About this vendor
Nervous about your first dance with all eyes upon you? We can help!!
I will make sure you feel confident and excited about getting on the dance floor! You will learn how to connect with each other, work together as a team, and have fun while doing it.
With your input, I will choreograph a one-of-a-kind dance number that perfectly suits your personalities, abilities and practice time constraints.
Unless you’d rather have the whole thing entirely choreographed. I can do that too! This takes longer, so book now!
Additional services include private dance lessons for you and your parents (or whoever you want to have a special dance moment with) to ensure everyone is comfortable on the big day.
All dance lessons take place in my lovely private backyard studio in Oakland, Ca. (As seen in the jumping photo.) We have the whole space and music to ourselves.
I love dancing, teaching and working with the queer community.

I can’t recommend Citabria enough! She met with my fiancé and I all throughout the summer to craft a customized dance routine, all the while building our skills, our confidence, an...
d our connection with one another. She also worked with my stepdaughter and my father, helping them come out of their shells and learn to have fun on the dance floor. Citabria is kind, very professional, and a great dancer herself. She is a super positive teacher who makes you feel comfortable as soon as you walk into her beautiful studio space. I would give her 10/5 if I could– this is the best dance instructor you will ever find to prepare you for your wedding!
We worked closely with Citabria for the five weeks leading up to our wedding. She helped us create custom dance choreography for our first dance, gave valuable feedback and was ver...
y helpful throughout the process. On our wedding day we felt so confident knowing that all of our practice had paid off! Would highly recommend!
Our wedding dance instructor was an absolute star! Not only did she bring a level of professionalism that truly set her apart, but her commitment to our progress was outstanding. A...
fter each session, she would type out and send us the entire routine, including any changes or adjustments, making practice at home a breeze.
Her thoughtful approach extended to recording videos of our sessions with our own phones. This not only allowed us to revisit the steps but also provided a valuable visual tool for repetition and improvement. It's these extra touches that made the entire learning process incredibly effective and enjoyable.
Her private studio, with its clean and bright ambiance, served as the perfect setting for our lessons. We cannot thank her enough for the expertise, patience, and personal attention she brought to every session.
Our wedding dance was a hit, and we owe it all to her dedication and skill. If you're in search of a dance instructor who goes the extra mile, she's the one!
Highly, highly recommended!
As someone with no dance experience whatsoever - I can’t recommend Citabria enough. My wife and I were married in June 2023 and wanted to learn a few simple moves for our first da...
nce, so that we didn’t look like we had no clue what we were doing on our wedding day. Citabria was the perfect coach to help us figure things out. We had three sessions with her in her beautiful backyard studio in Oakland. We came to her with a song in mind and she immediately started figuring out what made sense and guiding us through how to do the moves she was teaching us. She is an incredible dancer in her own right and would also step in to play the part as bride or groom to help the other one figure things out. Our first dance ended up being a hit and my wife and I really enjoyed it so much more because we felt confident and knew what we were doing. Thanks again so much Citabria! I can’t recommend her enough to any couple looking to hone their dancing skills for their big day.
We were planning our wedding on short notice and Citabria really came through for us. I'm not a very confident dancer and dancing has always made me feel self-conscious, but Citabr...
ia was able to cut through all of that. The classes we took with her ended up being some of the most fun that my partner and I had in the whole planning process. She has a very calm presence and works with you to put together something that you'll have fun with. And when it came to the big event, the dance went really well! We even fooled a few people into thinking that I know how to dance. Well done, Citabria.
Citabria was a star instructor! We took a series of five private dance lessons with Citabria at her Oakland studio. She helped two novices understand the dance steps and possible c...
ombinations for our first dance song in a clear and comfortable fashion. Her notes during each lesson were extremely useful for completing our dance in front of friends and family, based on her extensive experience competing and performing.
Citabria's ability to switch between lead and follow gave both of us the ability to practice feeling what the movements should feel like and to improve our physical communication effectively. Even now that our wedding is over, we still enjoy practicing the steps she taught us around our home because it feels easy and fun!
My partner and I worked with Citabria to prepare our first dance for our wedding. Citabria was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. She has a fabulous dance space and we w...
ere so lucky that it was in close proximity to our home. We came in unsure of what dance style we wanted and, while I had done some partner dancing, my fiance had not. Citabria helped us choose a dance style and a song. She was open to whether we wanted to dance more freestyle to the song (after learning moves within the style) or have a more concrete idea of what moves we would do and in what order (we chose the latter bc that's what we felt most comfortable with). Even though neither of us are high level dancers, Citabria helped us refine our moves, making our dance look natural and fun-to-watch. We really appreciated Citabria's supportive, easy-going nature, her consistency and her availability lining up with ours. We are an LGBTQ couple and we felt so comfortable working with Citabria!
