuinely nice, congenial, fun person who was able to bring my wife and I out of our shells during the shoots. On the day of the wedding, I could not be happier that it was Dana taking our photos. She was organized (effortlessly), patient, and let us enjoy our moments as she captured them. Dana is not that wedding photographer who is in the way of everything, pushing people around and slowing up the flow of your event. At our ceremony and reception, I hardly noticed she was there but somehow this magician captured some great shots that we will cherish forever. Dana Goodson is truly amazing! My husband was very helpful in the wedding planning process, and his one wish was to have the best photographer we could find. Photography was most important to him, so we took a lot of time making our decision. We browsed countless websites, blogs, and friends' photo albums. We came across Dana's blog and fell in love. Once our wedding planner recommended her without our prompting we knew we had chose the right one! Dana is so easy to work with, always responds in a timely manner, and truly gets to know you as a couple as much as possible before your big day. She even came to us for our engagement shoot and spent hours with us in several locations. By the time our wedding came around, I felt like Dana was my friend AND photographer which really helped put me at ease. Everytime someone asked who our photographer was and we responded happily "Dana Goodson"! , undoubtedly the response was a few "oooh's and aaah's" with an "I LOVE her work". On the day of the wedding, Dana was awesome. She was there to capture special moments, yet not intrusive. Many guests have complimented our sneak peek photos and our engagement shots. Dana was amazing! We had no power for pretty much the entire wedding due to a blown transformer at the venue, making it very dark. Dana was unbelievable prepared with extra lights, and the pictures turned out so well. She was so kind and friendly, and made everyone feel comfortable. The pictures are stunning, and we will cherish them forever!

If you are looking for a wedding photographer in northeast Florida, you would be out of your mind not to meet with Dana Goodson. As a bride, you don't necessarily get to see those "moments" or "detail" on the day of because you are so busy with other things. Dana could not have done a better job capturing the days events, those special moments and the detail that I worked so hard to perfect throughout the planning process.
