Darbey Delaney Photography is an imagery company that covers wedding occasions and is based out of Hickory, NC. Photographer Darbey delights in collaborating with to-be-weds and portraying their unique love. She favors natural light and photojournalistic styles when it comes to catching those candid, spontaneous moments throughout wedding celebrations. Paramount to her approach is focusing on the couple’s genuine connection, and striving to portray that on camera is what motivates her every time. Owner Darbey Roberts was given the middle name Delaney by her great-grandma, after which she named her photography company. For over six years she has worked in the wonderful world of wedding imagery, and there’s not an event that goes by that doesn’t pull on her heartstrings. She truly invests herself in each couple’s day, and having organized her own wedding, she understands how pressured and busy a time it can be. To that end, she will endeavor to ensure that the photography side of things is as fun-filled and relaxed as possible. Whether you fancy adventurous images in the great-outdoors or some formal portraits for good measure, she will realize your vision. Darbey Delaney Photography offers a number of exclusive packages to soon-to-be-newlyweds. Every plan devised by Darbey includes an engagement session, an additional photographer, and print-release rights with digital files. There are a number of optional add-ons too, such as anniversary photoshoots and prints, which are available depending on your chosen package. This professional looks forward to hearing from prospective newlyweds who are seeking an enjoyable, efficient, and elegant pictorial journey.

Hi! I'm Darbey! I'm the girl behind the camera that will most likely cry a tear or two during the father/daughter dance (it gets me pretty much every single time!). I planned my own wedding for over two years, so I totally understand the love and care that goes into the planning of each wedding. I love that I have the opportunity to be part of my couples' wedding day, capturing all the pretty details and memories, but the thing I love more is being able to capture true love and my couples' stories.

uldn’t be happier with our photos– they perfectly capture the day! They’re wistful, romantic, and lovely. The poses she had us try along with the framing and editing were so beautiful and perfectly matched the mood of our wedding! While looking through the sneak peek and then the gallery, we both could NOT stop smiling! Beyond her incredible talent for capturing magic moments – Darbey knows how to make a wedding day feel like a non-stop party. We had no clue how big of a deal the photographer’s vibe could be until we met her. Everyone (from our 3-year-old ring bearer to my 92 year-old grandpa) she photographed was laughing and genuinely smiling (because she’s absolutely hilarious and so much fun) and it shines through in every shot! Also, Darbey really went above and beyond for us in so many ways! From the planning process, through the big day, all the way to getting us our photos way ahead of schedule, she was so selfless and generous. bout our wedding photographer, as I really don’t like what’s currently trending (over exposure, over saturation). Darbey shoots everything raw and then she unleashed her creative talent into her edits. Her true to nature finish with emphasis on making the colors come alive just spoke straight to my heart. Little did we know that when we met her in person for our engagement photos that we were also in the presence of a comedian!!! Not kidding, almost every minute we were with Darbey, she was making us laugh. We had the absolute best time getting to know her and she made us feel 100% comfortable in front of the lens. I also had a bridal portrait session with her and it was just her and I at our venue, and true to our first time together, my belly hurt by the end of it from all the laughs. It was also an incredibly fun day, and Darbey was there to help me from taking my dress on and off, holding my train, and just taking the lead on getting me a variety of portraits I’ll cherish forever. On the day of our wedding, we are blessed to say it was a perfect day for us. Darbey created for us a memorialization of one of life’s biggest moments for and we couldn’t be more in awe of our album. It is absolutely stunning. We are endlessly thankful to have worked with Darbey Robert’s, and would 1000% do it all again with her. Wedding planning is a roller coaster of an experience, and you really bond with everyone involved with helping make your dream vision come to life, and having Darbey capture it all is easily the best decision we made. To say Darbey is a joy to be around while working is an understatement. She delivers the most high quality wedding photos you can lay eyes on, and I have the utmost respect for her and her work.
