Custom Jewelry Design
D&H Jewelers is a design house that revels in the opportunity to blend these old-world techniques with modern technologies. Our design team has created hundreds of custom jewelry pieces, collaborating with our clients through each stage of the project from conception to delivery. The meaningful process of creating one’s custom engagement ring, wedding band, or personal treasured item, is our specialty and something we delight in.
The custom jewelry design process starts with a one-on-one design consultation with our jewelry experts, after which, we hand-select the perfect conflict free gemstones and recycled metals for each tailor-made project. We work with:
-GIA certified diamonds, including Botswana and Canadian origins
-Up-cycled diamonds, including vintage and antique Old Mine Cut and European Cut diamonds with third party SCS Global ethical origin certification
-Sapphires and colored stones from American and small artisan mines with clear chains of custody and Fair Trade certification
-Rose-cut, unique shaped, and fancy colored diamonds
After the materials are chosen, the custom jewelry creation starts to take life through a process of sketching, wax modeling, and Computer Aided Design (CAD). We encourage client feedback at this stage, and once the design is finalized, each piece is individually hand-crafted by our team of jewelers.
We offer additional specialty design services such as resetting/redesigning your existing gemstones and jewelry. All D&H custom-made jewelry includes a complimentary appraisal for insurance purposes.

We visited the store the day before Shelter-in-Place order in California and found some really nice wedding bands and rings we liked. Lauren was very knowledgeable and keen on show...
ing us the styles we preferred. The fact that they were sustainable and ethically sourced were important to us. The complementary wine made for a great shopping experience too :). There was a particular ring that my fiancé really liked and I wanted to give as a surprise. I was very impressed with Lauren's memory and prompt responses when I emailed her. Even after some time had passed, Lauren remembered his ring size and customization that he preferred. She connected us with the chief designer Shawn, who even sent a picture of it after he created it. He was very knowledgeable about the ring and the minerals in the meteorite that was from Namibia. We are very happy with the ring and the experience we had with D&H team. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for unique designs and great customer service.
Shawn and the D&H Jewelers' team have been helping me with the perfect piece of jewelry for almost a decade. Shawn helped my wife and I design and create her engagement ring, he cr...
eated my wedding band from a piece of my mother's jewelry, and ten years later is helping my wife and I create an anniversary ring. D&H have helped repair family heirlooms, find the perfect necklace for my perfect person, and always been a trusted referral for any of my close family and friends. D&H has provided me with incredible services and extensive knowledge, while always making me feel listened to and never pressured. We also love that they care about issues of sustainability, conflict free and social justice within the jewelry industry. If you want a piece of jewelry that is unique, special, and stunning with service that feels like you are visiting family, D&H is the PLACE!

end's recommendation, and over the course of several visits turned my fiance's idea into a stunning ring. D&H was phenomenal when it came to resizing and making modifications to the ring to ensure it was absolutely perfect.
I wasn't sure how we could come up with a wedding band that would complement my unique engagement ring, but Shawn knocked it out of the park. We went in with a basic idea and he took it and modified it to work with my ring. He came up with several different designs and was even able to combine the CAD drawing with that of my engagement ring so we could see how the rings would work together.
If you're looking for unique, high quality rings that are conflict-free and ethically sourced, there is no place better than D&H!
I had a great experience at D&H Jewelers. I found both my fiancee's engagement rings and my own wedding band here. They are amazing rings! The jewelery pieces are locally handma...
de and unique relative to most ring-stores downtown.
Audra was the main person at D&H who helped me and my wife find our rings and she was amazing to work with. The other employees were also very helpful and seemed to work very well together as a team who's primary goal was to make us both happy customers. I also bought a necklace there which was another beautiful piece. After the year-long experience with D&H finding engagement rings and wedding bands, i would fully recommend you check them out.

ons. The rings are beautiful, and they can basically make any type of ring you want - you are limited only by your imagination (and possibly budget). They have options at many price points.
My Fiancé found D&H after reading many reviews online when researching the best store suitable for us. We live in the Castro which makes it even more convenient! We liked the fac...
t that D&H are a sustainable jewelry house selling only Canadian and conflict-free diamonds. This matters to us. We first met with Audra and I liked her straight away. Her approach and knowledge is outstanding – she definitely knows her stuff!
I wanted to slightly redesign my engagement ring and we worked together in keeping the original style, but changing the ring from gold to white gold. We were informed that the ring would be designed by someone called “Dragon”, how cool is that when people ask?!
When the ring came back from Dragon I was extremely happy with the change, it was exactly what I was looking for. We have even bought our wedding bands here as we were so impressed with the service and the friendliness of everyone who works at D&H.
They also have a wine bar at the back of the store which is amazing, how many jewelry stores have you been to where they have a bar? I cannot praise this store and Audra enough.

ping him articulate his vision and then making it happen (of course it turned out beautifully!). A few months later, we went back to pick out wedding bands. My husband's is an amazing damascus steel ring with gold interior and edges. For mine, I was able to work with Audra at D&H to design a band to fit with my engagement ring. I had some heirloom jewelry (a gold band from my great-great grandmother and a diamond engagement ring/wedding band set from my grandmother) and had them melted down and taken apart to create a new ring. I love knowing that both my rings are completely unique and so personal and special to me!
From start to finish, we had a great experience with D&H. Everyone who works there is so sweet and friendly, SO knowledgable about what they do, and totally willing to work with whatever budget you may have. Plus they have a wine bar in the store...could it get any better?!
D&H is a small store, but Shawn and his staff have a selection of beautiful and unique designs. It also doesn't hurt that they are super nice and have a wine bar in the back! I was...
able to email a photo of a design, that was used to engrave my wedding band, making it extra meaningful and personal. And the sustainable practices they use make it a guilt-free experience!

as holding in my hands, desperately hoping there was something we could do so I didn't need to forever stare down at this eternity band I didn't care for.
Busy with another customer, Audra graciously greeted us and invited us to browse or sit and enjoy a glass of wine at their beautiful wooden wine bar. Nearly in tears after all the frustrating communication regarding this ring, a glass of wine was just what we needed.
Once we were able to sit down with Audra she alleviated all our concerns, encouraging us to return the ring to the store we had purchased it from (especially after being told "women like rings like that these days" when I told them it was not what I had asked for). Then she listened very intently to exactly what I was attempting to describe as well as what my fiance was hoping for with his band. It was amazing how easily she translated my awkward description into the exact ring I imagined in my head.
We picked up our rings a few weeks ago and could not have been happier. Under budget, absolutely stunning, responsibly sourced and personalized we are both ecstatic to be wearing pieces from D&H everyday for the rest of our lives.
I don't spend too much money on jewelry, but this will be where I come whenever I have something special that needs particular attention and detailed craft.
