Dance Factory

We took 6 dance lessons with Maria for our first dance at our wedding. We are not dancers - just not naturally coordinated or talented - but Maria made us feel so comfortable and confident. Our first dance was incredible and will remain one of our favorite memories for a lifetime. All of our guests were so shocked by the dance and our skills! It was a wonderful experience. We have even decided we’d like to go back to see Maria for more dance lessons as a couples date night to continue the fun! Absolutely recommend the studio and especially Maria.

We took 5 dance classes prior to our wedding with Maria and it was the best decision we could have made. We had fun and felt confident leading up to our first dance. It was so enjoyable that we wish to take further dance classes post wedding just to learn more and have date nights. We couldn't recommend Maria more.

We took 5 lessons with Maria for our first dance. It was an absolute joy. Maria was patient, professional and knowledgeable. One of the best experiences of our pre-wedding activities and made me and my husband want to continue to take dance lessons! Couldn't recommend enough.

My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Maria for our first dance, and it was a wonderful experience! We took 5 lessons over the 3 months leading up to our wedding and by the end we were totally confident and excited about our dance performance. The lessons were probably the most enjoyable part of the whole wedding planning process for us. Maria started us with basic steps and worked up to dips, spins, promenades and more by progressively building upon each lesson. Her instructions were easy to follow, and her overall manner of teaching was laid back, encouraging and honest. Would highly recommend working with her!

My husband and I worked with Maria for our first dance, and we had a wonderful experience! Maria gave us three in-person lessons and two online lessons while we traveled for our wedding and every lesson was so helpful and a fun activity to do together. We ended up feeling so comfortable and confident in our routine and have a basic step that we can use anytime we’d like! We really loved working with Maria and are looking forward to future lessons with Maria and Dance Factory!

Highly recommend Dance Factory! We are so glad we took lessons before our wedding. We were assigned Maria as our dance instructor, and after 5 lessons we felt so much more confident on the dance floor. She helped us figure out how to fit dips and spins into our first dance. Not only did our first dance go flawlessly, but not we have the skills to impress our friends on the dance floor at future events.

Dance Factory was amazing to work with! From the initial message with the owner to showing up to our lessons, everyone we met at Dance Factory was warm, friendly, and an expert at making dancing feel easy. All of our instructors were extremely patient and very talented, taking as much time as we needed to go over and practice different dance moves. Maria was an especially awesome instructor we enjoyed working with! One thing that speaks volumes about Dance Factory is how they went above and beyond with us during COVID. We had to postpone our wedding shortly after we had just taken our first of 3 dance lessons. Even though it wasn't until a year later that we reached out about the remaining 2 lessons, Dennis quickly got us scheduled for 3 lessons at no additional cost or delay!!!

We would have been absolutely lost without Maria, and instead we had a first dance that brought down the house :) Dance Factory's 5-class package was absolutely the right decision and such a great value. We met with Maria once a month before our wedding, and the lessons made all the difference. We felt confident (and competent!) for our big moment, and it was perfect. Thank you!!!!!!!

Michael was a great instructor! We appreciate the accelerated dance lessons for our first dance. The five sessions was perfect and people loved seeing the routine at the wedding! Would highly recommend for beginners looking to learn a few cute moves!

My Fiancee and I were in such a challenging situation trying to plan our entire wedding in an entire week. We are both military and live in Japan and dance lessons were hard for us to come by. In less that 24 hours the Dance Factory was able to squeeze us in for 3 dance lessons within the week. We learned a beautiful dance that is easy for beginners!!! It was such a pleasant experience having a team that was so accommodating to us. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

We had a wonderful experience working with Michael! He was positive, encouraging, and patient, while making sure that we were truly learning the dance. We scheduled two lessons to practice for our first dance. My fiancé and I had no prior dancing experience, so we simply wanted to look a little bit more put together on the dance floor. Michael made sure we accomplished this goal, and he even went the extra mile to teach us some impressive steps. We also found the lessons to be a fun break from other wedding planning. Whether you are looking just to polish your skills or do something more choreographer, highly recommend!

My husband and I knew that we needed dance lessons prior to our 9/29 wedding but we had no idea where to begin. Thankfully we found Dance Factory. They were SO easy to work with and very affordable. We started off with a 5 pack and met our instructor Maria. She made us feel SO comfortable and helped us so much. When we first started lessons, we were barely able to do a basic step and by the end we knew 5 different types of turns and had a beautiful first dance for our wedding. We looked forward to going to our dance lessons in the months leading up to our wedding and adored working with Maria. We felt SO good on our wedding night doing our dance, and now looking back on the moment and the pictures and video, I am SO glad we took the time to take lessons. Our crowd loved it and it was such a nice way to kick off our reception. I'd highly recommend Dance Studio, and specifically Maria, for any brides and grooms that need some help for their big day!

Dennis is a fantastic instructor who put together the perfect dance routine for our wedding. We had very little time to practice, but Dennis was very accommodating of our schedule and made sure that we were prepared for our big day with an interesting but simple dance. I highly recommend Dance Factory!

Maria is an awesome instructor! We had so much fun doing our three dance lessons with her this summer! We got compliments on our first dance at our wedding, thanks to the routine she taught us! The wedding package is a great deal and a really fun activity to do with your fiancé! We highly recommend working with Maria at the dance factory - she’s great!

Wonderful experience. Maria B was an excellent teacher. My fiance and I had never taken dance lessons before and felt like a million bucks after just the first lesson, and we still had two more! A ton of fun!

Hands down, fantastic studio to go to for learning a first dance for your wedding. My fiance and I did three lessons with Maria, who was very patient and encouraging with our novice dancing skills. We did not have a clue what we would do for our first dance and Maria made us feel confident after our three 45 minute sessions. Cannot recommend her enough!

My husband and I were so happy to have had dance lessons through Dance Factory. Maria was our teacher. Our only regret is that we did not sign up for more dance lessons!!! Maria is thoughtful, professional, warm, flexible - she'll help you and your partner reach your dancing potential. :) My husband and I felt confident on our wedding dance floor. Great studio. Maria was so patient and personable. Not only did she teach me and my fiance our first dance, but she also worked with my dad and I for our dance, as well as my parents for their dance! We all really enjoyed her.

We got the 3-lesson wedding dance package, and met with Maria at Dance Factory's temporary Arlington Space at the Lyon Village Community House for our lessons. We only ended up doing 2 of our lessons -- I think there was a double-booking for the hall at the Lyon Village Community House or something, not Dance Factory's fault -- but we were very happy with the result. (And we got a prompt refund for the 3rd class at the package rate, which we appreciated.)

We chose a 1980s song for our first dance, and had an exceptional experience with Maria! We have virtually no dance experience, and are feeling very confident for our upcoming ceremony. Thanks so much!!!

Maria was wonderful! We felt very comfortable with her instantly and she was very patient with us and very responsive. Our first dance turned out great and we were confident with the moves we learned. For private lessons we felt like there was great value for the money. My only complaint would be that the settings were not ideal. In Arlington, a large dance class was assembling towards the tail end of our lesson and in Alexandria, there were multiple other group dance classes going on that made it distracting for us to learn.

When I contacted Dance Factory about a couple personal dance lessons for my wedding, they were very prompt in responding and were very friendly. We really liked our instructor Maria, and after just a couple of lessons we had a dance we really liked.

We had a great experience with Dance Factory, getting ready for our first dance for our wedding. It was a hard time deciding on which company to choose - there are quite a few in the DC metro area. This ended up having good reviews, was responsive to our emails, and the price for a 5-class wedding package is one of the cheaper ones around. Also, we first saw them when they were offering a free wedding class - but the class was full. We emailed and the owner set up a free private class for us instead! Our assigned instructor, Jennifer, was really quite good - demonstrated first, then had us perform the step once slowly on our own without the music (still following her), slowly together without music and then finally to the song itself. She observed us and gave us tips on areas for improvement. Oh - and just to be clear, neither of us are expert dancers. I've had a few classes several years ago and enjoy dancing - while my new husband was pretty much starting from the basics. At the end of the package, we felt relaxed and comfortable with our dance for the night. Our instructor even showed a few "fun" dance steps for the rest of the evening. Super basic stuff, but we ended up using one of them! Our first dance couldn't have gone better - we were able to just relax and enjoy the moment, not stress out about getting the steps right. We didn't make a single mistake, and it was perfect! The only reason I've deducted a star (and would prefer deducting only 1/2 a star but that's not an option here), was because of a scheduling issue for one of our classes. There was some mix up, which was ultimately resolved, but it could have been prevented. However, our instructor was very apologetic about it, and we were still able to have our class with her. Thank you Jennifer and Dance Factory for making our first dance go so smoothly! Once we get more settled in after our wedding, we're thinking of going back for some more lessons - never hurts to learn more moves or improve your current ones!

We started by attending the free wedding dance session (yes, free!) that they offered and then bought a package of 5 lessons for about $340. Daria was our instructor and she was amazing! We danced to Michael Buble's Everything, and she choreographed the most amazing dance. Our guests loved it, and more importantly, we LOVED it! The lessons were a ton of fun, great bonding time, and it made for an unforgettable moment on wedding day :)

We had been to the Dance Factory before to take Salsa lessons, so we decided to come back for our wedding dance. We were placed with James, who happened to also be our previous salsa teacher! James listened to our wedding song once, told us it was a tricky Viennese Waltz, and put us to work. James was friendly, explained everything well and multiple times, if needed, and even paid attention to details like my shoes and dress volume. He choreographed a complex dance that used the whole floor space and threw in a bunch of tricks. We were nervous, but executing it well was one of the most exhilarating moments! We will never forget that feeling. We will definitely be going back to take more lessons with James.

Originally, we thought we'd never do dance lessons, but because our first dance song's awkward tempo, we decided to give it a try. We actually had fun. Daria is a total pro, completely flexible and was able to spot our issues and help us fix them. We actually looked forward to our lessons with her and in the end we danced without thinking and enjoyed the moment.

We chose a 1940's era song for our first dance, so felt like we 'had to' have a unique dance to go with it. We signed up for the 5 lesson wedding package, and ended up adding a 6th lesson (because of us being pretty hopeless and not having enough time to practice in between the first 5 lessons). Dmitri was friendly, patient, and helpful, and our guests were surprised and excited about our dance. Definitely worth fitting into your budget!

My fiance and I needed major help before our wedding night. Dmitri not only choreographed and helped us learn our first dance, he also gave us some basic dances to get us through the entire night without any problem. He's super laid back and a joy to work with... we want to go back for more lessons once we pay off the wedding! :-)

Yulia was able to teach 2 people with 2 left feet how to dance. We had a fun upbeat spirit song, and she was able to spend time and work with us, with our personalities and ability to create a great dance for our first dance. The movements she taught us we will remember and have already performed these dance moves at other parties. Truly a great experience.

Mike from Dance Factory was helping us to prepare our wedding dance. He was great to work with. The dance turned out great. Our guests loved it. Many of them were touched to tears. In only five classes we got a beautiful dance with Mike's help.

We decided to take dance lessons before our wedding because, though my husband is quite the dancer, I am not. Mike at Dance Factory choreographed our first dance, but he also had innumerable valuable tips about our entrance and the small things to remember that would greatly improve our photos. I'm not sure we did justice to what he taught us, but we had a great time!

Neither I nor my fiancee were dancers, but they assessed our skills immediately and created a wedding dance that made us look like professionals. We were so happy with the outcome.

We went to Dance Factory for private lessons for our first dance and they were amazing! Sam was our teacher and he was so patient with my husband who had never danced before. He customized our dance to our abilities and what we wanted and it came out great. It was such a huge surprise for everyone when we busted out with this amazing routine, people were screaming and cheering. It was one of the greatest moments of our wedding thanks to Sam!
