We were married in October and hosted our luncheon at Daniel. We've been in love with this restaurant for a long time, but became even more in love through working with them for our wedding. Their coordinator, Ehren, was absolutely wonderful. She was warm, flexible and very clear. Daniel what could have been a diastrous wedding into a magical one. When our escort cards arrived with errors from the printer and could not be re-printed in time, the restaurant was able to print new ones for us. When our wedding was delayed by over and hour and a half, we called Ehren to let know know everything would need to be truncated. Knowing that we could count on the staff to handle this with grace and make the lost time seem as if it was not missing at all made the day so much better. The space was beautiful, the food was ethereal and the service was impeccable. Our guests were bowled over and felt as pampered as we had hoped they would. From the cocktail hours through the dessert course, each moment was more wonderful than the last. They were even made a perfect croquembouche that guests have been raving about even two months later! Could not recommend more highly!
We were married and had a dinner for about 100 people in the private room at Daniel - the food was excellent and the service was absolutely flawless. I highly recommend it and wouldn't think twice about making the same choice if we could have our wedding all over again.
My husband and I started our marriage last April with a reception at Daniel for 35 guests. We choose the venue because eating the food there is the best experience of your life (besides falling in love). We knew from the planning with Joan Chaing that they would make the night special for us and our guests, but we never imagined that anything could be so fabulous.
We entered the private room before our guests arrived and were greeted by a large professional staff who brought us champagne immediately. Our guests were welcomed into an elegant room with a relaxed atmosphere and delicious hot and cold appetizers circulating.
Once we were seated everyone read over menus personalized with our names and wedding date depicting the dining experience they had in front of them. My husband and I chose a fish course and the duo of beef, which was a favorite that night. The meal had the feel of eating at home with your family, but with a first class chef.
The waitstaff were magicians. I never noticed them around me, but my wine glass was always full and there was never an empty plate in front of me.
It was the perfect evening, but then an unexpected gift arrived. Chef Boulud, himself, came up to greet us with warm congratulations. We love the picture of us in our wedding duds with our favorite chef in front of his beautiful kitchen.
The icing on the cake was, literally, the icing on the cake. We sent the pastry chef a picture of a gorgeous cake that we saw in a bakery window in Las Vegas. They made it look exactly like the orchid themed cake we requested. Even a year later when we unfroze the top section it tasted like raspberry, chocolate heaven.
If you want to feel like a princess on your wedding day, Daniel is the place to be. It was really fun, relaxed, and not stuffy. I meet with a lot of different upscale restaurants that charged the same as Daniel, but were not of the same callibor. One event planner, at a certain speakeasy, even made me cry. Once we choose Daniel everything became effortless to plan. I give this venue my highest reccomendation.
