Danny and his cellist, Chris, played live music for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner in Mammoth Lakes, CA and Danny then was DJ for our reception. We were SO happy and impressed with Danny and Chris and would highly recommend them for live music and Danny for DJ. Danny and Chris are very talented and versatile, and I think the live music made our ceremony extra special. Our guests LOVED the live music during the cocktail hour and dinner. Danny and Chris also learned two songs for us, one for the bridal procession and the other for our first dance, that were not on his usual play list, and they were both very special. After already being impressed with the live music, Danny then crushed it as a DJ! He played very well to our musical tastes, and the reception was a blast. Our guests were raving the entire night about the music, and it made our wedding super memorable! Danny then did a really sweet and fun live song at the end that we loved. All that to say, we were so happy with our choice and highly recommend Danny to other couples or for other events!!!
I wish I could give Danny 10000 stars. He was DJ at my cousin's wedding last summer, and I knew I wanted him for my wedding immediately. He was so easy to work with, and so insanely talented. He played live music at cocktail hour, during dinner, and at the end of the reception, and everyone was blown away. I requested a block of music that was just girl jams that we could belt out (Taylor Swift, Celine Dion), and he kindly obliged. So many people came up to me and commented on how much fun he made the entire wedding! Book him immediately, you will NOT regret it! Thank you, Danny!
Danny Maika is a super talented musician and plays an extremely broad style of music. We had Danny perform live music and provide DJ services at our recent wedding in San Luis Obispo and are so happy with the results.
We met Danny at one of his shows at the Black Knight in Costa Mesa and a few unique attributes stood out for us.
Danny rocks on guitar but he also plays harmonica, which was a nice touch fit our ranch wedding. Additionally, Danny is able to use looping and can actually build/create songs live! This was epic when he was building so many of our favorite jams at our wedding. Last, Danny did a phenomenal job MC and DJing, which rounded out his entire package well.
We are so thankful that Danny was able to capture and then share recordings of our ceremony and speeches so that we can go back and listen to those moments again and again.

Wow! Danny & his band knocked it out of the park. We hired Danny's trio to play our wedding on Two Harbors, Catalina Island. They were incredibly talented, affordable, kind, easy to work with and all around lovely. I honestly couldn't have imagined a better group to capture the 'island vibe' we were looking for. Danny even learned our first dance song (Harvest Moon) and change a lyric in another song featured in our ceremony to say 'Two Harbors' as opposed to 'Hawaii' as the song was written. Danny is incredible at what he does. I highly recommend!
Danny was amazing!! We had so many of our guests (including 4 who are professional musicians) come up to us during the reception saying he was the best DJ/MC/musician they’ve ever seen at a wedding. We had a very eclectic list of music requests, and he honored all of them. He did an incredible job reading the crowd, and he seamlessly transitioned from slow, to upbeat, to Latin, to country, to rock, to live, to recorded music. If we could give 6 stars, we would. Danny added a great vibe to our reception. I received a number of positive comments from guest about the music. He has great voice and he can play songs from several generations.
If you are looking for a live musician to play at your wedding or event, Danny is your guy! He is very talented, has a great variety of music, and was easy to work with. He played music for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. We selected songs for the ceremony and let him chose songs for the cocktail hour. Everything was perfect and exactly like I had hoped it would be. I am so glad I found Danny and that he was available for our big day. I could not have imagined our wedding without him. I would highly recommend Danny and plan to use him for future events.
We have known Danny for a long time and knew we wanted him as a guest at our wedding. We ended up deciding we want and trust him to be our emcee, musician, and DJ! He is beyond worth it. He’s flexible, attentive, on time, has plenty of equipment (he had 3 different set-ups on our day), and most importantly he’s incredibly easy-going and it’s contagious! Our guests were so pleased and impressed as well. I believe he has or will be booking plenty more events through our guests. I recommend going to his website and finding some of his local gigs so you can see him in action and get his card. I was honored to have his talent to really add to our special day!

We enjoyed hearing Danny play at various bars/restaurants so much that we asked him to play at our wedding. He was awesome! That was almost 8 years ago and now we love taking our toddler out to hear Danny’s music. He’s so versatile, fun loving, approachable, talented and professional.
Danny is an amazing soul. His personality and music are as good as it gets! Years ago, my wife and I were stopped dead in our tracks while on a date at the Irvine Spectrum - Danny Maika was playing live. His music and presence is so positive! He had us both crying tears of joy. We hired him for our wedding in Mammoth Lakes, CA and we made him lug his gear to the top of a mountain and he did it with a smile. I 100% recommend Danny for the job. We still tune in when he plays on Facebook live! Years later and I’m dancing with my three daughters in my living room while Danny plays my wife’s request for our wedding song. Great dude.
I’ve hired Danny for back yard parties, opening acts, headlining acts, my engagement party and wedding ceremonies. He is the perfect entertainment for really any event. He can entertain a small living room and can entertain a large crowd at the OC Fairgrounds. You can not go wrong with having Danny perform your event. My wife and I used to watch Danny perform at various locations around Southern California and we fell in love with his music and style. When we got engaged the first thing we did was ask if he would perform at our wedding!
He is such a class act. Not only did he perform live, he was also our DJ! He was a pleasure to work with from start to finish and he made sure all our wishes were met. I'll never forget his rendition of Ingred Michaelson's "The Way I Am" as my wife walked down the aisle. He even learned the song for us and added his magic Danny Maika flair on top.

We hired Danny Maika in October 2017 for our wedding in Fallbrook, CA. We had watched Danny play live many times in the past, but nothing could have prepared us for his amazing performance and energy on our special day. Danny sang live and played his guitar for our ceremony, bringing a romantic and heartfelt vibe to the ceremony. He then transitioned to live music during cocktail hour, and MC for the dancing. Danny did such an impressive job of transitioning from our quiet garden ceremony to making sure that our guests NEVER left the dance floor :) We had such a wonderfully fun and memorable wedding, filled with laughs and celebration, and so much of this was thanks to Danny's skills. Danny Maika was one of the first decisions I made when getting engaged. I knew I wanted his awesome vibe and eclectic song list as a part of our day. Danny played our ceremony and first few hours of our reception and was just perfect. He even learned one of favorite songs for our first dance! Danny created the perfect ambiance and our guests absolutely loved him.
Danny was such a perfect ceremony musician and I cannot say enough good things about his music, personality and professionalism.
