Darling Cake

If you're looking for someone to bake an amazing cake for your wedding in the Ithaca area, this is the place. We ordered a 3 tiered spice cake with cinnamon vanilla buttercream frosting for our wedding day. We were looking for a cake that was unique as our wedding was on May 4th ( Star Wars day) and it was also "themed". When I asked Amy if it were possible to create the cake I was envisioning she decided to take on the job. On our wedding day when I got to see the cake (as well as the venue) I couldn't have been more happy with how our cake turned out. We enjoyed every bite of that cake and may I say the guests also enjoyed every bite. We were not disappointed! Great price & even delivered the cake to our venue. Big thanks to Amy for creating our unique cake.

I can never adequately put into words how positive the experience of having Amy make our wedding cake was. From the beginning, her communication was prompt and she was enthusiastic about our design. She listened to every single one of my ideas and clearly depicted the way that the final cake would look based on her technique and abilities. I was stunned by the simple beauty of the resulting cake, which was truly edible art. The tasting at her home during the planning phase was gracious and fun! We chose champagne cake with strawberry buttercream (such genuine strawberry flavor from real fruit!) and chocolate cake with caramel buttercream for our flavors, with an outer covering of vanilla butter cream. I WILL NEVER FORGET THE TASTE OF OUR WEDDING CAKE, and the compliments I received on the design and flavor were countless. I could cry just thinking about it! When Amy was setting up the cake at our venue 30 minutes before guests arrived, there were dozens of people asking me questions. Amy never bothered me with a single word, just gave me a warm smile I will never forget and gestured to the absolutely gorgeous cake of my dreams while I bustled by. We ate the leftovers for a week and they somehow tasted even better in the days that followed. I wish I could eat nothing but Amy's buttercream for every meal the rest of my life. Bless you, amazing baker, for being a bride's dream!

Amy was amazing! From our initial meeting in her home to do a cake tasting, to seeing her on the wedding day, she was the sweetest. Everything we tasted was delicious, and from the moment we met I knew I could trust Amy to deliver the cake of my dreams. On the wedding day, it was warm and humid. Amy knew the cake shouldn't have been plated yet outdoors, as the weather would have caused it to sweat. She made the executive decision to keep it indoors until the very last minute. I appreciated the fact that she knew to trust her gut and knew what was best for the cake! The cake was beautiful, and most importantly, delicious. Everyone raved about it. We can't wait to break into our leftover tier in a year :)

Amy did an amazing job with our cupcakes and cake for our wedding! Not only were they delicious, but the presentation was beautiful as well. She was so easy to work with from our initial conversations to the tasting to the big day. We are so appreciative of all the work she did to make it go smoothly. Amy from Darling Cakes is the most all around genuine, nice person! I planned my wedding in NY from our home in Florida. She helped every step of the way from sharing design photos on Pinterest, to her finding me on the big day for a last minute design change (the extra flowers on top were too much.). I was able to meet her for a tasting in her home and let me tell you, ANY of her cake/frosting combos will delight you. And thats coming from a professional pastry chef! I got married three months ago and we’re STILL eating it out of our freezer! It’s too good to throw away!!! We had a marble cake with peanut butter buttercream, and vanilla spice cake with vanilla spice buttercream... everyone who had some asked for her information! Amy - THANK YOU!

Are you getting married in the Ithaca area?? Hire Amy to make your wedding cake immediately. From the minute I stepped into Amy’s house for the cake tasting and took a bite of her delicious cake, I knew that she would be able to make the wedding cake of my dreams! Amy is so lovely to work with. Always available, always friendly and caring, always helpful...I emailed her photos of my ideas and she was more than happy to make it happen! On the wedding day itself, she could not have been more professional. She arrived on time and I walked into the room as she was setting up the most beautiful cake I’ve ever seen. And it was so delicious, too. We chose vanilla cake and spice cake with vanilla buttercream and raspberry preserve. Our guests raved about the cake (literally I heard this over and over: “this is the best wedding cake I’ve ever had”) and they told us they sought out second and third slices. Could you really ask for anything more than that? Thank you so much, Amy! You are truly incredible.

Amy was wonderful. She was very responsive and communicative. She worked closely with me to create the cakes I wanted, both in flavor and design. On the big day, she made everything come to life. I loved all of her designs and the cakes were so tasty. She even offers very affordable cake stand rentals. We got so many compliments on how delicious the cakes were that we would definitely go with her again! Highly recommend!

My husband and I could not have been happier with how our wedding cake turned out – Amy did an absolutely beautiful job and the cake was even more delicious than it looked. All our guests raved about the cake and it all managed to disappear by the end of the night! Amy created exactly what we envisioned and we loved working with her. We cannot say enough about Darling Cake and our amazing wedding cake. From our first email months ago, Amy was responsive and communicative. Needed a small cake for just us for the cake cutting ceremony. The cake was delicious, and turned out exactly how I wanted! She even made a cake topper for me that I saw on Pinterest, and coordinate d with my florist to add flowers to the top. So cute!

Amy of Darling Cake is incredibly talented and wonderful to work with. For our wedding we had a small cake for the bridal party and cupcakes for our guests. She made sure that even the tiniest of details on each confection was delicately handled, and the entire presentation was cohesive and beautiful. On top of that, the cake tasted amazing. Offering us the full flexibility to do exactly what we wanted, and coming up with creative solutions to do it within our budget, Amy made sure that our dream wedding was complete with our dream cake (and cupcakes!).
