h a long song, but Mary knew exactly what she was doing. She kept us on track, was always prepared, and we were fully choreographed in time to still have a few lessons fully dedicated to repetition and cleaning right before the wedding. We even had time to practice in some skirts / dresses that simulated the style of my wedding dress (I highly recommend that btw, it was very informative for us). Mary was so helpful, fun, and patient throughout the process. We started with the basics and got more technical with time as we became comfortable in our abilities. She brought the most amazing ideas & plans for us and was also very collaborative! If we had thoughts / ideas / concerns, she welcomed them with open arms and we worked together to find the best combos that worked for us and our vision. She also had a great read on what would or wouldn’t be possible based on our venue, my dress, or even our own abilities. She was not afraid to say, “hey - you guys are killing this, what do you think about leveling it up even more” or “this move might be difficult with the restriction of your sleeves so let’s rethink it so that you don’t run into any issues on the day”. Above all else, I cannot speak enough about how much fun we had with Mary. We genuinely looked forward to all of our lessons and were so sad when they were all done. Each lesson was such a fun part of our week. Not only was it wonderful for us to spend this time together leading up to the wedding, but also we loved hanging out with Mary! She brings such great energy and positivity and is just a joy to be around. We enjoyed our time with her so much that we booked some additional sessions for her to choreograph the mother/son dance for my husband and mother-in-love. Mary worked to coordinate the two dances so that they did not feel too similar and had the right vibe that we were looking for but were also complimentary of one another. It was amazing to us that she was able to seamlessly craft a dance in an entirely different style for the mother / son dance that was still just as beautiful as our first dance! My mother-in-love was so impressed that she then booked some more sessions to work on general dancing with my father-in-love and brother-in-love to just use on the dance floor as they pleased. Across several different people with varying abilities and dancing interests, every single person loved working with her. What I am saying is, Mary can do it all. From specific choreographed dances to general dance knowledge - she has you covered. We cannot recommend her enough. If you are debating anything at all, I am here to tell you that it is SO worth it. We are now almost a month out from our wedding and our family & friends are STILL talking about our dances. The feeling of performing it in front of everyone (which was a surprise to all of our guests and I highly recommend doing it that way) and seeing their reactions was unmatched. It was a core memory moment from our wedding day and something that we will carry on as a tradition for each of our anniversaries. Thank you Mary for being such an integral part of our wedding and for helping us celebrate not only on the big day but also in all of the time leading up to it!

It turned out to be a great “date night” opportunity for us and totally worth it amidst the chaos of wedding planning. Mary has a patient way of explaining and demonstrating moves that just makes sense, and each of our dances felt beautiful and personalized. She was also extremely flexible with our crazy schedules leading up to the wedding and worked within all the constraints we had of time and injuries. Every single guest commented on our dances and asked where we’d taken lessons, and our photographer and videographer both stayed late because they loved the dances so much they wanted to get extra footage of them! Absolutely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding, can’t recommend them enough.

or on Instagram, so when Chris and I finally committed to wanting to do something special, I knew the right person. I am extra by nature. Chris is a Leo. Also comfy with attention. We picked our song. I sat down for hours and thought about what I wanted. I wrote line by line- Second to second- My vision for the entire two-minute song. Things like “I want to have a tribute to my Peruvian roots by turning X way” or “he wants a lil soft shoe moment” and “I know this is not a 3/4 time, but can you make it so we go waltzing together?” I sent it very proud of myself then the dread set in. I immediately regretted it because I KNEW most people would be so quick to say “this girl is a mess and way too intense.” Bella never did. She called me a day later and we went through everything. Asking what i meant certain places on my request, or how we could make my vision come to life. We both were excited to create together!! She was thankfully charmed by the obnoxious requests. And her, as a Scorpio, knowsss how to give her whole heart to something. Her business and her practice is special because you can tell the care she brings to each lesson. Bella is so easy to work with and will be patient with literally every step of the way. She's open to making changes with what you're comfortable doing while providing her expertise. She's very responsive and punctual especially with our schedules changing she managed to work with us as best as she could. Mary was recommended by Bella to help us wrap our or dance when our schedules couldn't align (not their fault, we had incidents which drastically changed our scheduling). Mary jumped right in and we were able to finish the ending of our dance in 2 sessions and we are so grateful Danse L'Amour has the instructors to find solutions for us while maintaining a the same experience and coaching talent. The course inspired us as a couple to continue to dance!
