arrah worked with us to get our hair cuts and color looking beautiful and just the way we wanted in the months leading up to the wedding. She was always willing to give us tips and suggestions on how to have our hair styled and makeup done for the wedding and we still did a hair trial with my daughter's veil. Darrah went out of her way again to accommodate my daughter's schedule when we ended up having to go back to the destination venue for some additional wedding photos a few months later. My only regret from the wedding day was not being able to have her with us for the wedding. We both still use Darrah as our regular hair stylist and I always look forward to my hair appointments. Darrah is always cheerful and she is a fun person to know and I feel pampered while I am there and look great when I leave.

She also colored my hair specifically for being photographed to what she thought would look good, and my pictures came out amazing! I had a destination wedding, so unfortunately Darrah couldn't be there on THE day, but I would definitely recommend her!!! I also paid a deposit to secure her availability for the day of my wedding and was entered into her calendar at the shop. We were going to pin down exact times the week of the wedding on how long she would need to be at the church. The week of the wedding roles around, and I text her to finalize times, but I never received a response. With so much going on, I didn't realize she never responded until the day before the wedding, so I texted her again. So now it's the day of the wedding, and I still haven't heard from her. I texted her AGAIN that morning, and still... nothing. Then, I called to get sent to her voicemail informing me that she was on vacation until three days AFTER my wedding. There were three numbers of other girls that work with her that she left for "in case of emergency" (like, it's my wedding day, and my make-up artist went on vacation without notifying me), but after trying all three numbers multiple times, I never got an answer. Eventually after going through different connections that knew Darrah, I was able to get ahold of her assistant, who dropped everything she was doing on her day off, found a babysitter for her kids, and made it to the church all within an hour of finding out that Darrah stood me up. The assistant did a great job on my make-up, and the day went on, but I have yet to hear from Darrah. She texted my hairstylist, who referred her, apologizing to her, but never did I receive an apology. She never called after the wedding to make sure I was satisfied with the work of her assistant. Then, when we called to get our money back (I would have never paid HER for a trial run, if SHE wasn't the one actually doing my day of make-up, and the deposit was to secure her time to be at the church for the day of), she refused and said that SHE sent her assistant. She didn't send her assistant, I on my wedding day, hunted her assistant down. The whole situation was absolutely ridiculous and beyond unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend her to my worst enemy for wedding make-up. She made, what I planned on being a fun, stress-free morning, a morning from hell. Unfortunately, I had to at least give her one star... If the website didn't make me, I would have given her zero.

house on my wedding day, made the entire experience relaxed and fun. She cut my hair a week before the bridal shoot and I'm still getting compliments about how amazing my hair looks. I sent my best friend to her and now she's also going to Darrah for hair cuts. Not only is she awesome at what she does, but she's friendly and easy to talk to. I feel like I've made a friend, not just found a new hair and makeup artist! This is who you want for your wedding!

hat wanted makeup were very happy with it. My only complaint was my bridesmaids not being aware of the prices. They all chose the hair and makeup that fit best their budgets, but we were not told it was the starting price on her website. All of my bridesmaids paid a significantly higher price than they were prepared for.

Darrah in January at the 1st trial run for my daughter and knew then she was the right person for the job. Not only did the bridesmaid's hair and makeup look amazing my daughter's was beautiful. wedding, so I already knew I could trust her with my hair. She made my hair so beautifully blonde and it had the best healthy shine it's ever had. When it came to hairstyles for the big day, Darrah was very flexible. I had a hard time making a decision on what I wanted. I showed her a few photos I liked and trusted her to do her thing. For my bridals, I opted for a curly half-up, and for the wedding, I wanted to not worry about it falling, getting stuck to me with sweat, or getting in my face, so we did an up-do. They were both stunning! I don't have very long hair, but the way she styled it, it made me look like I had a TON of hair! This is a very good thing. Darrah not only did my hair, but all of my bridesmaids, my mother and MIL, and both our grandmothers. She also did our make-up. A few of us did airbrush makeup and we were all VERY impressed with how picture-perfect we looked! It stays on for 2 days (so I was still looking cute the first day of our honeymoon) which was really nice not to wake up and look like a zombie. it didn't sweat off or come off on my new husband's white shirt. Every woman in my bridal party looked amazing. I also went to Darrah for a spray tan. I had never done it before, so I was really nervous. I had no reason to be worried!! After showering the next day (and all the bronzer comes off), my skin had a beautiful summer glow! It wasn't an awkward process, either. Darrah is an expert at what she does. I would send any of my friends or loved ones to her for any hair, makeup, tanning, or wedding needs. Darrah is also a very personable, friendly woman whom all of her clients love and call a friend. She doesn't take it personally if you ask her to change or fix something she's done if you ever need to. She is truly the best and I have her to thank for helping me feel and look my best on my wedding day!

o see if I would like to work with them on my wedding day. When I booked my appointment for hair and makeup, Darrah was very nice and very professional over the phone. I was a little disappointed that she was not available on the day I needed her but she offered to get me in with an employee of hers. I was completely fine with it, after all, I've read all of Darrah's 5 star reviews on theknot.com and figured her staff would be just as great. I am sorry to say that it was not the case. I came in and was immediately greeted with a smile. The person I was dealing was with very nice and sweet; however, she couldn't get to the look I wanted. I initially showed her a picture similar to what I was looking for, which is something my hair can absolutely can do because I've done it before, except, I wash my hair before I style. I have very fine, flat hair. Darrah told me to come in with my hair unwashed. I was thinking the wash was part of their package so I thought it would get done there. Well, my hair was not washed and it was very oily, so it didn't get the volume I desired. I asked for no tight curls. As soon as I saw her pull out the wand, I knew that's what she was going to do; however, since she's a professional, I thought she was going to start it out like that and brush the curls later to make them loose. Instead, I had a load of hairspray on my hair, curls tight as can be, and the victory roll I asked for, which she struggled with for a while, did not hold up the way it was supposed to. When we got to the makeup part, it felt as though she was doing it okay. I looked in the mirror and it looked "okay", but not as good as I had hoped. Unfortunately, I didn't have much more time to spend and I knew I was going to have to come home and fix my hair and my makeup in a matter of 30 minutes. I told her it was fine and that I had to go, I stepped in my car, looked in the rear view mirror, and my makeup looked worse in natural light! The foundation looked caked on, my eyeliner and the eye shadow was extremely sloppy! Definitely not makeup for hooded eyes like mine! She was already having trouble getting my lashes to stay on. I had so much glue on my lash line, that my eyeliner was not aligned to it. She used the worst eyeliner pencil ever. Before I even left the salon, my bottom liner was already smeared and there was none left on my water line. I drove home playing in my head how I was going to fix my hair in a matter of 30 minutes. I got home, tore off the fake eyelashes that were already half way coming off, and began the transformation. Needless to say, I paid for a service that I had to redo myself. I am so disappointed. Darrah was busy with her clients so I didn't get to interact with her much. She was giving the girl I was working with pointers on how to get my hair to do what I asked for but there was no success. I thought I had found my stylist for my wedding but it looks like I'm going to have to keep shopping around. I am really hoping my engagement photos turn out perfect anyway. I tried extremely hard not to show my frustration to the camera.

ton of hair spray because I didn't want my hair to feel crunchy. She gave me super tight curls and used a TON of hairspray! I went a long with it because I thought maybe they would fall out, but they didn't. She also put half up in the back which I did like but it still wasn't the curls I had asked for or wanted. For make-up I wasn't quite sure what I wanted so I showed her a few pictures and let her do her thing. She was just very sloppy with her application and the make up application she did did not flatter me at all. The eye lashes she added onto me looked very fake and unnatural. I had asked for a smokey which can be hit or miss but I think for my face and eye shape she just over did it. Darrah was a very nice person and I'm sure If i had voiced my opinions in person she would have done whatever possible to fix my concerns. I just felt for my wedding day I should find someone who does it right the first time no complaints from me. I will not be using darrah for my wedding. Also I think for the quality the trial was a little over-priced. At MAC they do your makeup for free you just have to buy $50 worth of products. That sounds like a lot better deal to me. Also I was very sad because I read multiple reviews from the knot and everyone was happy with her plus she was very close to me. So maybe I just had a bad visit or I am just a very picky person.

y hair and air-brush makeup. My guests and husband couldn't get over how gorgeous my hair and makeup were. They said I look like a model in my photos! I didn't have to worry about my make-up coming off during rain, sweating, dancing, etc. The air-brush stays on the next day, so I didn't have to re-do it for our honeymoon the next day. The way Darrah did my hair made my medium-length hair look like there was a ton of it! It didn't fall the entire evening! Darrah and her assistant, Lindsay, did my bridesmaids, house party, and mothers' hair and make-up as well. All of the ladies looked absolutely beautiful and raved about their service!

and I had to be back at the venue 30 minutes away from Darrah's salon by 2:30. But we all arrived at 8 am and Darrah and her assistant worked very efficiently and we were done just in time! All the girls looked stunning, their makeup looked fabulous, and I was very pleased with how my hair and makeup turned out too. The extensions were definitely worth it and it all turned out exactly the way I imagined. Darrah has a great attitude and is certainly very talented!

he met my groom early in her salon to do his hair and he looked great!! Then she met my MOH, my mom and me at the church and did an absolutely amazing job! She kept me laughing and having fun on that busy stressful morning. We love her so much!!

It was such an important day for my daughter and I wanted everything for her to be perfect! I can honestly say that the whole air-brush experience was indeed perfect. My daughter looked absolutely beautiful. Darrah made everything easy and comfortable for both of us. I went first and honestly was a little nervous. Darrah was so good at explaining the process as well as asking us what we wanted to make sure the colors were just right. I quickly relaxed and enjoyed the whole process because I realized that Darrah was an expert in her craft. I really didn't know what to expect but I can honestly say I was very pleased. My skin looked flawless! Darrah's air-brushing make me look and feel much younger. In fact, many of the guests commented how young I looked and I am about to be 55! I was concerned that my make-up would not last until the evening wedding, but it did, and in fact was as fresh at midnight as it was when she did it in the morning! My daughter and I both said we felt beautiful for her special day and it showed in the pictures as well. My daughter looked like a model or movie star! I couldn't have been more happy with the whole experience and the results! I highly recommend Darrah for air-brushing and make-up. She is a true artist!!

p done at one point in our lives, but nothing truly compares to the air brush experience we had the day of the wedding. Even though I wanted my sister to look absolutely beautiful, I also did not want to look like I rolled out of bed next to the stunning bride. I told Darrah how I hate my dark circles, and she assured me they would not show up in photos. (I must admit, I am the girl who has tried all under eye concealers out there!!) The moment I opened my eyes and saw my makeup, I was speechless! I have never seen my face look so SMOOTH and FLAWLESS, but I still felt like my skin could breathe. I did not feel like it was "caked" on. It was very hot the day of wedding and our photographer wanted to take photos outside, when we returned to the venue all the other bridesmaids were having to touch up their makeup, while my sister and I were still "photo ready". I showed her a variety of makeup looks that I "liked" and she blew all my expectations out of the water. She was highlighting and contouring to make me the most beautiful version of my self, and I truly felt it!! Darrah was truly showing her talents in the art of makeup. Even my boyfriend who does not care for me wearing a lot of makeup, was even saying how beautiful I looked and he loved the way the makeup looked! I strongly recommend Darrah for anyone who wants to feel like a princess,even if it may not be your special day .... just yet! :)

metroplex. When I scheduled the pics with my photographer, I TOTALLY forgot that salons are closed on Mondays. I had already rescheduled and didn't want to do so again. My mom did such a great job of searching and asking friends for a name. Her hair lady, Pam, gave us Darrah's name. Mom called and set the whole thing up. IT WAS AMAZING! She was willing to come in on her day off to do my hair and makeup, even though we had never met and didn't do a trial hair run before. Her demeanor was so cheerful and welcoming. She was able to look at the picture I showed her from Pinterest and do EXACTLY what I wanted. My makeup was flawless and I felt absolutely stunning when I left her studio. I HIGHLY recommend using Darrah for personal or bridal needs. She is an amazing woman and a very talented artist. d talented! Not only was she there to work her hair and makeup magic, she was there to calm everyone and get this special day started off on a positive tone! Darrah worked all day long, making everyone laugh and feel at ease and making certain that the entire experience went smoothly and on time. All the girls looked just incredible, hair and makeup styled to perfection! I am the mother of the bride, and was last to be styled by Darrah! I have never felt so relaxed and beautiful as I did after Darrah was finished doing my hair and makeup. If you want the perfect wedding, call Darrah! stly I never want anything else but airbrush in the future. My mother and I were the first to arrive and I was a little nervous about how fresh my makeup would look since I was having it done at 10:00 am when my wedding didn't start until 6:00 pm that evening. Darrah assured me that it would look photo flawless until I washed my face that evening and she was right! I also have very sensitive skin and slight rosacea on my cheeks, so I'm always self-conscious of looking too red. However, the airbrush makeup has a water base and it felt so light on my skin while completely hiding any redness. I finally washed my face about 12:30 am and it still looked perfect, even through a few happy tears here and there. Using the airbrush technique gave the perfect flawless finish without feeling like makeup was "caked" on or feeling oily in any way. My bridesmaids and sister kept telling my mom (who is 54) that she honestly looked 40, Darrah was able to shade the makeup appropriately and cover any skin imperfections so that it looked completely natural. It's like having a 30 minute face lift. Darrah even took the extra time to airbrush my neck and chest and upper back so that my skin had a flawless look and it made the spray tan I had done 2 days before look even. I highly recommend Darrah's services for anyone that wants to look flawless at a special event, she is awesome!

't wear a whole lot of makeup on a daily basis, so I was nervous about the airbrush makeup, but it turned out great and I was so happy with it. She has an assistant who came out to help with my bridesmaids hair and she was wonderful as well. One of my bridesmaids was a little picky about her hair, so Darrah completely re-did her up-do because she wasn't 100% happy with the style at first. Everyone's hair and makeup was so beautiful, and more importantly everyone was 100% happy with the way they looked! I'm so glad I went with Darrah, and I now I even found myself a new regular hair stylist!

Anyway- I met Darrah and worked with her through all my photo shoots - from engagement, bridal and wedding day. She is awesome to deal with and will bend over backwards to make sure you are happy with the look. I am one of those brides how didn't really have an idea of what I wanted to look like and just sort of described a feeling - she got it right every time, from the look like myself just better, to a romantic moment bridge out on a stroll, to a retro bride walking down the aisle to my groom! I would recommend her many times over - even just every day hair cuts!!!
