Due to COVID - 19 we had to cancel our wedding in San Diego and were left scrambling to find what we could do to try and have it on the same day as planned. Originally, I reached out to Danny Dong when we were shopping for a photographer and I was sad to hear he was booked on the day we needed. Although, I let him know he was our first choice and if anything changed to please let us know. He called me right in time and let me know he had a cancellation that day and was able to shoot our wedding! This was our first time having professional photos done and they made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Danny and Julia were so patient and accommodating especially with me being a late bride and needing to extend our time. Our pictures came out more beautiful than I could have ever hoped for! Thank you Danny and Julia for making our wedding day so special and creating gorgeous, lasting memories that we will be able to share and view for years to come.

After securing Danny for his services, and particularly after notifying him of having to cancel our December 2020 wedding, he became evasive, taking weeks and even months to respond. In fact, he has become so unresponsive that he has chosen to ignore my last few emails, which specifically address his contract. As our other vendors agreed, Covid-19 was an unforeseeable event that clearly qualifies as an "Act of God" or a "Force Majeure." Danny's contract specifically references these as valid reasons for refund. As the local government actions were becoming unpredictable in response to Covid-19, we informed Danny in June 2020 that there was a possibility that the pandemic may not allow us to hold our wedding as planned. By August 2020, with the ongoing public gathering restrictions issued by the Public Health Department, we had to make the difficult decision to postpone indefinitely since it would be impossible to proceed with our wedding as scheduled. Nevertheless, Danny argues that this cancellation is purely voluntary. In an attempt to compromise, we initially considered rescheduling our wedding. Despite asking for Danny's 2021 availability, he never provided this requested information. Regardless, it is unclear when the pandemic will end, making it unclear when it will be safe to plan and have a wedding. For this reason, we agreed to Danny's second option, to open up our original wedding date to others. This seemed reasonable since neither Danny nor we would lose any money. Five months later, he informs us that this was actually impossible since he did not open up our original date to other couples. He had given us the option, but he never actually attempted to fill the date. We have tried multiple times to resolve the issue of our deposit with Danny, but he has been very difficult with us. All of our vendors were very understanding and returned our deposits, all except for Danny. He is deceiving and refuses to follow his own contract. We advise others to stay away from him.

He's very professional and has been taking wedding photos at many different venues. He knows exactly where's the best spot and angle for the best photos when we first shared our wedding venues with him. Danny is also very flexible and accommodating. We moved our wedding date twice due to pandemic, and he was so kind going through this journey with us with patience and love. It's a blessing to have both Danny and Julia as our wedding photographers. They both have the magic talent to help us feel calm and relax for taking photos with smiles. Besides my husband and myself, my family and friends love our wedding photos as they were well captured with the intimate and precious moments of us and our guests. Super thankful having Danny and Julia to be part of our wedding. We feel like we made 2 new friends than just meeting 2 professional photographers.

ckly so he was actually the first vendor we secured right after our venue. We booked him for our engagement photos and for our wedding taking place in the October 2018. He was easy to work with and very responsive via email and text. As with most engaged couples, it was our first time and we needed a lot of guidance and ideas for all aspects of the wedding. He provided great ideas and resources for outfits for the photos, poses, props, locations, and also gave his recommendations for other vendors at various price points we could work with within our budget. Danny and his colleague Jimmy were so sweet and patient during our engagement shoot and captured all of the shots we wanted and more. He got the engagement pictures to us quickly and we were able to get our Save the Dates out promptly. For our wedding, Danny and his colleague Jeffrey showed up promptly and immediately got to work. We did the traditional Chinese door games in the morning and had tons of people just in and out of the house with crazy antics going on. But he knew exactly where to be and when to get all of the important shots, without getting in the way of anyone or interrupting any important moments. The best part is he needed no direction and never added to the stress of the day by asking me questions or needing anything from me. He and Jeffrey worked seamlessly with the wedding party and it also helped that he could speak Chinese to my parents and other relatives. Our wedding photos are gorgeous and everyone we know raves about them. The post editing he does really makes the photos and colors pop. I wanted glamorous, high style shots for our wedding and he delivered! His style is definitely distinctive but my husband and I love the way the photos turned out. If you're looking for a more natural, relaxed vibe to your wedding photos, he may not be right for you. But for the highly stylized, artistic shots, he's amazing!

During our various venue visits, one name also kept showing up consistently all over the Bay Area, and that was - you guessed it - Danny Dong. Danny was very responsive prior to the wedding. On the day of, he arrived early and was just absolutely incredible throughout the long 9-hour session that we were fortunate enough to have him for. He was wonderful with my parents, my bridal party, and of course, us. He found the best lighting, the best angles, and the best spots at the venues for beautiful pictures. The time he spent putting into taking just shots of the wedding shoes and the rings really reinforced what we already knew about his professionalism and creativity. My husband and I aren't exactly the kind that know much (or anything) about posing for photos, but Danny was patient, funny, and positive throughout the whole time. My friend's husband said it made his day during the reception because he got to sit Danny Dong, because he is just such a big deal (but oh so very nice, humble, and an absolute pleasure to work with). and relive your wedding day again. That's exactly what we wanted our photos to be - and Danny and Julia captured that beautifully. Even when comparing photographers, we were always drawn back to their work and ultimately decided to reach out. Danny and Julia were one of the first wedding decisions we made because we just KNEW they were meant to shoot our wedding. We booked an engagement session as well as our wedding and both times they were professional and just overall fun to work with. (It was freezing cold on BOTH days but you couldn't even tell from our photos.) They really do make you feel like rockstars and all that awkwardness or shyness just goes away. Your wedding photos should 100% be an INVESTMENT because that's what you'll have to look back on. We are so glad to have worked with photographers as talented and passionate as they are!!

For me to deliver the best work, I can't see the venue beforehand. - If your wedding is a new venue to Danny, like ours was in the DC area, you may find my experience relevant. 1. After we paid him in full in Jan to photograph our July wedding, he became unresponsive, which was a different attitude than before we paid. I emailed him to check on his wedding day logistics, but he didn't respond for over 1 month. I followed up with him briefly and nicely every Monday, because I assumed he was busy during the weekends, and after receiving no response for over 1 month, my fiancé finally had to email him too. Danny Dong responded to my fiance's email right away and blamed the delay on me not calling his cell phone directly. I didn’t want to call him directly, because I don’t want to call when he might be shooting others' wedding. 2. He fooled us into believing he would be willing to come onsite to do research but instead used his other clients he booked after us to force us to give up the prep part. Before we signed the contract, he told us that he only books 1 wedding per week. Per his request, we agreed to pay for his 3-night hotel stay and a local car rental. ~3 months before our wedding, he refused to coordinate with our other vendors, and refused to do even 30 minutes of preparation at the venue before the wedding. Then we found out he signed other weddings on both the west and east coasts before and after our wedding. If there was any flight delay, he would have missed our wedding, not to mention had no time for research or even a good night sleep before the wedding. I really don’t care if he books other weddings around ours, but I didn’t appreciate he said he didn’t do this prior to us signing with him and then he went ahead and did just that. Our wedding venue is an outdoor historic site, with 400 acres and multiple properties onsite for various wedding activities. Given Danny Dong has never been to this site or the DC area before, we wanted to connect him with our venue manager, who offered to show him around either the day before or on the wedding day before the wedding starts. Danny Dong responded with the sentence I quoted at the beginning of this review. 3. We also wanted a post-wedding shoot session with Danny Dong He recommended to have it the day after the wedding day, because the couple will still have the passion and that’s what he saw most couples do. We were concerned of having an evening wedding and then the next day getting up early to do make up and get dressed up all over again. Then he shared that he planned to stay in DC area for 4~5 days, and we could do the post wedding session any day among these days and he is open and flexible given he only does one wedding per week. But in the contract he wanted to still put the post-wedding session day as the day after the wedding, so we agreed as we trusted him. But later, he requested us to honor the contract date and pressured us given he had another wedding he signed after ours so he had to leave town. Upon canceling the contract 77 days before our wedding, we offered to pay him $1k for all the work he’s done for us, including 2 phone calls and 1 email, but he kept $5k for his loss of business. summerwedding201707@gmail

Their direction and vision were excellent. They were the first vendor we booked after our engagement and we are so happy that we made this decision. My husband and I can't wait to see the results!

y are too many things to say about these two. First and foremost, they are so creative. I've worked with other photographers before, and I've never felt comfortable with anyone else, besides Danny and Julia. They are able to suggest so many ideas and give us the choices on what styles and poses we'd like to take. With that, they were so calm and relaxed throughout everything, that my husband and I had such a FUN AND STRESS FREE time. Secondly, Danny is so efficient and quick. He gets the photos back to you instantly. And while other photographers just do a minimal job at photo shopping, etc and giving back the pictures in a couple of weeks, lets say. Danny commits his time and efforts into the pictures and sends them back immediately. Therefore, we have great quality work AND we get them quickly! Last but not least, we recommend him to anyone who wants great quality photos and a hard working photographer with a creative side. We love you Danny!

Our wedding is in Houston. My husband and I picked a couple of our favorite places before he come to our wedding all the way from California. Because of the flight and time difference, it is a tiring trip. However, Danny went to check each of the places with his amazing partner Julia immediately after their arrival. They even went to some places not on our list just trying to find the best spots for us. In short, Danny really gets everything in control before your big day. So once the film starts rolling, he won't let a single second be wasted. ******************In front of the Camera****************** Ever worrying about how to pose in from of a camera? Danny will make it so easy for you. He is a very nice and amicable person, sometimes he give you very specific and detailed directions, but most of the time, he just has the ability to inspire the acting skill out of you, so that everything smile is so spontaneous, every pose is so natural. Believe me, posing is never a thing my husband and I can manage, but I think we feel all comfortable with him during the wedding and the after-day session. What's more important, he can always capture all the great moments. We had so much fun during our wedding day, and now our pictures recorded most of them. ******************Post Process****************** Danny is really talented, and fast. He knows we wanted to see the pictures as soon as possible, and he worked really hard to make that happen. The morning two days after the pictures are taken, my husband and I were so surprised to see so many pictures are already there ready for us, and they are just gorgeous! We love the pictures so much, and so do our friends. The pictures were posted on facebook, and we got so many comments and congratulations from our friends. It is such a great thing for the wedding party and guests to see the picture before the excitement start to fade, and thanks to Danny, each single picture we have seen exceeds our expectation. ******************Quality****************** I really feel lack of words for the quality of the pictures we got. They are wonderful, amazing, perfect.... My husband and I really cannot love each of them more. ******************Personal Experience****************** Last but not least of what we want to say, Danny is such a good person, so is Julia. My husband and I did not know Danny & Julia before our wedding, and now we do feel them like friends. They are happy and easy to get along with, and always consider for his customers (in this case, me and my husband). My husband and I had such a great time with them. We do hope we can invite Danny & Julia again for our anniversary some day in the future.
