had availability for both. Based on that understanding and her portfolio, we signed a contract for photography coverage with her. After booking, she personally photographed our engagement session, and the images were beautiful. That experience reinforced our confidence that we had chosen the right person to capture our wedding day. However, less than a week before our wedding, we were informed that she had double-booked herself. Not only had she committed to another wedding on the same date, but she had booked herself to provide both photo and video services for that other client — the very combination of services we had originally inquired about. As a result, we were told she would not be personally photographing our wedding and that a second shooter would be sent in her place instead. This was not what we agreed to when we hired her, nor what was represented to us through our engagement session and prior communications. With only days’ notice, finding a comparable photographer with similar style and availability was extremely difficult and significantly more expensive. Wedding photography is not something that can be redone, and the photographer you choose is a deeply personal decision. While we understand that scheduling conflicts can occur, double-booking after confirming availability and entering into a signed agreement created unnecessary stress during an already emotional week. We believe couples deserve transparency, reliability, and follow-through when trusting someone with such an important milestone. We encourage future clients to clearly confirm — in writing — who will personally be photographing their wedding and what safeguards are in place to prevent double-booking situations.
