After the phone call I was so excited for the day. First off, the first song he played was my favorite John Mayer song during dinner and I did not even tell him - it is just like he knew. I love that he plays the piano along to my favorite songs - he is so talented. Stephen dealt with some noise complaints from my wedding with complete grace and a level of professionalism. He was always on my side and made sure everyone had a great time. A big fear was not having people dance and everyone danced the whole night. When the night was over I asked my husband how will we be able to see him again!

The guests were amazed at his live piano and his incredible mash-ups: who else could flawlessly combine Rhianna and Whitney Houston? A huge thank you to Stephen for making our night incredible!

Stephen was so helpful when first starting out, and has such an infectious energy! We loved how he could mix in songs with playing the piano, added such a cool vibe to our wedding. No one wanted to leave the dance floor at the wedding! He took our must play songs and created such a great mix - could not recommend him enough! When I was referred to DJ Darby via Lowndes Grove in Charleston my search ended. I had done a bit of research and sure, if you want to pay $4,000 plus for a kid to plug in his macbook by all means go ahead. BUT, if you want straight raw talented ENTERTAINMENT for you and your guests Stephen is THE GUY. He blended in everything from 90's country for our father-daughter and mother-son dances. then jumped right into some classic rock for our parents /older guests and the rest of the night it was just banger, after banger, after banger. Thank god our photographer was there to grab us for our cake cutting / sunset photos at Lowndes Grove because we would not have left the dance floor. From our first conversation to a week before our wedding, stephen was there every step of the way. By the time our wedding day rolled around it was like saying hello to a friend attending the wedding. He took requests and blended them as well. My favorite part was he asked what songs to we wanted him to play but, after watching him on youtube during quarantine we just told him you show us what you got and have fun with it and HE DID NOT DISAPPOINT! my FIL was a former drummer and said he spent a few songs just watching him work between keyboards and computer and the transitions were "flawless" he never missed a beat. I could go on and on about DJ Darby but I'll leave ya'll with this. If you don't select him to entertain at your wedding, and I say that because your guests will talk non stop about it, YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG! The best price, for the best value, you will get in chucktown!!!

I want recordings of his piano mixes for a ton of songs. He also did the lightning (he transformed the space entirely), the photo booth and the ceremony audio. All perfect, no hassle, and the photo booth in particular was a huge hit. I can't recommend Stephen enough. I want to hire him for every event I have.

I had to move my wedding from 2020 to 2021 and he was able to do so seamlessly while keeping all of our information and payment applicable to the new date. If you are wanting you wedding to not only be beautiful but also FUN, you have to hire Darby events.

The ceremony went flawlessly without a single hold up or issue with the speakers, microphones, etc. In terms of the reception, Stephen's ability to take your interests/musical tastes and transform them into something amazing is truly unique. He was so in touch with the crowd the entire night and we cannot thank him enough for that! The live piano that he incorporates into his work is what really takes him to the next level and sets him apart from others in the industry. With Stephen, you are getting an incredibly talented and experienced artist, not just a DJ. We also booked his Photo booth services, which were of course top notch as well. The photo booth he uses is super high tech and he brought along an assistant to help operate it, who was also very fun to be around and interacted great with the guests. On top of it all, he was also just a super cool dude to talk to before and after the wedding. We even had some changes just minutes/seconds before some things would happen and he adjusted and reacted flawlessly to everything. We could not have asked anything more from him. I cant even begin to tell you how many of the compliments we received the day after the wedding were about how great he was the entire night. Planning a wedding is stressful. Do yourself a favor, book Darby events, leave the rest up to Stephen and have one less thing to worry about come your wedding day!

We did a Venezuelan tradition called "La Hora Loca" and he absolutely crushed it-you would have thought he was venezuelan or hispanic himself! All of the songs were ON POINT!
